Director Indra Kumar's 1997 film Ishq became a major success at the box office after its release. Starring actors Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Kajol and Ajay Devgn, the film gained immense praise for its humor and soundtrack. However, did you know the movie took 300 days to be made?
In a recent interview with The Mashable, Kajol recalled how she used to be alone on the film set as Aamir and Juhi had a group of their own. This also became one of the reasons, how she became close to Ajay Devgn. 'Aamir was very friendly with the director and so was Juhi so these three were a close knit group and then there was Ajay and me. And eventually, it was just me. There were certain days on set when I was not willing to talk to anybody', told Kajol.
Explaining her reason behind isolating herself on set, Kajol shared, 'We spent 300 days together. That film took 300 days to be made. We have no idea what we did for so many days. We used to spend 8-10 hours on set every day. I can't be talking to all of them at all times. I can try to be social but I can't constantly be chatting.' The actress said even an extrovert needs that time to recharge.

Ishq also starred actors Dalip Tahil, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Johnny Lever, and Mohan Joshi in important roles. Anu Malik composed the film's music.
Previously, on the film's 26th anniversary, Kajol had shared a throwback picture with a quirky note. However, it was Ajay Devgn's comment that stole the limelight where he wrote, 'Wasn't this the film where I proposed to you with your own ring?'
Kajol and Ajay Devgn arguably met on the sets of Hulchul (1995). Their love blossomed on the sets of Ishq. Two years later, in 1999, they decided to tie the knot. They have been married for 26 years and are parents to a daughter Nysa and son Yug.

Sardaar Ji 3 Row: Naseeruddin Shah Backs Diljit Dosanjh, Slams Director For Casting Hania Aamir

New Delhi: Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah came in support of singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh amid the ongoing controversy against him for collaborating with Pakistani artist Hania Aamir in his film 'Sardaar Ji 3'. Amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, Diljit's recent collaboration with Pakistani artist Hania Aamir is facing massive backlash from social media, celebrities and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). However, amid all this, Naseeruddin Shah has now expressed his support for Diljit, clarifying that the singer wasn't responsible for the film's casting, and expressed his disapproval of restricting personal interactions between India and Pakistan. He wrote, "I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT. The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they've got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film, the director was. But no one knows who he is, whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned. What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan." He further expressed love for his "close friends and relatives" who reside in Pakistan. He wrote, "I have close relatives and some dear friends there and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever i feel like it. And my response to those who will say, "Go to Pakistan", is "GO TO KAILASA" FWICE has officially boycotted Dosanjh for his collaboration with Pakistani actress Aamir, stating that the singer-actor's association with the Pakistani artists has allegedly "disrespected" the "Indian sentiments," especially following the terror attack at Pahalgam on April 22. "It is important to bring to your notice that the said film (Border 2) features actor Diljit Dosanjh, who has been officially boycotted by FWICE owing to his involvement with individuals and content that have deeply disrespected Indian sentiments, especially by associating with Pakistani artists known for their anti-lndia views, and participating in projects filmed in sensitive border locations like Pahalgam immediately following terror incidents targeting our armed forces," the letter read. Earlier, through a social media post, the makers of Border 2 announced that the film has entered its third schedule at the National Defence Academy in Pune. With this in the background, the film union body has requested Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh to "withdraw" any permission granted to the 'Border 2' makers for filming in its premises. "The NDA, being a national symbol of military training and sacrifice, must not be used as a backdrop for a film involving an actor who is currently under public and professional boycott due to acts that undermine the spirit of national unity and hurt the sentiments of our defence community." The letter further read, "ln this context, we strongly urge your good offices to withdra* qny permission granted for the shooting of the said film at the NDA property in Pune, and to initiate necessary action to ensure that the integrity of sensitive defence installations is not compromised or associated with individuals facing legitimate public outrage." FWICE has also issued a "noon-cooperative directive" to singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh after his collaboration with Hania Aamir in 'Sardaar Ji 3'.The film union body has demanded an unconditional apology from the actor for allegedly hurting the "national sentiments" and disregarding the "sacrifices" of the Indian soldiers by his actions. After the massive backlash from the film fraternity, FWICE and social media, the makers of Sardaar Ji 3 have announced that they will not release their movie in India. Meanwhile, 'Border 2' is the upcoming sequel to the 1997 blockbuster 'Border' and has a powerhouse production team, including Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. The film is being directed by Anurag Singh.

