In Clair Obscur
Expedition 33
, the
Gestral Gambler
presents the players with a riddle that can stump some logic-seekers. 'What are my chances of dealing more damage in the long run?'— while the question might seem math-driven, the answer to it refuses to obey probability. To answer it correctly unlocks the powerful reward, but to get it wrong can mean you miss out. Here is how you can solve it and why to overthink it can be a waste of time.
Defy the probability to solve Expedition 33 Gestral Gambler Riddle
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Gestral Gambler's Riddle (SECRET Roulette Pictos)
The
Gambler
for you waits in the Gestral Village, which is hidden behind the rock arch near Chief's house. Follow the path that is marked with 'An unbearable smell lurks away' sign until you reach the building that's adorned with cards and dice.
Once inside, you will face the Gambler's query. It will present you with a hypothetical that comes with a 50% chance of dealing 100% damage per hit. As a player, you might calculate the average or the long-term outcome, but the real trick is in rejecting it. Just answer 'I don't care'. This answer is a nod to the worldview of the Gambler. True gambling is not always about the statistics.
Choosing either option will reinforce a lesson: that obsession with the odds will contradict the thrill of chance. Remember, the Gambler doesn't care about statistics and will reward the player who embraces uncertainty, the theme that is woven into the narrative of the game.
Get rewarded with the Roulette Picto
If you succeed by answering the Gambler's riddle correctly, you will earn the
Roulette Picto
and their respect. The Level 5 item comes with a 50% chance of halving the damage or tripling it with the 200% boost. It means every attack here is a high-risk and high-reward gamble.
Despite the randomness of Roulette Picto, it offers 34 Defense and 9% Critical Rate, adding reliability and making it a solid choice for aggressive builds. Just do not rely on it when you need consistent damage. It is all about luck.
If you attach it to characters like Gustave, watch the damage swing wild. It will go from 100 to over 1,000 per hit. Well, while being inconsistent, the reward shines in the clutch moments, making it perfect for the bold players.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 rewards the player's boldness, and Gambler's riddle is no exception. Whether you are wielding Roulette Picto or simply absorbing the narrative punch, the takeaway is, at times, victory is in surrendering control. After all, in the gameplay's world of secrets and more, unpredictability is a huge statement.

Shatrughan Sinha went to plastic surgeon to fix his ‘kata-pita' face, but Dev Anand stopped him: ‘One day, this will become your signature'

Shatrughan Sinha, today a household name known for his intense performances, booming voice, and iconic dialogue delivery, has acted in more than 150 films across Hindi, Bhojpuri, and Bengali cinema. But before his rise to fame, the journey was anything but smooth. Early in his career, Shatrughan faced repeated rejections, not for lack of talent, but for what many deemed 'unconventional looks.' In fact, he once considered getting plastic surgery to 'fix' his face. In a recent conversation with Curly Tales, he shared the deeply personal story of how close he came to altering his appearance, and how it was legendary actor Dev Anand who stopped him. 'Sapne toh bohot kuch the, par darr lagta tha ki ye kati-phati shakal lekar kaise actor banunga. Log kehte bhi the ki iss kati-pati shakal ka kuch karo… uss time par hota hai. Main toh chala bhi gaya tha, doctor se baat bhi kar li thi ki plastic surgery karwa kar isko theek karo… iska ilaaj karo. Aur unhone bola ki kar bhi denge. Lekin Dev saab ke paas main gaya… woh mujhe bohot maante the… aur unhone kaha ki kabhi mat karna. Tumhari jo personality hai, tum jab kaamyab ho jaoge toh yahi tumhara signature style ho jayega. Unhone kaha ki dekho, mere daanton ke beech mein ek gaddha hai, aur maine aaj tak usse fill up nahi karwaya hai… aur log aaj usse yaad rakhte hain. Toh jo tumko tumhara minus point lagta hai, wohi kal tumhara plus point banega. (I had big dreams, but I was afraid, how would I become an actor with such a scarred face? People would say, 'Do something about this scarred face.' At the time, I agreed. I even went to a doctor and asked for plastic surgery to fix it. The doctor said it could be done. But then I went to Dev saab, he believed in me deeply, and he told me, 'Never do it. Your personality is unique. One day, this will become your signature style.' He told me, 'Look, I have a gap between my teeth, and I've never filled it… now people remember me for that. What you think is a minus today could be your biggest plus tomorrow.) Thankfully, Shatrughan listened to Dev Anand's wise words. Today, the very features he once wanted to change have become part of his lasting screen identity. Beyond their personal bond, Shatrughan and Dev Anand also collaborated professionally. They shared screen space in at least three notable Hindi films in the early 1970s, Prem Pujari (1970), Gambler (1971), and Shareef Budmaash (1973).

