Sofia Richie's $12 Bronzer Gave Me Effortlessly Sunkissed Skin

Sofia Richie's $12 Bronzer Gave Me Effortlessly Sunkissed Skin

Cosmopolitan3 days ago
Sofia Richie's wedding might have been more than two years ago, but her timeless looks are still living rent-free in my head—and that includes her glowy skin. During one of her wedding week GRWM videos, the star shared that Physicians Formula's $12 Murumuru Butter Bronzer is one of her "secret faves."
Sofia isn't the only one that adores this budget-friendly beauty find—it's Amazon's #1 best-selling bronzer with more than 41,000 reviewers raving about its silky-smooth texture and impressive shade range. As someone who religiously slathers SPF 50 on her face every single day, I wanted to see if this budget-friendly bronzer would help my skin look a little less ghastly.
Honestly, bronzer and I have a love-hate relationship. I usually rely on blush, since I find most bronzing formulas patchy and drying. So I was almost giddy when this bronzer glided on my skin like butter (it's in the name, after all!) and left me with a natural-looking, sunkissed glow.
I was most impressed by the texture of this product. While it might look like your typical powder bronzer, it has a cream-powder hybrid formula that melts into the skin. It's enriched with Brazilian murumuru butter, cupuaçu butter, and tucuma butter for a hydrating feel. This makes it easy to apply and blend, and didn't look the slightest bit patchy on my dry skin.
Bronzers are notorious for making your skin look orange (just look at a picture of me from 2012), but this one has a neutral undertone that leans more "I just came back from a trip to Ibiza" than Cheeto dust. That said, people looking for a cooler, contour-friendly undertone or deeper shade might prefer the Sculpting Bronzer.
To see if my newfound glow would last all day, I wore this bronzer for 14 hours straight—including a sweaty workout. Per usual, I applied this bronzer on top of my Haus Labs foundation (IYKYK) and set it with Urban Decay setting spray around 8:30 a.m. By the time I finally got home at 10:30 p.m., I was pleasantly surprised to see that this product had some major staying power. It somehow managed to make my skin look even more lit-from-within after a sweat session—I think the humidity helped it meld with my skin more.
TL;DR: If you're looking for an affordable, natural-looking bronzer that's Sofia Richie (and Cosmo editor)-approved, try Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer. You can add it to your Amazon cart in even more shades below:

The black trim and asymmetrical hem are the drama you've been missing in your closet! A set of faux coffee table books with secret storage space!! Store your TV remotes, candle lighters, charging cords, and more inside this gorgeous piece of decor. No one will have a clue! A container of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust simply because it's the best cereal ever, and who wouldn't love the taste of it on everything!? Use it on your coffee, ice cream, french fries, and more. An initial pendant necklace reviewers say is long-lasting and awesome quality for the price. And compared to the much more expensive versions you've probably seen at places like Anthropologie and Nordstrom, that's definitely a win! A stunning pleated skirt that has truly unmatched versatility. Wearing this to work, to a wedding, to brunch, or just on an errand with a pair of sneaks will work 10 out of 10 times. Maybe just get a few different colors while you're at it? A pair of LED stained glass bulbs to fill a room with colorful and inviting lighting. The round bulb protrudes a soft medley of color, while the diamond-shaped bulb showcases direct lines of colorful light. Both are beautiful, so be prepared for tons of "Where did you get that!?" questions either way! A sophisticated pleated statement lamp with a drool-worthy wiggly base that'll have the compliments coming in at quick speed. IMO, this is the definition of a hidden gem! A large, versatile scarf sure to be the most used item in your closet. You can wear it as a hair accessory, a top, a belt, or necktie. To quote Cady Heron: "The limit does not exist!" An eight-piece set of measuring cups with wood handles to add a rustic flair to your utensil drawer. The gold finish on these cups is waaay better than those plastic ones you've got sitting in your drawer, don't you think? A rattan plant stand so your plant collection isn't full of the same ole boring pots. Give your green babes some extra height to catch those sun rays, or use it to simply spruce up your living room area. This stand would look adorable just about anywhere and may encourage a new plant purchase, too! OR a hanging disco ball planter to keep the plant party going, even if there's no more floor space. When the bright sun hits this planter, it'll give light to every other plant in the room. A