Why is Rihanna in Belgium this weekend? Hint: Smurfs
BRUSSELS (AP) — Belgium rolled out the blue carpet Saturday for Rihanna and other stars who turned out for the world premiere of the new Smurf movie.
Rihanna produced ″Smurfs″ and voices Smurfette in the summer family film, a live-action animated reboot that takes the little creatures on a Smurfette-led rescue mission to save Papa Smurf.
At Saturday's showing in Brussels, the visibly pregnant Grammy winner chatted with children, linked arms with someone dressed as her cartoon alter-ego, and joined the audience arm in arm with A$AP Rocky.
Film director Chris Miller held Smurf toys and other cast members at the premiere included James Corden and Dan Levy. Many of the guests wore a shade of Smurf-ish blue.
The movie premieres in the U.S. on July 18.
Belgian comics artist Peyo created the Smurfs — known here as ″Schtroumpfs″ — and the Belgian capital embraced the premiere with a weekend of events.
It took place in central Brussels, not far from a Smurf museum. The city's famed Mannekin Pis statue was dressed for the occasion as No Name Smurf. The city's Grand-Place held Smurf-themed events all weekend, and tourist buses and train cars were decorated in blue.

AWGE By A$AP Rocky Collection Highlights Rapper's Recent Legal Woes

(Photo by Francisco Gomez de Villaboa/WWD via Getty Images) Collections by famous people always draw a bit of anticipation, the least of which is the chance to see the celebrity-turned-fashion-designer walk the runway. Such was the case for the debut of the AWGE line by A$AP Rocky held Friday night in Paris. While it was ultimately worth the wait, the circumstances of the production tested many a guest's patience. Held at the Church of the Star, the 'Obligatory Fashion' show had guests cueing up around 8:30 PM for the 9 PM show. Outside were members of the brand's unofficial posse, generally dressed in baggy jeans, T-shirts, and hat and headscarf combos, chanted 'Obligatory', the show's name, as VIPs began to filter in while the crowd waited. PARIS, FRANCE - JUNE 27: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY - For Non-Editorial use please seek approval from ... More Fashion House) Rihanna, Riot and ASAP Rocky attend the AWGE Menswear Spring/Summer 2026 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on June 27, 2025 in Paris, France. (Photo by) Once Rihanna and the couple's son Riot arrived, guests were allowed to enter at 9:45 PM. In the church entryway, an AWGE SWAT team, yielding huge assault rifles, greeted the crowd who walked through makeshift metal detectors, part of the set design. On the ceiling of the Neo-Gothic church, a 'fresco' was projected depicting symbols of American justice (or repression depending on your viewpoint ) such as a judges bench, the Statue of Liberty, a Supreme courthouse, the American flag as well as other imagery such as angels, the dollar bill, Jesus Christ, cross grave markers and figures wearing streetwear with slogans such as 'Don't Be Dumb', an expression gracing a banner the posse outside was holding. Guests such as Phoenix Suns' Center Nick Richards and Trey Murphy III, the Pelicans' shooting guard, sweltered for about another 50 minutes in the church that wasn't equipped with any ventilation, a typical phenomenon here in scorching Paris, and water sponsors are also non-existent, apparently. Once RiRi and the baby made a ceremonious second entrance to the show, the 'defile' finally began at 10:35. The runway was dotted with several more 'metal detectors' as the show was a nod to the recent legal kerfuffles Rocky had experienced and expressed through uniforms and institutional dress while simultaneously raising 'ghetto' design tropes to luxury. This idea was furthered in the A$AP Rocky soundtrack that played. Reflecting his legal ordeal were suits worn with bullet-proof vests, a simple double-breasted white suit tightly fitted on a female model, and male models in various suiting accessorized with the legal-size paper and folders. In nods to his uptown New York upbringing, the streetwear side of things included layered looks like parkers worn off the shoulders, flannel styles, often as a skirt over pants, baggy pants with bandanas hanging off them, usually accessorized with a 40 in brown paper bag, only this time with a rose sticking out of the bottle neck. A deck of cards print graced several styles. The Puma sneaker collab debuted, and models wore the rapper's Ray-Ban collaboration. Guests rushed the exit for some fresh air. For those who didn't endure the heat, the show was livestreamed globally by Cash App, who recently partnered with Rocky to receive $1 million in unexpected Cash App Afterpay balance payoffs. Or they can stop by the AWGE Sample Sale Pop-Up in Le Marais, Paris, on June 29th and 30th.

