UBS Reiterates Price Target for PayPal Amid New TPV Category Breakdown

PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL) ranks among the best fundamental stocks to buy according to hedge funds. On June 23, UBS maintained its $75 price target and Neutral rating for PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL). Considering their varied contributions to gross profit, the firm noted the importance of understanding the different Total Payment Volume (TPV) categories that make up PayPal's operations. In order to better identify its business divisions, PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL) unveiled three newly defined Total Payment Volume (TPV) categories at its 2025 Investor Day. These include P2P & Other Consumer, which covers peer-to-peer payments and debit card activity; Branded Checkout (Online), which now includes Pay with Venmo and eBay transactions; and PSP, which includes Braintree and the majority of services previously included under 'Other Merchant Services.' UBS pointed out that, according to its prior definition, Branded Checkout accounts for roughly 30% of volume but generates roughly two-thirds of transaction gross profit. PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL), based in San Jose, California, operates a technology platform that enables digital payments for merchants and customers worldwide. The company provides payment services under several brands, including PayPal, Credit, Braintree, Venmo, Xoom, and Zettle. Elon Musk Is Back, Defending The Troubled Cybertruck

FALLON/AFP via Getty Images) Elon Musk is back in form at Tesla and championing the Cybertruck, which has taken a nosedive in deliveries. On Thursday, Musk responded with flexing bicep and flame emojis to a post defending the Cybertruck as 'the apotheosis of design and utility." That post went on to call Cybertruck detractors 'tasteless hordes' and that abandoning the novel design for a 'mediocre me-too creation would be tragic and unacceptable.' The original offending post asked if it's time for Tesla to build a 'normal truck.' Cybertruck is tough – in case you forgot On X, Musk also stepped in to promote the Cybertruck's toughness, which has always been part of Tesla's marketing strategy ever since the armor-glass-smashing event in 2019. The most recent (June 26) X video shows the Cybertruck door getting hit by a shopping cart, resulting in no discernible damage. The video also shows a variety of hard substances and/or items hitting the door and window of the vehicle without causing any noticeable damage. Cybertruck scrutinized as deliveries fall Deliveries of the Cybertruck plummeted in the first quarter of this year—essentially cut in half—falling to 6,406 versus 12,991 in the fourth quarter of last year, according to Cox Automotive. Tesla has been discounting the Cybertruck on its new inventory website in response. And used Cybertrucks, many with low-mileage, have also seen a steep drop in price from a year ago. Trade-in value for the truck has also been a shock for some owners, after Tesla began accepting trade-ins.

LeBron James future with Lakers put in doubt by Rich Paul statement

LeBron James is exercising his $52.6 million player option for next season, his agent Rich Paul told ESPN on Sunday, but an accompanying statement by the Klutch Sports CEO puts a real question mark on whether James will play that season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Paul told ESPN that James is evaluating what's best for him at this stage of his career as the Lakers build for the future. According to Shams Charania, James is uncertain about the Lakers roster. Though he's supportive of the team building its future around Luka Doncic, he wants to contend for an NBA title. "LeBron wants to compete for a championship," Paul said. "He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all. We are very appreciative of the partnership that we've had for eight years with Jeanie [Buss] and Rob [Pelinka] and consider the Lakers as a critical part of his career. "We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what's best for him." Advertisement If nothing else, this statement puts pressure on the Lakers to make more win-now moves this offseason in order to keep James. But it sure sounds like a potential split is on the table..
