Check your change for three rare £2 coins in circulation worth over £1,000

There are three rare £2 coins that you should be on the look out for, as they could make you a small fortune if you find them in your pocket
Brits have been urged to check their change for three rare coins worth far more than their face value. These pieces combined could be worth more than £1,000 to collectors.

However, you need to make sure you look for specific years, and in one case, a sought-after error. In a video, uploaded to social media platform TikTok, an expert known as the Coin Collecting Wizard shared what to look for.

He detailed the three valuable coins to his more than 250,000 followers. 'Have you got any £2 coins?" he asked.

'Check out these worth big money - the last one will blow your mind.' Firstly, he told people to look for a coin known as the Commonwealth Northern Ireland.
Due to extremely low mintage figure, this can be worth up to £65 in good condition. He said: 'This £2 coin known as the Commonwealth Northern Ireland is the rarest £2 coin you can find in your change.

'With only 485,000 minted it is worth around £35 in uncirculated condition and £65 if brand new.' This 2002 coin is one of four different designs, each featuring a different flag for the four UK countries.
The Northern Ireland version features the Northern Irish flag on the reverse (tail side), alongside a moving figure holding a banner. Next, he explained more about the 2011 King James Bible coin.
This coin displays the first words from the Book of John on its tail side. In the golden rim of the coin it reads 'King James Bible' and '1611-2011'.

The expert continued: 'Only 975,000 King James Bible £2 coins are out there in your change. Released in 2011 this is becoming scarcer to find but if you are lucky enough to find it then it is worth around £4 in circulated condition and £20 if brand new.'
The final coin on his list is by far the most valuable. He explained how you can get £1,000 for a Lord Kitchener coin with a specific error.

'£1,000 for this £2 coin,' he said. 'Yes, I told you this one will blow your mind.
'This is the Lord Kitchener £2 from 2014 but you need to find a rare error version known as a mule error, which makes it worth a grand.
'If yours doesn't have the words 'two pounds' on the Queen's side then you have found the rare error.' This coin commemorates 100 years since the start of the First World War.
In February last year, an example of this coin sold at auction for £1,000.

A video showing Paxton playing around the plane just three days before the crash has now gone viral. The clip, posted by mum Jestene, shows the toddler riding a tricycle around the doomed plane, which appears to be parked inside a hangar. Jestene wrote in the captions: "Imagine growing up riding your bike around your dad's plane before your dad flies you and your mom wherever you want." Data from FlightAware shows that the plane travelled between McMinnville, Oregon, Fresno, California, and Nampa, Idaho one week before the crash. The family's loved ones called the loss 'immeasurable", saying, 'to say we miss them doesn't come close.' Jeremiah LeRoy, Brandon's cousin, told KTVB in a statement: 'Together, they were building a life marked by love, purpose, and promise. 'Though their time here was far too short, their legacy is everlasting — a legacy of love, courage, joy, and selfless service. The names of the pilot and passenger have not been made public. No one on the ground was injured. The reported fixed-wing aircraft with four seats appeared to be badly damaged - and was resting against a utility pole. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said: "The preliminary information we have is the plane crashed under unknown circumstances." It added: "Once on site, the investigator will begin the process of documenting the scene and examining the aircraft. "The aircraft will then be recovered to a secure facility for further evaluation."

Australia Post is slammed for infuriating issue with their deliveries: ‘I'm about to crash out'

An Aussie has slammed Australia Post after their parcel was nearly delivered to their home before being inexplicably sent across the country. Jay Morgan explained they had ordered a package from Melbourne, when it arrived at a distribution centre in southeast Queensland. Jay claimed the package was just five minutes away from their home when it was suddenly sent all the way to South Australia. 'I am about to crash out over Australia Post,' Jay said in a TikTok video. 'I had a parcel that was supposed to arrive either yesterday or today. It got to the final stop on Wednesday - the last depot before it gets delivered. 'Why is it now in South Australia? I am in southeast Queensland. This parcel was sent from Melbourne. 'It got through southeast Queensland, like five kilometres down the road from where I live. In what world does this make any sense? Australia Post, what are we doing?' Jay claimed it made absolutely no sense, as they could've easily picked up the parcel when it was in southeast Queensland. 'I could have literally driven five minutes down the road and picked it up from the depot yesterday,' Jay said. 'This is really the best that our country has to offer?' Dozens of commenters were shocked by the strange delivery route and did their best to make light of the situation. 'This is the most efficient way. Obviously,' one joked. 'Australia Post are literally the worst when it comes to delivering packages,' another said. 'It's called Australia Post, it needs to see more of Australia first,' another wrote. 'The parcel decided it wanted an extended holiday,' another said. Others shared their own Australia Post horror stories. 'Australia Post once shipped my wheelchair to Canada. It was being sent from Sydney to Newcastle,' one wrote. 'This happened to me. It was coming from the Gold Coast to Logan and it went to Adelaide,' another said. 'I had this happen to me last year with a box of diabetes supplies,' another wrote. 'I had the same thing happen to me. Started in Queensland, bounced between NSW and Queensland for three weeks,' another said.

