Meet Chloe Qisha, the Malaysia-born singer rising fast with viral songs, magazine covers and sold-out shows in Europe (VIDEO)
The London-based artiste has been gaining attention with her alluring sounds and demeanour, from appearing on the cover of magazines to going on her first European tour — and all of this happened less than a year after her debut back in July 2024.
So, who exactly is Chloe Qisha?
Chloe, 26, was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, according to Bandwagon, and she moved to the UK to finish her A-Levels.
The aspiring therapist, who taught herself to play the piano and guitar, had been posting cover songs on her SoundCloud and YouTube since she was 16 years old.
However, her journey to stardom really began during the third year of her studies, when she was contacted by an Artist and Repertoire agent from a label who saw her cover videos.
This led to what Rolling Stone UK described as 'a circuit of meetings' that went on for a year.
She eventually met UK-based producer Rob Milton, who has worked with some of the UK's top artists, including Holly Humberstone and the now-banned-in-Malaysia band The 1975.
The link-up with Milton turned out to be just what Chloe needed, and they went on to work closely together, producing and co-writing several of Chloe's tracks.
Rocketing to fame
After gradually releasing three singles since her July debut and a self-titled EP in November last year, Chloe made her breakthrough.
Her Chloe Qisha EP was well received, and it even got a four out of five stars review by NME, who described the extended play as intelligent, soulful lyricism and pure pop.
A couple of months after her EP release, one of her hit singles, I Lied, I'm Sorry, gained new listeners from the other side of the world — thanks to US singer and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, who covered the song during her 'Kellyoke Cover' segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Chloe recently shared her excitement on Instagram after being named one of Spotify's Artists to Watch 2025, celebrating the inclusion of her single I Lied, I'm Sorry on the platform's curated playlist.
'It's been a wild ride with that track! (And my favourite to play live!),' she wrote on a post on Instagram.
She also appeared on the cover of several acclaimed magazines, including Rolling Stone UK and NME and was featured in Elle and Augustman.
She has played a slew of sold-out shows, including her debut performance at Bermondsey Social Club in London last October, while two of her most recent shows in March also sold out.
Next chapter: New EP and first European tour
She is currently preparing for the release of her second EP, set to drop on May 15.
In the lead-up to her upcoming EP, Chloe has released several new singles including 21st Century Cool Girl, Sex, Drugs & Existential Dread and Modern Romance.
She is also set to go on her first ever European tour starting this October 5, where she will be performing in several countries including Belgium, UK, France and Netherlands.
For those looking to catch her sooner, Chloe is also set to make an appearance at the UK's The Great Escape music festival this May 15 and is on the lineup for this year's Bergenfest 2025 in Norway.

(AP pic) LONDON : French-speaking King Charles III, who is hosting President Emmanuel Macron for a state visit starting on Tuesday, professes a long-standing love of France, describing it as 'an essential part' of his life. The visit, at the invitation of the monarch, is a rare privilege full of spectacular pomp and circumstance and an opportunity to strengthen a bilateral relationship which the king called 'indispensable' during his visit to France in September 2023. That visit, hailed as a symbol of 'cordial detente' after Brexit, demonstrated a closeness between the two heads of state on issues such as Ukraine, but also on a personal level. 'If you see their body language, and this was particularly noticeable during the state visit… it does seem that they get on tremendously well,' said monarchy expert Richard Fitzwilliams. Macron touched the monarch on the shoulder several times during the visit, a casual gesture unthinkable in the time of Elizabeth II, but the king took no offence. As well as Ukraine, the two men also share common ground on topics such as the environment. The king's first state visit abroad was originally scheduled to also take place in France in March 2023 but was postponed due to social unrest. The French couple's state visit will take place at Windsor Castle, as Buckingham Palace is undergoing renovations, and will follow the standard schedule. There are on average two of these visits per year, and preparation for them generally takes around a year. The Prince and Princess of Wales will greet the French presidential couple on landing and accompany them on the journey to Windsor, west of London, where they will be officially welcomed by the King and Queen. They will join a carriage procession through the town, attend a military parade and take lunch with the royal family at the castle. Macron and his wife will visit the Palace of Westminster in London on Tuesday, where the French president will address parliamentarians for a 'very political' speech, according to the Elysee Palace. The day will end with a state dinner, including speeches by the King and the French leader in front of some 150 guests. On Wednesday, Emmanuel Macron will lay flowers on the grave of Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022, at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle and will tour the gardens. He will attend Thursday's Franco-British summit, the second since they resumed in 2023 after being suspended due to Brexit, before leaving with his wife later in the day. US President Donald Trump has also been invited for a state visit this year and is expected in September, but no date has yet been officially announced.

Asian Film Alliance Network partners with Asean Film & TV Summit 2025 to bridge Asian, European film sectors
KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — The Asian Film Alliance Network (AFAN) has announced a partnership with the Asean Film & TV Summit 2025 (AFTS), aiming to bridge Asian and European film industries. The summit, organised by the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) alongside Malaysia's Chairmanship of Asean 2025, will run from July 22 to 25 in Kuala Lumpur. This collaboration marks an expansion of AFAN's initiatives outside its traditional events at Cannes and Busan, bringing AFAN Roundtable and AFAN Spotlight to Southeast Asia. The events, aimed at fostering collaboration, will feature discussions on vital issues impacting the Asian audiovisual sector. Commenting on the initiative, AFAN's secretary general Lorna Tee said the regional exchange of information has led to connections that solidify Asian identity, strengthening the region's film and TV ecosystem. This initiative is supported by AFAN's partnerships with the European Film Agency Directors Association (EFAD) and the French Foreign Affairs Ministry. Delegates from across Asia and Europe, including film agency leaders from Malaysia, South Korea, and the Philippines, will converge in Kuala Lumpur.
