The Indian men's cricket team is in Manchester these days for the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, which is scheduled to take place at Old Trafford from July 23 to 27. Ahead of the much-awaited game, Indian players got a chance to meet with players of Manchester United Football Club.
In several pictures shared on Instagram first by Adidas' official handle and then by BCCI, the likes of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant can be seen playing football with the Red Devils, whereas star Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj can be seen bowling to former Man Utd captain and star defender Harry Maguire.
Manchester United players have rejoined the squad for the preseason, and on Sunday they got a chance to interact with Indian cricket stars.
In several pictures going viral on the internet, Gill can be seen posing for a photo with Bruno Fernandes, Siraj with Amad Diallo, Jasprit Bumrah chatting with Mason Mount and Harry Maguire, and India's head coach Gautam Gambhir posing for a photo with Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim.
In the 2025-26 edition of the Premier League, 20-time champions Manchester United will open their campaign on August 17 at home against Arsenal.
Must-win game for India
The fourth Test of the Anderson-Trophy Trophy at Old Trafford in Manchester is a must-win for the Shubman Gill-led side. If the visitors lose the match in Manchester next week or it ends in a draw, then India's chances of winning a Test series in England after 18 years will be over.
For the fourth Test at Old Trafford, world No. 1 Test bowler Jasprit Bumrah is expected to feature in the playing XI. It was reported earlier this week that Bumrah will miss the game as part of his workload management, but after injuries to Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh, the dynamics have changed significantly, and now there are more chances of Bumrah's participating than skipping.
It will, however, be interesting to see if Rishabh Pant makes it to the playing XI as wicketkeeper-batter. Pant suffered a finger injury on Day 1 of the Lord's Test, and due to that, he didn't keep in the red-ball match at the Home of Cricket after 34 overs in the first innings.