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest spin-off in works, likely to be made from Chiefs point of view

Washington DC [US], July 5 (ANI): A spin-off for the small screens of an all-time movie classic, 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' is in the works, reported Deadline. The Oscar-winning movie was based on the book of the same title, written by the late writer Ken Kesey. The makers of the Jack Nicholson starrer film revealed that they have shared an agreement with the late writer Ken Kesey's wife (the book on which the movie was based) for the TV series adaptation of the film. The makers are planning to present the aftermath of the escape from the character Chief's point of view. Speaking on the indie filmmaking podcast CK Cafe, producer Paul Zaentz, the nephew of the film's original producer Saul Zaentz, as quoted by Deadline disclosed, "Just now, I've signed an agreement with Ken Kesey's widow to develop a TV series which we'll make through the point of view of the Chief for the first season. Following the first season, we'll see what happens to the Chief after he escapes [from the psychiatric hospital]," as quoted by Deadline. According to the outlet, Kesey, author of the film's source material, famously disavowed Milos Forman's 1975 classic, in part because it diverged from his novel, which was told from the point of view of Chief Bromden, aka the 'Chief' (memorably played in the film by Will Sampson). The makers have not yet revealed the details of the project. 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' revolves around a rebellious convict -- played in the movie by Jack Nicholson -- who is sent to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation in 1963 Oregon and encourages his docile companions to take more control of their lives and defy the tyrannical head nurse, according to Deadline. Chief Bromden is the towering half-Native American patient who pretends to be deaf and mute. Over time, the antics of the protagonist, McMurphy, coax him out of his disguise, and he becomes a symbol of powerful resistance and emancipation. In the podcast CK Cafe, Zaentz confirms that Fathom Events will re-release 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' this month on more than 1,000 screens across the U.S. to mark the 50th anniversary of the movie, reported Deadline. "I feel like a total fraud": Charlie Cox downplays his contribution, giving candid response to his Clair Obscur Expedition 33 success

(Image via Getty Images) Charlie Cox , popularly known as Marvel's Daredevil, made an unexpected mark within gaming with his Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's role. Despite him voicing the key character in the surprising 2025 game hit, Cox offered a disarmingly modest take on his involvement. He stunned the fans with a remarkably humble reaction, as he received all praise for his role in the game's success. The candid comments shared by him reveal an unexpected perspective on the game's acclaim. Charlie Cox gives an unexpectedly humble reaction to his Clair Obscur Expedition 33 role When fans and critics continued praising Charlie Cox's role in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the Daredevil star was caught off-guard. In one of the recent interviews, Cox didn't hold back feelings about all the praise coming his way. The actor confesses openly, "People keep saying how amazing it and congratulations and I feel like a total fraud." His honesty stems from his limited contribution—via voice recording and the lack of gaming experience. — bursinxmurdock (@bursinxmurdock) The star further added that his role was confined to a single and brief recording session that lasted only about 4 hours. "My agent asked me if I wanted to go and do a voice-over. I was in the studio for 4 hours… maybe," he stated. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dhamrai: Scholarships You Can Apply For (Start Now) Google Search Search Now Undo Despite the modesty shown by Cox, Gustave's role has been praised widely; after all, it adds an emotional depth to the protagonist of the game. As he has not played this critically acclaimed game, an overwhelmingly positive response caught him off-guard. He was thrilled about the achievement of the development team. A low-key role proved to be more in this breakout hit Unlike some big-budget games that go on and on with months of promotion, Cox was actually not a part of Expedition 33 marketing push. During its release, he was actually busy filming 'Daredevil: Born Again.' It left very little time for him to do the game-related press. Such lack of visibility led many fans to mistake Gustave's voice for another actor's, adding to Cox's fraudulent remark. Yet, the performance of the Daredevil star stood out. Some of his co-stars, including Ben Starr and Andy Serkis, praised Cox for his commitment. They said they are all not just tourists in the game. Despite a very brief recording time, Cox was able to deliver a gripping portrayal that helped elevate Expedition 33 to be Game of the Year contender. Developed by Sandfall Interactive, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has defied expectations. With the hybrid combat system and unique art style, the game has become a surprise hit. The game proves that even a small role can create a lasting impression with the emotional core of the story that was brought in by Coxs Gustave. While Cox might downplay contributions and feel like an accidental star, the fans and the critical do disagree. With the success of the game, Expedition 33 is a standout title today, and it opens the door for many more Hollywood talent to join in on gaming—especially after Cox's performance. Game On Season 1 kicks off with Sakshi Malik's inspiring story. Watch Episode 1 here
