Dubai land Department recognises 10 real estate firms surpassing Emiratisation goals under the ‘Dubai Real Estate Broker Programme'
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: In a move that reflects Dubai's commitment to promoting professional empowerment and the active participation of Emiratis in key economic sectors, Dubai Land Department (DLD), represented by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency, organised a special ceremony to honour the real estate brokerage firms most dedicated to hiring UAE nationals, as part of the 'Dubai Real Estate Broker Programme.'
The ceremony was held on Thursday at Dubai Land Department's headquarters, in the presence of His Excellency Omar Hamad BuShehab, Director General of DLD, along with several CEOs and representatives from the real estate sector.
10 leading real estate brokerage firms were honoured during the ceremony in recognition of their pioneering role and active contribution in exceeding the programme's key Emiratisation targets. This achievement qualifies them for additional points that enhance their classification with DLD, reflecting a genuine commitment to advancing Emiratisation in the real estate sector and boosting the participation of national talent across its various fields.
The list of honoured companies included Harbour Real Estate Broker, On Plan Real Estate, Dirham for Real Estate Brokerage, AlRuwad Real Estate, AKN Properties, Exp Real Estate, FAM Real Estate Broker, Real Estate Codes, PSI Real Estate, and D&B Properties.
Mohammed Ali Al Badwawi, Acting CEO of the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), said: 'What we are witnessing today is a true example of a conscious partnership between the public and private sectors. As a result, each honoured company under the 'Dubai Real Estate Broker Programme' has successfully employed more than twenty Emirati men and women. The programme has exceeded its targets in a short period, thanks to the pivotal role of these companies, which have demonstrated that investing in Emirati talent is a strategic choice that reflects institutional maturity and long-term vision. We reaffirm our commitment to expanding this programme and enhancing its impact in building a more balanced and sustainable real estate market.'
This achievement marks a significant milestone in the programme, led by Dubai Land Department, to open new career opportunities for Emiratis and prepare them to take on leadership roles within the real estate brokerage sector. The programme is built on an integrated system of training, qualification, and professional support, in close collaboration with private sector companies that serve as key partners in realising its objectives.

Dubai: Indian, Emirati, Pakistani investors lead in tokenised property deals
More than Dh9 million worth of deals through tokenisation have been made in Dubai within a month of selling properties through Prypco Mint, Mena's first real estate tokenisation platform. According to data shared by Prypco Mint, Indians, Emiratis, Pakistanis, Canadians, Americans, and British topped the list of investors by investment amount. More than 50 nationalities based in the UAE have invested in tokenised projects. Amira Sajwani, founder and CEO of Prypco, said this strong demand in the first month of the launch of tokenisation of real estate demonstrates how strongly the market is gravitating towards tokenised real estate. 'Investors today want flexibility, transparency, and the ability to participate in high-value property markets with lower entry barriers. We're excited to see demand for tokenised properties growing every day, as more people recognise this as the future of real estate investment,' she said. The latest projects that were fully funded were two apartments in Sobha Creek Vistas Grande and Liv Residence in Dubai Marina, both located in some of Dubai's most sought-after communities. The Sobha Creek Vistas Grande property was fully funded in just 10 minutes by 213 investors from 38 nationalities, with an average investment size of Dh7,512. Meanwhile, Liv Residence in Dubai Marina achieved full funding in an impressive three minutes, attracting 258 investors from 47 nationalities, with an average investment size of Dh7,210. In March, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) launched the pilot phase of the 'Real Estate Tokenisation Project' in collaboration with the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (Vara) and Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) through SandBox Real Estate. Real estate tokenisation transforms real estate assets into digital tokens using blockchain technology. Each asset is divided into shares based on an investor's budget and financial strategy, enabling fractional property ownership. This innovative approach marks a significant shift by allowing investors to acquire a portion of a property without fully purchasing it, leveraging advanced technology. Unlike crowdfunding, which grants investors access to the real estate market with small investments through digital platforms, tokenisation offers a distinct and more structured model for real estate investment. According to DLD estimates, Dubai's real estate tokenisation sector is projected to reach Dh60 billion by 2033, accounting for seven per cent of the emirate's total real estate transactions.

UAE: This hotel produces drinking water from air, serves it for free
A hotel in the UAE is doing something extraordinary and in a sustainable way — it is producing its own drinking water directly from the air. The property doesn't rely on seawater, municipal supply, or underground sources. Instead, it captures moisture from the atmosphere and turns it into pure, mineral-rich water, served to guests every day for free. This system, known as an 'air-to-water' plant, has allowed the Bahi Ajman Palace to completely eliminate the use of plastic water bottles on its premises. According to the management, hundreds of kilograms of plastic waste have been removed from the hotel's operations in recent months. 'This water doesn't come from the sea, the ground, or any utility line; it comes straight from the air,' said Iftikhar Hamdani, area general manager, Bahi Palace Ajman. 'We are harnessing the moisture in the atmosphere, running it through layers of filters and UV purification, and bottling it in reusable glass bottles. The result is clean, drinkable water that tastes great, and doesn't harm the planet.' How it works The process begins with the machine pulling in humid air from the environment. The air is cooled until the moisture condenses into water droplets, similar to how water forms on a cold bottle taken out of the fridge. These droplets are then collected, filtered, and passed through several purification stages, including UV light and mineral enrichment. The sterilised glass bottles, heated with steam and water at 85 degrees Celcius, are filled using a hygienic bottling system and sealed with expiry dates that are valid for up to three months. The entire setup is monitored by the hotel and maintained by the plant manufacturing company, and the water is regularly tested and approved by government health authorities. 'It's not just eco-friendly, it's safe and refreshing,' said Hamdani. 'The water is of high quality, certified, and guests have been loving it.' Daily output and usage The hotel began using the air-to-water system in January this year and currently produces 1,000 litres of drinking water every day. On regular days, around 700 litres is enough to meet guest demand. During banquets or large events, production is increased to full 1,000 litres to cater to everyone. Before installing the system, the hotel used over 700 plastic bottles a day. The switch to glass bottles and in-house water production has helped the hotel make a meaningful impact on reducing single-use plastic. 'Thousands of bottles were going to the trash every month. That's just not good for the environment,' said Hamdani. 'By eliminating plastic, we have taken one big step toward responsible hospitality.' Sustainability 'My passion is sustainability. But more than passion, I believe it's a responsibility,' said Hamdani. 'Hotels have a role to play in protecting the environment, and this is a clear way to contribute.' The investment has also made sense financially. The hotel expects to recover the cost of the air-to-water system in under two years. With no ongoing expenses for bottled water and fewer logistics around ordering, storing, and disposing of plastic, the long-term savings are substantial. 'This system is commercially viable,' he said. Positive guest feedback Guests have been impressed not just by the taste of the water, but also by the story behind it. Many have taken an interest in how the process works and have interacted with the housekeeping team to learn more. 'People are surprised when they hear that the water came from air,' said Hamdani. 'They ask questions, they are curious, and that's great. It opens up conversations about sustainability and gets people thinking.' Setting an example The initiative is successful for the hotel and shows how innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. 'We live in a place where humidity is available in the air for most of the year. Why not use that to create clean drinking water and reduce our impact,' said Hamdani.
