This is believed to be to to preserve the cultural and spiritual authenticity of the text. Film To Be On Par with Dune and Avatar Backing the project is producer Namit Malhotra, who previously worked on Hollywood VFX blockbusters like 'Dune' and 'The Dark Knight', in a bold statement, declared that the film will set a new paradigm for Indian cinema. In a statement, he said, "Our movie will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the biggest productions in the world like the Dune and Avatar." Huge Budget The VFX-heavy adaptation, which will be released in two parts, promises a grand visual spectacle with state-of-the-art technology and global-standard production design. With a reported budget exceeding Rs 4,000 crore, 'Ramayana' is poised to be one of the most ambitious cinematic undertakings in Indian film history. While filming of the first part is complete, the team reportedly still has portions of the second part to shoot. 'Ramayana' Part 1 is set to hit the big screens on Diwali 2026 and subsequently the second part on Diwali 2027.
