Jerome 'Jerry' A. Boehlen Sr. stood at the corner of Park and Merrill for two decades, helping children cross the street safely while greeting every passerby with a smile and wave.

Jerry passed away on Monday, the Fond du Lac Police Department said.
'Rain or shine, Jerry was there — a steady presence, a friendly face, and a local icon whose kindness touched generations,' the Fond du Lac Police Department said. '

While Jerry retired three years ago, many will continue to recognize Park and Merril as 'Jerry's Corner.'

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Police Department says it arrested two Green Bay men on Friday, believed to be connected with a child's death on June 24. According to the release, officers were dispatched to an Alpine Drive residence on Sunday, June 22, around 9:15 a.m. on a report of a two-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries. The child was treated at a local hospital before being transferred to another medical facility for further aid. The boy died from his injuries on June 24. GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Local police and the Green Bay Area School District joined Emplify Health by Bellin to raise awareness of an online scam known as 'sextortion.' According to the release, these scams often involve people who pose as members of the opposite sex, targeting teenagers and young adults. These scammers start conversations with victims before persuading them to exchange sexual content. Neil Armstrong's watch inspires $17K donation for students across northeast Wisconsin 'Do not send any images or videos to someone you do not know,' Police Commander Rick Belanger said. 'Sextortion scammers prey on trust and will threaten/intimidate to make private content public unless specific demands are met.' Superintendent Vicki Bayer added in a release that children are encouraged to reach out to a trusted adult, no matter who it may be, if they are victims of these crimes. Some cases do not make headlines, which makes the full impact of these scams hard to know; however, a recent case reportedly led to a teenager's death in Wisconsin. Sheboygan Fire Chief confirms missing teen found dead in quarry
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) – After a 13-year-old was reported missing, on Tuesday, concluded on Wednesday after officials say they found the teen dead. According to the Sheboygan Fire Department, the 13-year-old was reported missing from the area of the Jaycee Quarry Park at 2:09 p.m. on July 15. Door County Sheriff's Office at 'active scene,' residents asked to avoid area Rescue efforts made from several area agencies resumed at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning and ended sometime later after officials confirmed they had found the 13-year-old's body in the quarry. At a press conference, the Sheboygan Fire Chief confirmed the news of the teen's death. As sad as it is, we're glad we could get the family some closure. So let's keep them in our prayers.
