A SUSPECT has been arrested after a man died in a Scots street.
Paul Wright was found unresponsive in Orchard Street in Kilmarnock on Tuesday, April 22 after having been "acting erratically".

Despite efforts to save him, the 56-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police now say they have arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with Mr Wright's death.
We told the victim had collapsed and died outside the home of former star of TV show The Scheme, Marvin Baird revealed he had known Mr Wright for years and was shocked to find out the man who died outside his flat was his pal.
Marvin said: 'I'd known Paul for years. He collapsed right outside my flat window. I saw all the fuss but I didn't realise it was him.
'I couldn't believe it when I heard it was Paul. It's not nice news.
'He had his troubles but it's a shame to hear of anyone passing away. I'm sad for him and his family.'
The death of Mr Wright - who is understood to have recently been released from prison - left neighbours reeling as police and forensic crews descended on their quiet street as they combed for clues.
Locals say they raised the alarm with some reportedly battling to revive Mr Wright before paramedics arrived.
Police cordoned off three separate areas of the Longpark area of the town as they carried out enquiries and fingertip searches.
Detectives from CID gathered CCTV from neighbouring businesses as they tried to piece together Mr Wright's final movements after he was described as 'behaving erratically' in the lead-up to his death.

One woman said: 'He was apparently running around the street and then someone said he just collapsed.
'People started shouting for help and tried to resuscitate him but it was too late. It's quite shocking really.'
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 5.25pm on Tuesday, 22 April, 2025, emergency services were called to reports of an unresponsive man on Orchard Street in Kilmarnock.
"He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death.
Enquiries are ongoing. "

Three hooded teens have been caught on CCTV "attempting to steal" a motorbike. CCTV has captured the moment a brazen youth gang 'attempt to steal' a motorbike on a residential Edinburgh street. Shortly after 7pm on Saturday July 5, Three hooded teens were filmed inspecting the bike under a cover on Fernieside Avenue. As they attempt to lift the cover off the bike, another male youth can be seen keeping an eye out while riding an e-scooter as the group attempt to get to the bike right outside the owners' home, reports Edinburgh Live. Yesterday, in a separate incident, we reported that a Scots cafe has been targeted by a gang of youths for the third time in a week after nearby business owners warned they are 'under siege' from feral groups. Last weekend a firework was let off near customers at Sir Walter's Cafe in Princes Street in Edinburgh, exploding near women and young children. Just days later, two female youths were captured breaking open a shutter and raiding the cafe, reports Edinburgh Live. Paulius Bernotas, who owns the business in Princes Street Gardens, raised concerns over an increase in antisocial behaviour from large groups of youths in the area and called on police to carry out regular patrols to deter further offending. On Thursday July 3, several male youths appeared to approach the cafe shortly before midnight and attempted to prize open the same shutter before turning the camera away from them. According to Paulius, more damage was dealt to the unit, but nothing appears to have been taken. Two hooded male youths can be seen approaching the cafe and attempting to pull open the wooden shutter before two females join them. In the background, people can be seen walking along Princes Street, looking towards the group. A hand is then visible as the camera is moved away from them while they allegedly broke the doors open. After being approached about a rise in youth-related incidents within Princes Street Gardens, Sergeant Robert Richardson said officers are currently running a dedicated initiative which involves high-visibility patrols specifically targeting antisocial behaviour on Princes Street and the surrounding area. Paulius previously told how groups regularly make their way around Princes Street Gardens with speakers during the day and approach his cafe and seating area in the afternoon. Despite being asked to leave by staff, groups continue to 'look for a reaction' and vandalise his cafe. Edward Stanton was found guilty of 11 charges, including rape, on May 21, 2025 following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow. The 73-year-old targeted 10 victims, aged between six and 22, between May 1985 and April 1994. Ian Douglas Haig ran the Scorpio Leisure business and made his cash from charging customers on entry and being paid a fee by sex workers for use of one of the premise's five bedrooms. During the subsequent police investigation officers interviewed staff and clients who had attended the sauna and discovered it was being used for prostitution purposes. Haig was arrested and charged with allowing the premises to be used as a brothel and pleaded guilty when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday. A written narration read out to the court stated Haig, who used to be in the merchant navy, was 'the long standing tenant' and 'the operator of the business known as Scorpio Leisure'. The narration said: 'Scorpio Leisure was offering paying customers massage services, advertised itself as a sauna and operated as a brothel.' The court heard patrons entered through a locked inner door and the inside of the building included a lounge, a staff kitchen with 16 lockers, a shower area and changing room. The narration added: 'There were five rooms all containing a bed, mirrors on the walls, a corner bath and showers. The rooms contained stocks of wipes, lubricants and shower gel.' The court heard a woman passed away in non-suspicious circumstances within the premises in the city's Leith area on April 30, 2022 that had led to a police investigation. Police interviewed a number of women who worked at the sauna who said 'clients attending the brothel paid an entrance fee to the accused' of £20 for a 30 minutes session and £35 for 90 minutes. The narration detailed the brothel's pricing structure stating the customers paid the women a further £50 for a 30 minute appointment and £75 for 90 minutes Two men rushed to hospital after rammy outside Scots pub The court was told the sex workers would then pay Haig £10 per client for the use of the room. The court heard: 'Clients attending at Scorpio Leisure selected the women at the lounge area then moved to a bedroom. 'Some of those clients provided statements on their interactions with the accused either on arrival or departure and were quite clear the accused knew the premises were being operated as a brothel.' The court was told nurses from the charity SACRO regularly attended the premises to 'supply condoms and offer sexual health advice and support to the women working there'. Solicitor Nigel Bruce, defending, asked for his client's bail to be continued and said he would reserve his mitigation to the sentencing hearing. Sheriff Fergus Thomson agreed to continue bail and deferred sentence on the pensioner, of the capital's Haymarket, for the preparation of a social work report to next month. The sheriff also agreed to continue a Crown motion of a matter of confiscation under Section 92 of the Proceeds of Crime Act for four weeks. Haig was the sole shareholder of Darrock Ltd before the company was dissolved earlier this year. Haig pleaded guilty to being the tenant, occupier or operator of Scorpio Leisure, Albion Road, Edinburgh, and allowing the premises to be used as a brothel, or for the purposes of of habitual prostitution, between March 1, 2016 and April 30, 2022.
