Fidan: Iran's actions were self-defense, exposed Israel's limited capability

Ankara - Saba: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Friday that Iran's recent actions constituted "legitimate self-defense," noting that "Tehran's response revealed the limitations of Israel's ability to target Iran's nuclear capabilities." In press remarks, Fidan said, "What we have seen demonstrates that Israel is not strong enough to eliminate Iran's nuclear program." He added that the recent developments in the region were not unexpected for Ankara. "We anticipated that the war would not remain confined to Gaza but would expand to a broader geography, which is exactly what happened with Iran," he said. The Turkish minister pointed out that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), launched the war against Iran driven by domestic political motives. Fidan stated that Netanyahu's recent escalation aims to secure personal gains at the expense of regional security. Regarding the situation in Gaza, Fidan emphasized that the humanitarian catastrophe has reached unbearable levels, stressing that targeting civilians awaiting humanitarian aid "appears to be a deliberate act." Fidan called for urgent international action to halt the crimes being committed against civilians in the Strip. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print more of (International)

Iran condemns Israeli crime in "Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh " that claimed 19 Iranian lives

Tehran - Saba: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani condemned the Zionist entity's crime in "Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh " which claimed the lives of 19 Iranians, describing it as evidence of the entity's hatred toward Iranians. In a post on the "X" platform on Thursday, the Foreign Ministry spokesman stated: "In Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh , a small town in northern Iran, a massacre was committed, claiming the lives of 19 innocent people—women, children, and elderly—relatives and friends of the Iranian researcher Seyed Mohammad Reza Sadeghi. This was carried out using missiles provided by America in support of the terrorist Israeli entity." He added, "This brutal massacre is a clear example of a war crime and terrorism, demonstrating the depth of hostility and malice the Israeli entity harbors toward Iranians." Kanaani continued, "The Zionist entity lies when it speaks of 'security' and 'defense.' Terrorism and the killing of innocents are part of its official policy, which its Western supporters and apologists whitewash through systematic and institutionalized hypocrisy, disregarding all international laws, standards, and human rights." He affirmed that the Iranian people will neither forget nor forgive these crimes. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Iranian Foreign Ministry: Cannot accept NPT obligations without enjoying its rights

Tehran – Saba: The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baghaei, stated on Wednesday evening that Iran cannot accept obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) without enjoying the rights granted by it. The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Baghaei as calling on the international community to condemn the hostile actions taken by the United States in targeting peaceful nuclear facilities on Iranian soil before focusing on Iran's nuclear program. Baghaei also mentioned that Tehran had received a message from Oman regarding a ceasefire following the attack on the "Al-Udeid" American base in Qatar. He explained that the selection of this base as the target of the Iranian strike was based on specific calculations and assessments made by the relevant military authorities.
