Not only might Samsung switch the Plus for an Edge, but there might also be a significant change to the vanillaWhile changing the model number from one that ends with a 1 to one that ends with a 2 doesn't look significant, it could mean that the basemodel may receive a slight improvement. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is out, and even though Samsung brought some upgrades to the table, we feel more needs to be done to make the Z Flip line "the best flip phone" on the market. So, let's talk about the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and cross our fingers that Samsung will be reading this at some point through the Z Flip 8 you feel that flip phone innovation moves at a snail's pace? Well, I feel you! But all's not lost, there are a couple of features that if done right, could turn the Galaxy Z Flip 8 into the real deal! The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is still about 14 mm thick when folded | Image by PhoneArena When it comes to foldables, thickness is very important. After all, when you fold the phone in half, it doubles the thickness. This year Samsung has upped its game with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, making it the thinnest foldable out even though this title has been disputed as we type this (Honor claims that the Magic V5 is thinner), there's no doubt that Samsung has done a great job with the Z Fold 7 . Not so much with the Z Flip 7 —the device is still 6.5 mm unfolded and 13.7 mm folded. Imagine if the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is able to bring the sub-10 mm thickness to flip phones. It will be an absolute game their current state, flip phones are not very comfortable when folded, offering a strange, thick, rectangular look and feel.