Major update in Brazil plane crash as ‘pilot reported malfunction' the day before tragedy, ex-employee reveals a year on

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MAJOR update has been revealed in last year's Brazil plane crash, with the pilot said to have reported a malfunction a day before the tragedy. It comes almost a year of the aircraft spiralled down to the ground and exploded in a huge fireball - tragically killing all 62 people on board. He told g1 the pilot who operated the plane the night prior to the crash reported to the maintenance team that he had experienced problems with the aircraft's de-icing system. The failure was allegedly omitted from the technical logbook and ignored by management - when it reportedly should have prevented the plane from taking off. The ex-employee said how staff were pressured by company management to avoid aircraft downtime for maintenance, adding that there was also little time to assess the condition of aircraft. He told g1: "The leader himself asked: 'Well, if he didn't report it in the log, there's no problem with the aircraft.' "That was the company's legacy: if the captain reports it, there's maintenance action; if he doesn't report it, they won't waste time with anything he says." The Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center suggested in the preliminary report that the plane's blackbox captured a conversation between the pilots in which they mentioned a failure in the de-icing system. De-icing systems are crucial in aviation as ice can negatively affect aerodynamic performance - potentially increasing the aircraft's weight and impairing its speed and lift. The former employee believes that had this problem been reported to the logbook, the tragic crash would have been avoided. The Voepass Airlines plane was previously labelled an "old wreck" and was only in service for weeks before the deadly plunge. Horrified Brits watch as TUI plane tyre EXPLODES during take-off in Corfu Passengers and their families complained about the aircraft just 24 hours before it spiralled down to the ground and exploded in a huge fireball last week. The plane smashed into a residential area of the city of Vinhedo, with neighbours filming it dropping and crashing. The Voepass flight had left Cascavel, in the Parana state, and was bound for Guarulhos, in Sao Paulo. Valinhos City Hall later confirmed all on board were dead and that no residents on the ground were injured or killed. One grieving mother said that Friday's crash "wasn't a fatality, it was a crime" after the plane horrifically dropped out of the sky in a death spiral. Maria de Fátima Albuquerque lost her daughter Arianne Albuquerque Risso in the crash, who was a resident doctor in oncology at the Cascavel Cancer Hospital. An emotional Mrs Albuquerque told Globo G1 at the time: 'It wasn't a fatality, anyone who was on that plane would have died, because it was an old wreck. "It wasn't a fatality, it was a crime. Who can ease my pain? You'll see me fighting every day." 8 The debris at the site where an air plane crashed with 62 people on board Credit: AP 8 Authorities are now investigating the cause of the crash Credit: Claudia Vitorino 8 The aircraft was labelled 'an old wreck' by passengers and their families Credit: Reproduction/TV Globo A tragic passenger on the fatal flight had also sent messages to her family saying she was 'scared' of the 'old' plane. Rosana Santos Xavier, 23, had expressed her concern about the ATR 72-500 aircraft in the family chat group shortly after boarding. She wrote: 'I'm so scared of this flight, I swear, it's an old plane. 'There's a broken seat, it's chaos.' The 23-year-old's mum, Rosemeire dos Santos Xavier, told her to read a Psalm to calm her nerves. But she says deep down, she had a bad feeling. A short while later, Rosemeire saw on the news that a plane had crashed. Rosemeire told local media: 'I panicked. I started running around the house screaming.' Rosana was heading back to her home in Franco da Rocha near São Paulo, Brazil, after a work trip. All flights grounded at multiple major UK airports over 'radar failure' as holidaymakers are left 'stranded' The plane had also been undergoing a series of maintenance shutdowns, Brazilian news programme Fantastico has found. In March, the Voepass aircraft experienced a hydraulic problem and abnormal contact with the runway that caused "structural damage", leaving the aircraft out of operation for four months. And just a day before Friday's horror crash, passengers on board the same plane reported suffering from the sweltering heat due to faulty air conditioning. During the flight, passengers reported that they faced extreme heat due to the malfunctioning air conditioning, with one of them saying the temperature was "unbearable". People were trying to cool down as best they could, with one man even taking off his shirt because of the sweltering heat. Voepass said in a statement that the safety has always been the company's priority, adding it "has always acted in compliance with the strict requirements that guarantee the safety of its air operations". 8 Arianne Albuquerque Risso, who died after a plane crash in Vinhedo, Sao Paulo 8 Lawyer Laiana Vasatta, pictured with her husband Fábio Bigolin, was another victim of the horror crash Credit: Jam Press