‘Naseeruddin Shah is frustrated and restless': Ashoke Pandit slams actor for supporting Diljit Dosanjh in Sardaar Ji 3 controversy, actor deletes post

While the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has waged a war against singer-turned-actor Diljit Dosanjh and even issued an official directive demanding his boycott and removal from the upcoming Border 2 for working with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his latest film Sardaar Ji 3, the organisation's move has not been well-received by all in the artistic community. Recently, legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah had come out in support of Diljit while also taking a swipe at FWICE. His comments have since drawn sharp criticism from producer-director Ashoke Pandit, who claimed they reflected Shah's 'frustration and restlessness.' In a now-deleted post on Facebook, Shah had noted, 'I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT. The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they've got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film, the director was. But no one knows who he is whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned.' Hitting back at the actor, Pandit told news agency ANI, 'We are not surprised, not shocked by Naseeruddin Shah's response to Diljit Dosanjh's entire episode. He calls us Jumla party, he calls us goons. The educated, versatile actor, senior person in the industry, calling us goons proves the frustration and kind of restlessness of Naseeruddin Shah.' Ashoke Pandit also serves as the president of the Indian Film & Television Director's Association (IFTDA), one of the several associations affiliated with FWICE. 'Naseeruddin Shah says that he (Diljit) was not responsible for casting. Well, I would like to tell Naseeruddin Shah that he was an actor. He could have refused to work with Pakistani actors,' he added. Ashoke Pandit is known for bankrolling propagandistic films such as The Accidental Prime Minister (2019) and 72 Hoorain (2023). He also directed the movie Sheen (2004) and television shows like Tere Mere Sapne, Hanste Khelte and Muqammal. Also Read | Sardaar Ji 3: Diljit Dosanjh shares film's overwhelming response in Pakistan as it's a no-show in India He continued: 'It's very sad that I have to, on behalf of the Federation of Western India's senior employees, explain to him the real situation between Pakistan and India. Naseeruddin Shah, from the last 40 years, Pakistan has been abusing and attacking India. They have killed people, they have raped people, they have massacred people in this country of ours. It's not only Pahalgam. It is the latest attack. Before that, Pulwama, Uri, Mumbai Blast, 26/11, there are so many attacks Pakistan is responsible. And Pakistan is a terror nation.' 'For us, our country comes first. So, our response to the entire episode, our response to the entire film Sardaar Ji 3, according to us is right. Let me tell you Naseer sahab, we have taken a call to issue a non-cooperation against Diljit and we have already issued,' Pandit added. Following the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year, FWICE had imposed a blanket ban on artistes from Pakistan. Amid this, the Punjabi horror comedy Sardaar Ji 3 arrived, featuring actor Hania Aamir, which irked the federation. It then demanded an unconditional apology from Diljit, accusing him of hurting 'national sentiments' and disregarding the 'sacrifices' of Indian soldiers. A formal 'Non-Cooperation Directive' was also issued against him. Commenting on the controversy, Diljit told BBC Asian Network, 'When the film was made, the situation was fine. This film was shot in February. A lot of things happened after that which are not in our control. When it (Pahalgam attack) happened, the producers knew that they can't release this film in India anymore. But, they decided to release it overseas as they have invested a lot of money in the film. They will 100% suffer losses because they are removing an entire territory. The truth is when I signed the film, the situation was just fine. Now, when the producers want to release it overseas, I will have to stand with them and support their decision.'
