I t's never been a better time to be a female entrepreneur: According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, there are now some 658 million female founders and company owners worldwide, and as my colleague Grace Chung reports here, nearly two-thirds are early stage entrepreneurs, compared to less than half of their male counterparts.
'Women's entrepreneurship is the number one policy solution to things like health deficits and education deficits,' Amanda Elam, who authored GEM's latest Women's Entrepreneurship Report, told Forbes . 'The types of businesses women tend to lead create places that are great to live in. And it turns out companies like to build their operations in places like that. So in international development, there's been this awakening.'
And so, to continue to shine a light on this growing cohort of self-starters, Forbes has published its first-ever standalone global ranking of the world's 50 richest self-made women. The women on this list are worth a collective $276 billion, or $5.5 billion on average—so not quite what we'd define as 'early stage' entrepreneurs, but the successes their businesses have found across sectors ranging from collagen to coal serve as blueprints for those who wish to follow in their wake.

Kimberley Ho EVEREDEN
Forbes 30 Under 30 alum Kimberley Ho walked away from her Wall Street career to launch Evereden for Generation Alpha. Today, her business brings in $100 million, and while the company sells in Sephora across eight countries outside the United States, including Canada, Australia and the Philippines, most of its revenue comes from direct-to-consumer sales online. 'Billions of investment dollars have gone to women's beauty, cosmetics and skincare, but none of that innovation and investment really went into family skincare,' Ho says. 'That mismatch just didn't make sense for me.' ICYMI: News Of The Week
Speaking of lucrative business opportunities… Gail Federici sold her first company, John Frieda Hair Care, in 2002. She's more than doubled her fortune building a second brand, Color Wow, which is now eyeing a $1 billion sale.
Forbes recently released its annual list of Top Creators—a ranking of America's most lucrative influencers who earned a collective $853 million last year. Among the women on this list are Alex Cooper, Charli D'Amelio and Lexi Rivera, who advises aspiring content creators to not get discouraged 'if something doesn't perform as you had hoped. It's only a matter of time until consistency pays off.'
Some 54 million people tuned in to WNBA games last season, which is why 30 Under 30 alumnae Amanda Calabrese and Greta Meyer jumped at the chance to make their company, Sequel, the first official tampon sponsor for the Indiana Fever. 'From day one we wanted to work with female athletes because we've always believed that they were going to be the future of influencer marketing,' Calabrese told Forbes .
According to the World Economic Forum's newly released 'Global Gender Gap Report 2025,' North America ranks highest globally in gender parity, having closed 75.8% of its overall gender gap and ranking first in the category of economic participation and opportunity. And yet: The world writ large remains a century away from achieving true gender parity.
The Checklist
1. Consider reuniting with an ex… employer. According to payroll processor ADP, more workers are 'boomeranging' back to an old workplace than ever before. The benefits to doing this include a faster ability to jump into mission-critical work, because you already have a baseline point of reference.
2. Protect your yes. Learning to say no is one of the most powerful tools in business—and when you say yes to everything, you dilute your energy, your focus, and even your impact.
