Benson Boone, Taylor Swift, Universal Music Publishing Group Win Top Honors at 2025 BMI Pop Awards
'Any of these songs that you hear, you'd not be hearing without him,' said Boone, who also received two awards for the aforementioned hits. 'The producers and the writers and the people I get to be in the room with mean everything to me, because it does make my job fun, especially when I can bond with those people and be friends with those people in and out of the studio, it means so much to me. So if you're trying to be a musician, you're trying to play shows, you're trying to write songs, you're trying to release songs, find people you love and make it something that you love because I promise you it's the best thing ever when you find gold in a room.'

Sabrina Carpenter Rumored For Marvel MCU Role
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has several high-profile projects in the works, including a new X-Men movie that will reintroduce the iconic superhero franchise as a full-fledged part of the MCU. As such, many big stars are in talks to appear in the project or its follow-ups, and now Sabrina Carpenter is the latest to be rumored for a role in the MCU. While Carpenter is finding ongoing success for her music career, she does have experience in acting, and previously appeared in the likes of 2016's Adventures in Babysitting and 2022's Emergency . Now, according to insider @MyTimeToShineH on X, Carpenter could be setting her sights on playing a major superhero next. In fact, the insider claims to know which part Carpenter is in talks for with Marvel Studios. Excitingly enough, it's a part that would be perfect for Carpenter, especially if the character becomes a recurring figure in the MCU's plans for the X-Men franchise. The following rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, but according to the insider, Sabrina Carpenter is specifically in talks to play the X-Men character Dazzler. The fan-favorite superhero is known for having a double life as a hugely successful popstar. With the success of Carpenter's music career and other similar pop stars like Taylor Swift, many fans have been eager to see Dazzler up on the big screen. In fact, Swift is one other celebrity that's been consistently rumored to play Dazzler in the MCU. With casting in such early stages, however, it's unknown who exactly Marvel Studios has talked to and whether or not Dazzler is even in the mix. If the rumor is to be believed, however, then Sabrina Carpenter could be a great choice for Dazzler in a new X-Men project even if it isn't someone else like Taylor Swift. As always, we'll have to see how this situation develops. Hopefully we'll have more concrete info soon regarding the possibility of Sabrina Carpenter joining the MCU, however, especially with Dazzler being such a perfect fit for her to play.

Kendrick Lamar's ‘GNX' Makes History As Longest-Running No. 1 Album On Billboard Top Rap Albums Chart
Kendrick Lamar has made history as GNX becomes the longest-running No. 1 album to top Billboard's Top Rap Albums chart. The award-winning LP has topped the chart for 22 weeks, taking the crown from Pop Smoke's posthumous album, Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon which held the spot for 21 weeks. GNX was named Album of the Year at the 2025 BET Awards and is a strong contender for the 2026 Grammys. When he accepted his win back in June, Lamar expressed, 'I ain't been here in a long time, but I always kept it in my heart. BET always make sure that they representing the culture right and always put me in the midst of the cycle of what we represent and that's real, true, down-to-earth music that people can feel. So, I always give my heart to BET.' The rapper and SZA also have the highest grossing co-headlining tour in history. Their Grand National Tour has grossed over $256 million, averaging $11.1 million per show and they've sold a whopping total 1.1 million tickets across their domestic trek. During their Maryland stop in mid-June, SZA praised her longtime collaborator onstage. 'I thought it was just a jam session. [but] he put me onto the biggest moment of my life. This is also the biggest moment of my life,' said the SOS singer while getting emotional. 'I'm so thankful, and I'm so thankful to y'all.' The two shared a loving hug before continuing the show. Lamar's GNX came two years after Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. In a February interview with Apple Music, he explained how GNX came about. '[With] GNX, I felt it was just a perfect time 'cause not only the energy was lost, but it was an energy that was bubbling inside of me as well. I wanted to go back to the forefront of the bite and the grit of rap […] It was a great transition from 'Mr. Morale,' because that was my most intimate. I wanted to go inside my psyche and my withdrawals and see how it connects with the public and who can relate. So, during this time around I think it was necessary to come out of that cocoon and feel like, 'Okay, I've arrived now. I can spread my wings and show every state of who I am as far as Kendrick Lamar.''More from Drake-UMG Court Hearing Dives Into Context And Success Of Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" Clipse, Pharrell Preview Kendrick Lamar's Highly Anticipated "Chains & Whips" Verse I Took My Compton A** To Toronto For The Kendrick Lamar Concert.