zigzag martini glass set because it looks like something you may have scored at a flea market, but surprise — Amazon for the win. This beautiful glassware set of four happens to be dishwasher-safe, too. Vintage could never! A grassland, knitted jumper that'll have everyone ~m~ooing and aahing when they see it! This cutie has the perfect oversized look for anyone who wants to stay cozy without sacrificing their adorable style. A top-rated Baroque mirror truly fit for royalty. So get out your Bridgerton dress, strike a ~pose~ for a selfie, and be prepared to brag about how you found this gem for under $150! This beaut would look radiant above your mantel, mounted in your hall, or leaning on your entryway table. A set of velvet colorblock pillow covers if you're in need of some extra color in your home. Your couch, bed, and accent chairs will never be the same without 'em! A sleek and slender olive oil dispenser set because it won't take up as much space as those big, bulky bottles oil usually comes in. These hidden gems also come with 37 (!!) labels for things like avocado oil, balsamic vinegar, French vanilla syrup, and much more — because, yes, the dispensers work perfectly for those items, too! A TikTok Bluetooth remote control for easy scrolling! It's perfect for navigating through your favorite app while at the gym, while cooking, and more. It can even be used to scroll through Instagram, read e-books, and take photos from afar without needing a timer. Genius. 👏🏾 A comfy wide-leg jumpsuit you can dress up or down, which means this piece can (and will) be worn over and over again, no matter the occasion. It's got puff sleeves, a cinched bodice, and pockets, too! A six-piece set of handcrafted ceramic dinner plates that'll make you feel like you're having dinner in a fancy shmancy restaurant every evening — whether the plates are filled with Kraft mac 'n' cheese or delicious homemade tortellini. These plates are microwave- and dishwasher-safe, as well as scratch-resistant! A unique glass vase to hold your flowers in something adorably quirky and unusual in the best way. This vase is wide from top to bottom, so your biggest, most beautiful bouquets won't have a problem fitting inside. A stylish midi tank dress perfect for those with a minimalist closet (or anyone who needs a few more good staple dresses). The material is stretchy, comfortable, and surprisingly thick, according to reviewers! An ultra-soft nonslip bathroom rug because it's washable, durable, and just plain cute. It would look great in your bathroom (duh) but also in your kitchen or entryway, too. A small pup-shaped hair clip that is secure and holds hair in a cute and comfortable fashion. Reviewers with short or fine hair say it's a must for dog lovers, and for those with thicker hair — try the half up/half down look! These cuties come in tons of breeds like, corgis, labradors, poodles, German shepards, and *so* many more. Wonderskin Wonder Blading One Step Lip Stain Masque, the super fun lip stain that ~glides~ on a holographic blue and peels off to unveil a gorgeous, long-lasting lip stain! According to reviewers, it can withstand any eating and drinking you do throughout the day, too. At this point, it's not a want but a need! A set of twisted candles that come in just about every color of the rainbow (and then some). Your dinner table and/or mantel will officially be complete! A *leak-proof* Simple Modern tumbler — yes, the insulated tumbler you keep seeing all over TikTok for not spilling. Reviewers say the hype is real *and* well-deserved. It includes a straw and a lid, has a convenient handle, comes in tons of great colors, AND is almost half the price of the also viral Stanley Cup. Do you need this? I think yes. A pair of puffy kitten heels you can confidently step out in, knowing you'll be dressed to the nines with unique accessories to match. Honestly, these mules are an Amazon hidden gem, so you might just be starting a new trend. A cool desktop jewelry organizer that's cactus-shaped (love!) and even has a catch-all tray for things like rings and bobby pins. The staggered and hollow branches allow for tons of necklace, earring, and bracelet storage, too. The famous Alleyoop 4-in-1 makeup brush with an angled complexion brush perfect for powder blush or foundation, along with an eyeshadow brush, a brow/eyeliner brush, *and* a blending sponge! It's the perfect size to keep in your purse for touch-ups throughout the day and for saving space in your makeup bag. A strapless mesh bustier because the corset trend will never go out of style, and this one — with a zipper! — is one of the cutest, most affordable, and easiest to get into. This top comes in 20 (!!) cute and bold colors; you may want a different one for every day of the week. A ridiculously plush blanket you can use to keep warm while binging your favorite shows and also use as decor because it's