First time river front being built on drain: SP chief Akhilesh Yadav targets UP government over Kukrail riverfront project

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 7 (ANI): Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday criticised the Uttar Pradesh government over the Kukrail riverfront project and stated that for the first time, a riverfront is being constructed over a 'drain'.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the Uttar Pradesh government 'destroyed' Lucknow's Akbarnagar area due to which many people lost their lives and businesses.
'This government is going to destroy and it destroyed Akbarnagar in Lucknow due to which many people lost their businesses and people lost their lives. For the first time a riverfront is being built on the drain', Akhilesh Yadav said during a press conference in Lucknow.
The SP MP noted that during his tenure as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, he cleaned Varanasi's Varuna river and ensured that untreated water would not be released into it. He mentioned that in the present time 'natural purification' of rivers is not happening, due to which the level of dissolved oxygen is decreasing in the rivers.
'Our government cleaned the Varuna river and our plan was that only treated water should go into the river and we did the same for Gomti. Natural purification of the river is not happening and the dissolved oxygen in the rivers is decreasing', the SP chief said.
Akhilesh Yadav stressed that he received information regarding treatment plants being shut down across the state. He said that drain water and filth are being directly dumped into rivers and noted that the rivers of Bundelkhand are being so highly excavated that in every district, 'mounds' have formed on the roadside along with edges on the field.

Speaking to ANI, Anil Rajbhar said, 'He earned immense property by religious conversions. This is only the beginning. He destroyed the lives of multiple women through conversions and which almost amounts to treason. The government is doing the demolition activity. 18 people have been named, including a former minister of a particular community. Many other properties have to be found and seized. Network in 40 countries, and it is an example of the conspiracy against the country outside the border limits.' Earlier, SP Vikas Kumar said, 'This building made by Chhangur Baba on government land is being demolished. Police and PAC are deployed here.' The Uttar Pradesh Police's Anti-Terrorism Squad had arrested Chhangur Baba and his aide in Lucknow on July 5. The person has travelled to Islamic countries 40-50 times. After gathering all this information, a case was registered, and an investigation is currently underway by the UP ATS. Two people have been arrested in that case. An investigation is ongoing, and the arrest of more persons is possible... Brasilia [Brazil], July 8 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a state-visit to Brazil after participating in the BRICS Summit, received a warm ceremonial welcome at the Alvorada Palace in Brazil on Tuesday. He was accorded a warm ceremonial welcome in Brasilia. Upon his arrival, he shared a unique moment of enjoying a harmonium performance along with the Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. PM Modi enjoyed the Indian classical musical presentation which used traditional instruments such as the Harmonium and Tabla at his ceremonial welcome at Alvorada Palace in Brasilia.
