Search for driver as two women taken to hospital after crash

Police are searching for a driver who left the scene after two women were taken to hospital following a crash in Angus.
Emergency services were called to the A923, at the junction with the A984, known locally as Bendochy Crossroads, after a crash involving a blue Volkswagen Golf and a silver Hyundai i10 at around 4pm on Monday.
The occupants of the Hyundai, an 86-year-old woman and a 76-year-old woman, were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment before being released.
The Volkswagen left the scene before officers arrived and enquiries are ongoing to trace the occupants.
Constable Mathew Ross said: 'Investigations are being carried out to establish the full circumstances of this collision.
'I'd like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far and continue to appeal for anyone who saw what happened, and has not already spoken to police, to get in touch. I'm particularly keen to speak to anyone with dash-cam footage from the area at the time.
'We've been told the Volkswagen was seen in the Blairgowrie area before the crash and may have had damage to it at that time. I'd ask anyone with information about that to also come forward.'

We are aware of videos circulating online and these are being assessed by counter terrorism officers.' An easyJet spokesperson said: "Flight EZY609 from Luton to Glasgow this morning was met by police on arrival in Glasgow, where they boarded the aircraft and removed a passenger due to their behaviour onboard. "easyJet's crew are trained to assess all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time. "The safety and well-being of our customers and crew is always easyJet's highest priority." Authorities have confirmed that no further individuals were involved, and the situation is considered to be contained.

An investigation has been launched after a car was deliberately set on fire outside a home in Cumbernauld in the early hours of the morning. A white Kia Sportage was set alight on Spruce Road around 3am on Sunday. The blaze was extinguished by the fire fighters and no injuries were reported. Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to get in touch. Detective constable David Williamson said: 'Our enquiries are ongoing into this incident, and I am asking anyone who might have been in the area and saw something to get in touch. 'Similarly, anyone in the area with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that might have captured anything that could be useful in our investigation is urged to contact us.' A dog has died and a man is seriously injured in hospital after a car was driven into a park in Aberdeen. Police were called to reports of a car in Eric Hendrie Park on Deveron Road and a disturbance taking place around 8.30pm on Sunday. A 51-year-old man attended Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident, where his condition is described as serious. An XL Bully dog belonging to the man died as a result of the disturbance. Police are treating the incident as attempted murder, and investigations are ongoing to trace everyone involved. Detective sergeant Emma Low said: 'Our investigation is at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident. 'Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact officers through 101, quoting incident number 3236 of July 27, 2025.
