The theme park said at the time of the closure: "The current trading climate and steep increase in key costs across the board is not conducive to the existing theme park model."
However, they also said they had "exciting plans" for a simpler attraction.

This includes a new outdoor space with play zones and splash parks, as well as "sensory gardens".
Rides will include a maze, go-karting track and

A cafe and shop will reopen, which are part of the education facility on-site.
Little-else is known about the new attraction although it hopes to open later this year.
Most of the closed building are being repurposed, rather than rebuilt so is unlikely to take years to renovate.

The planning application statement says: "The aim of this proposal is to create a site which is better adapted for use by the occupants of Merritown, Discovery Village and Diverse Abilities.
'All of these tenants want to create sustainable spaces which focus on creative outdoor spaces which are stimulating environments with outdoor play, sensory gardens, water play, and utilise the existing external spaces and buildings on site.'
First opened as a pick your own fruit farm, Adventure Wonderland became a full theme park in the 90s.
The Alice in Wonderland theme came from the main character Alice, who was thought to have been inspired by a woman who lived nearby in Lyndhurst.
Along with the addition of rollercoasters, a new £1million indoor play attraction called Wild Thing opened in 2005, its first indoor area.
With rides including a rollercoaster, tea cups and log flume, the park welcomed as many as 180,000 people a year before its closure.
Use these tips on your next theme park trip
Next time you visit a theme park, you may want to use our top tips to make the most of your adrenaline-inducing day out.

Go on water rides in the middle of the day in the summer - this will cool you off when the sun is at its hottest.
Download the park's app to track which rides have the shortest queues.
Visit on your birthday, as some parks give out "birthday badges" that can get you freebies.
If it rains, contact the park. Depending on how much it rained, you may get a free ticket to return.

Patrick Kielty's final post about wife before she 'erases him' from social media
Patrick Kielty's last social media shout-out to his wife Cat Deeley was a touching homage, where he lavished praise on his 'wonderful' spouse. The Late Late Show host took to Instagram in February to celebrate Cat being named the new permanent presenter of This Morning alongside Ben Shepherd. As the 48 year-old was unveiled as Holly Willoughby's successor, Co. Down native Patrick couldn't hide his pride, posting a collection of videos and photos showing Cat with their kids at home. His post read: "I didn't know what a morning person actually was until I met this woman. She gets up every day with a smile on her face. "A 5:30am, whistling in the shower, smile on her face. Then downs two coffees, and gives you the look. The 'what the f*€K's wrong with you, let's do this' look," reports RSVP Live. "It's not a pretend smile and it's not just some mornings. It's every morning. Which is bloody difficult cos she's married to me. I should also mention she likes a chat. To anyone. About anything. Anywhere." This comes as Cat seems to have removed all signs of Patrick from her Instagram, following the couple's recent announcement that they have decided to part ways. Cat married her long-term friend Patrick Kielty in 2012 (Image: GETTY) The pair tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Rome in September 2012 after dating for only a year and have two children together. In a joint statement given to the PA news agency, they stated: "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved." Rumours swirled about the state of Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty's marriage earlier this year when Cat was noticeably missing from her mother-in-law's funeral. Patrick Kielty faced the heartbreaking task of laying his mother Mary to rest in March, seen shouldering her coffin with his brothers John and Cahal at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Dundrum, Co Down. While Patrick was surrounded by loved ones during the sombre occasion, his wife Cat Deeley was not among the mourners. Instead, she remained in London, presenting This Morning as usual alongside Ben Shephard. This Morning boasts a diverse team of stand-ins for hosting duties, including Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, and Rochelle Humes, who step in on Fridays or when regular hosts are away. A representative for Cat clarified her absence, stating that she stayed back to support their two sons, Milo and James, during this difficult time as they mourned their grandmother. "Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day," a spokesperson for Cat told Mail Online. Despite the speculation, the couple enjoyed a family holiday the following month, taking their sons Milo and James on an Easter break. On Instagram, Cat shared glimpses of their family time, including a snap of her in a chic black swimsuit paddleboarding with Milo, 8, alongside the caption: "Catch a wave". She shared a clip of Patrick and six year old James strolling down the beach on an "ice cream run". A-list stars join Osbourne family as they lay rock icon Ozzy to rest in grounds of his beloved UK home
A-LIST stars have joined the Osbourne family as they lay Ozzy to rest in the grounds of their home. All of the rocker's old Black Sabbath band mates are attending, as are musicians James Hetfield and YUNGBLUD - though close pal Sir Elton John is among those not in attendance. Along with the bursts of applause from the thousands of devoted fans who had lined up to say goodbye, the procession was everything Ozzy would have wanted. This day was, as he had hoped, a celebration of his life and his legacy. His heart however, I know, would have broken to see his wife Sharon, held up by her son Jack, breaking down in tears in front of the sea of flowers that had been laid for him at the Black Sabbath bridge. Those close enough to Sharon shouted out to her and applauded in a small gesture of support. Today was no doubt one of the most difficult days of Sharon's life. My heart ached as I saw Jack, Aimee, Kelly and Louis standing shoulder to shoulder in the city their father made so proud. Losing your husband, your father, is difficult enough. Sharing that grief, although they wanted to, would have been incredibly hard. This afternoon's procession was the first of two fitting farewells to the Prince of Darkness who would have no doubt made a joke about all the fuss. As Ozzy himself said, there was no such thing as death for him. 'I will retire when I hear the nail go in the box and then I will do an encore,' he joked last year. 'I am the Prince of Darkness.' Tomorrow Sharon, their children, and Ozzy's closest friends will gather at a church in Gerrards Cross to say their final goodbyes to the pioneer of heavy metal music. Ozzy, I have been told, will then be laid to rest in the family's Buckinghamshire home where he made so many happy memories. The pain of his loss will never go away for those closest to him and for the fans who held him up as an icon. But with his music, Ozzy's legacy will continue to inspire and delight generations to come.