just that dang cute. A gorgeous pour-over coffee maker set complete with a ribbed coffee dripper, a metal drip stand, and a heat-resistant coffee server. This gem is perfect for any coffee lover who HATES anything big and bulky in their kitchen (...because aesthetic, hello)! You'll have a delicious cup of joe and a new piece of home decor — the best of both worlds! A pack of mesh socks for an adorably elegant finishing touch on an outfit with sandals, heels, or Mary Janes. You can also wear these over thicker socks for some extra ~pizzazz~. A pack of super fun iridescent shelves to add some flair to your organizing. Reviewers use it for holding nail polish, toys, books, and sunglasses (of course!). A pair of hypoallergenic hoop earrings sure to be in heavy rotation because they go with *everything*. These chunky but lightweight beauties have an open back and a gorgeous gold, silver, or rose gold finish, too. They've got over 27,000 5-⭐️ reviews, so are obsessed. A tank and skirt set perfect for any upcoming occasion, whether it's a casual brunch or your bestie's baby shower. A two-piece set is an easy stunner, and *this* two-piece set is a comfortable and stylish choice that fits the bill. A pack of Gameboy wall decals as easy as peel, stick, and stare in awe. It'll make a fridge or a bedroom doorway more fun as it doubles as dry-erase boards, too. If that won't motivate you to write down your grocery list, I don't know what will. A rose and heart ice mold that'll make any beverage a floral dream almost too pretty to sip. Using the built-in funnels on the lid, simply pour your liquid of choice into the mold to get six lovely ice cubes hours later. Use it for everything from cocktails to iced coffee and more! A shabby chic ruched comforter set complete with two matching pillowcases — each made of ultra-soft and fluffy material and giving a luxurious look you wouldn't expect to come from Amazon. Cute handmade macrame hanging baskets, because they can be used for mail, fruit, or even as a small planter (which gives this major bonus points IMO). And with multiple tiers, why not do all three? A Bluetooth typewriter keyboard with a slot for your iPad or tablet! Reviewers also use it for their laptops and entire WFH stations too, and just use the slot as a phone holder. If there was anything that'd motivate you after hours in front of a screen, it'd be this!

The best Amazon Prime Day deals under $50: Save on gear from Blink, Anker, Samsung and others

Big ticket items like TVs and iPads might get the lion's share of the attention during Amazon's big sale, but there are plenty of Prime Day deals to be had for under $50, too. We've combed through the pages (and pages) of discounts to find the brands and gadgets that we at Engadget actually recommend. Our picks include power banks from Anker, smart plugs from TP-Link, microSD cards from Samsung and smart speakers from Amazon Echo. We've also linked back to our reviews and buying guides to help with your shopping decisions. Here are the best Prime Day tech deals under $50 that are available right now. Amazon Fire TV Stick HD for $18 ($17 off with Prime): We name this the best budget streaming stick on our list of the best streaming devices. It's easy to set up and so you can access all of the major streaming platforms. Just note that it only streams content at 1080p, not 4K and the UI is more ad-heavy than competing streamers. Apple AirTag for $23 ($6 off): Here's our pick for a Bluetooth tracker for iPhone users. These little discs have the most accurate finding ability of any fob we tested, thanks to Apple's vast Find My network that taps into all nearby iPhones to track down your missing stuff. They could be louder and hole would be nice, but nothing beats its accuracy. Samsung Fit Plus 56GB flash drive for $23 ($12 off): We named this the best thumbstick drive in our guide to the best SSDs. It has a sleek design, five-year warranty and has a USB 3.1 connection. There's even a small attachment point for a keychain so you can take your extra storage drive with you when you go. Thermacell E55 Rechargeable Repeller for $25 ($10 off): The mosquitos aren't going anywhere. Even places that didn't used to have these evil bloodsuckers are now overrun. If you would like some reprieve from the bites, this is the repeller we recommend in our guide to outdoor tech. TP-Link AC1200 WiFi extender for $20 ($10 off): If you've got some dead spots in your home's internet coverage and aren't quite ready for a mesh setup, a Wi-Fi extender can help. This is our favorite budget option in our guide to these plug-in devices thanks to its easy setup and user-friendly app. Amazon Echo Pop for $22 ($18 off with Prime): The smallest (and cheapest) Echo speaker is ideal for small apartments or rooms. The half-sphere design comes in purple and teal in addition to the standard black and white colorways. It's gone