Beyonce Powers Through ‘Cowboy Carter Tour' Technical Malfunction: ‘Thank Y'all for Your Patience'
Beyoncé expertly handled a technical malfunction during her Saturday, June 28, hometown Cowboy Carter Tour concert. Beyoncé, 43, was performing '16 Carriages' from a fake red convertible suspended above Houston's NRG Stadium when the prop vehicle began tilting mid-air. 'Stop,' the Grammy winner repeated five times in footage shared via social media, pausing her musical rendition. 'Thank y'all for your patience.' Beyoncé calmly sat on the prop while crew members slowly lowered her to the stage, where she stood up to thunderous applause. Beyonce Becomes 1st Black Woman to Achieve No. 1 Country Album With 'Cowboy Carter' The pop star kicked off her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour in May, fresh off the record's respective Best Country Album and Album of the Year wins at the Grammys earlier this year. 'I just feel very full and very honored. It's been many, many years, and I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all of the hard work,' Beyoncé said in her February speech, taking home the coveted Album of the Year trophy for the first time. 'I want to dedicate this to Ms. [Linda] Martell, and I hope we just keep pushing forward, opening doors. God bless y'all. Thank you so much.' Not only does Beyoncé love Cowboy Carter, but so do her fans and collaborators. 'I gotta say Beyoncé had the greatest country album of all time,' Willie Jones, who joined her on the song 'Just for Fun,' exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2024. 'And I'm so honored to be a part [of it.]' Stars React to Beyonce's Country Album: Lainey Wilson, Bobby Bones and More Jones, 30, further gushed that it was a 'super honor' to work with Beyoncé. 'To get the call and answer the call and pull up one idea, accept the call, and just even listen to the album,' he recalled to Us. 'Some of my friends from Nashville are also a part of the album. It's a momentous occasion, and I love that Beyoncé opened up so many people's ears to what she can do. It is like [a] dream come true, honestly.' Since the release of the country LP, Beyoncé has hit the road with her family by her side — and on the stage. Beyoncé's daughters, Blue Ivy, 13, and Rumi, 7, frequently join her to perform 'Protector,' among other songs, while her husband, Jay-Z, recently made a cameo during a Paris concert for a surprise medley. Beyoncé and Jay-Z, 55, have been married since 2008. In addition to Blue and Rumi, they also share son Sir, Rumi's twin brother.

Denver zoo closes early over the weekend to prevent wild teens from pulling off TikTok-inspired ‘takeover' trend
The Denver Zoo closed early on Saturday ahead of a planned teen 'takeover' of the park that went viral on TikTok as part of an alarming trend among youths that is wreaking havoc in public spaces across the country. Zoo staff decided to shutter the park to prevent the so-called 'takeover' before it could happen. They weren't entirely sure what the coup they put a stop to would've looked like, but knew they didn't want to see a repeat of others that have cropped up around the country this summer. AP 'We don't know the exact nature of the event, but we know previous events organized in a similar fashion have led to some disruption to local businesses, damage, vandalism, things like that,' zoo spokesperson Jake Kubie told KUSA. 'We don't believe we're a target of anything. We haven't received any information that suggests that there is gonna be any impact to us. We're always leaning towards caution over everything else.' Advertisement Last weekend, one of the planned events took Denver's Northfield Mall by storm as more than 300 unruly teenagers descended onto the property and started fighting each other following a call-out to meet at the shopping center on TikTok. Following the early closure, zoo staff were still on high alert, but no one showed. Still, other community advocates and police spent the rest of their Saturday afternoon patrolling around Denver's City Park in the sweltering heat just to be extra cautious. Denver Post via Getty Images Advertisement Across the country on the East Coast, Garden State teenagers haven't been on their best behavior either. In just one week, two separate TikTok-fueled pop-ups spurred hundreds of teens to shut down a mall and a carnival that were mere miles apart. In Edison, New Jersey, more than 300 youth turned the Menlo Park Mall into their personal playground, forcing innocent shoppers to take shelter inside stores as fights started breaking out. The following week, another takeover destroyed a carnival in a mall parking lot just 2.5 short miles away from the Edison site. The carnival had tried to impose an 18-and-up limit for after-hours, but the teenagers weren't having it and started scaling fences to get inside.