3. Stay focused even when everything feels uncertain. Burnout, lack of purpose, and constant interruptions can destroy our focus. Here are five brain hacks to use that can bring more clarity to your days. The Quiz

Bank of America explains how a market bubble could soon form — and lays out the perfect trade to combat it
BofA analysts say risks of a stock market bubble in the second half are building. The bank's Michael Hartnett said expectations for rate cuts and lower taxes are fueling inflows to stocks. His team says a top trade is owning US growth stocks and international value stocks. A Bank of America analyst sees the risk of a speculative stock market bubble increasing as expectations that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates continue to rise. In a note on Friday, BofA's Michael Hartnett highlighted a shift that he sees approaching, one that could lead to complications for investors—and he also shared his view on a trade to hedge such a scenario. Geopolitical tensions and tariff updates from President Donald Trump have been headwinds for markets. But with the Israel-Iran ceasefire continuing to hold, the focus has shifted to the possibility of interest rate cuts in July. Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell opted to leave rates steady at this month's meeting, but several top officials since then have come out in support for a cut as soon as next month. As Hartnett's team sees it, investors have begun to adjust for a higher likelihood that Powell will pivot in his stance and cut interest rates. On top of that, Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" is likely to result in lower taxes for corporations and some households. "H2 bubble risk high as Trump/Powell pivot from tariffs to tax cuts/rate cuts to incite US$ devaluation/US stock bubble," Hartnett wrote. Hartnett and his team go on to say that the best way for investors to play the market against the backdrop of a potential bubble is by owning US growth stocks and international value stocks, presenting it as a means of finding a balance between risk and reward. They highlight this strategy as an effective way to guard against the potential impact of the predicted second-half bubble, as it offers exposure to growth in both US and international markets. Other experts have shared similar strategies for handling this year's high levels of market and economic uncertainty. Investor Bill Gross said this week he was eyeing a small bull market for stocks and a small bear market for bonds, highlighting the strategy of buying one and selling the other. Why BlackSky Technology Stock Popped Today
BlackSky won a $24 million delivery order from NGA earlier in the week. This morning, Canaccord Genuity raised its price target on BlackSky stock. BlackSky's revenue growth remains slow, and the stock remains unprofitable. 10 stocks we like better than BlackSky Technology › Shares of BlackSky Technology (NYSE: BKSY), one of the leading providers of digital satellite photos of Earth from space, rocketed 18.9% through 12:35 p.m. ET Thursday on a couple of positive developments. On Tuesday, BlackSky announced the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) awarded the company a $24 million, four-year contract to perform global monitoring of military and economic facilities. Two days later -- today -- Canaccord Genuity analyst Austin Moeller responded by raising his price target on BlackSky stock from $14 to $20 per share. Let's start with the NGA contract. Technically a "delivery order" under a much larger umbrella contract awarded last year, this "Luno A Facility Operational Monitoring" contract hires BlackSky to "perform AI-enabled object and pattern-of-life change detection to monitor trends and anomalies in vehicle, aircraft, vessel, railcar, and ground equipment activity at military and economic facilities worldwide, including ports, airfields, military installations, and railways." So it's basically it's a spy satellite contract. It's also worth an additional $6 million a year to BlackSky, with the potential to grow even bigger over time, as more delivery orders under the original umbrella contract roll in. But is this development big enough to justify adding more than $100 million to BlackSky's market capitalization today? I doubt it. BlackSky stock has already more than doubled over the past year. Yet revenues are up less than 10%, the company's still burning cash, and it's still losing about $54 million a year. Analysts polled by S&P Global Market Intelligence don't expect BlackSky to earn its first profit before 2028 at the earliest. While $20 a share may not sound like much today, I'm afraid BlackSky stock is still too expensive to buy. BlackRock Launches New Global Government Bond Hedged ETF
BlackRock launched a new exchange-traded fund Thursday designed to offer investors exposure to a globally diversified portfolio of government bonds. The iShares Global Government Bond USD Hedged Active ETF (GGOV) uses a currency hedge on the non-U.S. bonds that seeks to raise the yield on those exposures when the U.S. policy rates are elevated relative to their global counterparts, according to a press release. GGOV is managed by the BlackRock Tactical Asset Allocation team, and its benchmark index is the Bloomberg Global Treasury USD Hedged Index. The expense ratio is 0.39%. USD-hedged global government bonds have historically produced higher yields with lower volatility versus comparable U.S.-only bond indices, Tom Becker, lead portfolio manager of GGOV, said via the press release. BlackRock determined that this type of diversified global fixed-income exposure—particularly with a foreign exchange (FX) hedge where there is pure exposure to a diversified set of sovereign issuers across the world—would be an attractive access point for a lot of investors who have a large home bias, Becker told The firm saw that it could 'combine what would be a differentiated benchmark and starting point with a strong experience of delivering alpha for clients,' he said. There's also much more concern now about the size of the government deficits and inflation, Becker added. GGOV may help investors limit some of the risk they'd see with a portfolio of only U.S.-focused fixed-income investments. BlackRock's iShares global fixed-income ETF business hit the $1 trillion mark in September 2024 as the Federal Reserve's earlier rate hikes had investors turning to bonds. GGOV is joining BlackRock's $52 billion-plus U.S. active ETF platform. The world's largest asset manager is expecting the fixed-income ETFs overall to reach $6 trillion in assets under management by 2030, if not sooner, according to its annual outlook published in | © Copyright 2025 All rights reserved
