2025 Emmy nominations are announced
Two categories were unveiled exclusively on "CBS Mornings" — the nominees for outstanding reality competition and for outstanding talk series.
The rest of this year's nominees will be announced at 11:30 a.m. ET (8:30 a.m. PT) by actors Harvey Guillén ("What We Do in the Shadows") and Brenda Song ("Running Point").
Last year's Emmys were a coronation for FX, with the cable network's "Shōgun" and "The Bear" both earning wins in the double digits, though the latter missed out on the top award for comedies, which instead went to HBO's "Hacks." Netflix's biggest player was in the limited series categories, where "Baby Reindeer" won multiple trophies.
The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, Sept. 14, with comedian Nate Bargatze as host.

'It's scary at moments': Creators say 'Wednesday' season 2 will bring real stakes and fear
If you thought 'Wednesday' was creepy and kooky before, season 2 is about to crank the horror up several notches. According to the show's creators, Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, the new season won't just flirt with spooky but dive headfirst into intense territory. When speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Millar said: 'There's some moments which are definitely horror movie-worthy. We have that in season 1, but I think this season there are moments that are very intense, I'll say.' He added: 'Season 2 definitely has some moments which are more straightforward horror, and we're very aware that the show is watched by everybody in terms of the age groups. 'We want to make sure that it's never torture porn, but that there's enough bite to it that it feels that there are real stakes and that people die in this world, and it's scary at moments. And I think that's the great tonal shift that the show makes between comedy and horror.' After getting an early glimpse of 'Wednesday' season 2 through the official trailer (which included the first six minutes of the premiere) fans were recently treated to even more footage thanks to a brand-new trailer from the streaming service. In a chilling moment, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) has a premonition that her friend Enid (Emma Myers) is going to die, and that she'll be the one responsible. The creators also teased a shift toward a more 'complex mystery' in season 2, and it looks like Wednesday's unsettling premonition might be at the heart of it. Nelly is final Minnesota State Fair 2025 Grandstand act to be announced
It will be getting "Hot in Herre" at the Minnesota State Fair when Nelly takes the Grandstand stage to perform. The fair announced its final Grandstand act for 2025 on Tuesday. Nelly will perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, with Ja Rule, Mýa and Ying Yang Twins. Tickets go on sale Friday. Seeing the southern hip-hop artist behind hits like "Country Grammar" and "Ride Wit Me" will cost you a minimum of $54. This will be Nelly's first time playing the Grandstand. Previously announced Grandstand shows include Meghan Trainor, Old Dominion, Melissa Etheridge, The Avett Brothers and Def Leppard. The fair runs from Aug. 21 to Sept. 1. Tickets will be $2 more expensive this year. Last week, the fair announced its new foods for 2025, including chicken-fried bacon fries, dill pickle iced tea and more.