as low as $18 in past Prime Day sales. Anker Nano USB-C charger block for $16 ($4 off): Remember when tiny bricks like this all maxed out at a dinky five-watts? This tiny but mighty cube is the best cheap fast charger in our guide to fast chargers and it outputs a generous 30 watts, plus the prongs fold down to make it even more teensy. Soundcore Select 4 Go Bluetooth speaker for $22 ($13 off with Prime): One of the newest additions to our guide to the best Bluetooth speakers is this 'lil guy from Soundcore (Anker). We found it had decent sound quality and was loud enough to fill a standard-sized living room. It's gone as low at $20 in the past. Amazon Smart Plug for $13 ($12 off with Prime): This plug and an Alexa Echo device makes a perfect smart home starter kit (and a number of Echos are on sale for Prime Day, too). Snap this into your outlet and Alexa should automatically detect it (if not, a few taps in the Alexa app should get things connected). Then you can use it to control any lamp, fan or other simple device you plug into it — just by asking the assistant. Blink Mini 2 security camera for $20 ($20 off with Prime): Our pick for the best budget security camera is now even more budget friendly. We appreciated this diminutive camera's ease of setup and excellent integration with Alexa devices, like Echo speakers and displays. It requires a subscription for person detection and cloud storage, and the image quality wasn't the best of the bunch. Amazon Echo Dot for $32 ($18 off with Prime): Amazon seems to wait for Prime Day sales to give its smart speakers hefty discounts. We see minor sales throughout the year, but not quite this steep (though it's gone as low as $23 in past sales). So if you want to bring Alexa's peppy helpfulness into your home, this is a good time to do so. The Dot is our favorite smart speaker under $50. Amazon Echo Dot Kids with Alexa for $32 ($28 off with Prime): The kids version of Amazon's smart speaker is the same hardware but with a kid-themed cover (owl or dragon) and it comes with a free year-long subscription to Amazon Kids+ with audiobooks, games and educational Alexa skills. Blink Video Doorbell for $30 ($30 off with Prime): If you already use Alexa in your home and want a compatible video doorbell, you may want to check out this deal. Note that you'll need a Blink subscription and a Blink Sync Module to store clips and to access other features. You can wire it to your existing doorbell wires or use it wirelessly with two AA batteries that can last up to two years. HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 gaming headset for $36 ($14 off): In our guide to gaming headsets, we ultimately recommend getting an external mic along with a good pair of wired headphones for chatting. But if you really want a two-in-one, the Cloud Stinger 2 is our pick for a budget gaming headset. Razer Basilisk V3 gaming mouse for $40 ($30 off): Some prefer a wired connection when playing games. Razer's Basilisk V3 is our top budget pick for a wired mouse in our gaming mouse guide. It's comfortable, well-built, accurate and a good value — particularly with a Prime Day discount. Amazon Echo Spot for $45 ($35 off with Prime): The Spot speaker was resurrected last year with a slightly different design than it first had. Now the display is a half-circle on the round face of the clock and it can show you the weather, time and song title. The speaker itself brings you all Alexa can do, like setting timers, adding stuff to your grocery lists and answering questions about the weather. Leebin Electric Spin Scrubber for $40 (43 percent off): This was Deputy Editor Valentina Palladino's favorite thing she bought last year because it makes the must-detested chore of cleaning her shower less of a pain. It's an electric spin scrubber that comes with multiple cleaning heads so you can use it on your countertops, sinks, tubs and showers and more. It also has an adjustable arm so you can reach tough spots in hard-to-reach places, and it convenient recharges via USB-C. Amazon Echo Buds with Active Noise Cancellation for $45 ($95 off with Prime): These buds are a bit old at this point, as they came out in 2021, but the 68 percent discount could be compelling. In our review, we said the buds were much improved over the last generation. They're more comfortable and have a better sound quality. Plus the Alexa integration makes them a decent pick for those who've gone all-in on Amazon's ecosystem. Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam for $40 ($40 off with Prime): This indoor security camera can spin 360 degrees and has a tilt range of 169 degrees so you can keep tabs on pets and other happenings at home. It'll let you drop in for a live view from your phone, and supports two-way talk for telling your pup to get off the couch. UGreen Revodok Pro 109 USB-C Hub for $39 ($16 off): The top pick in our guide to the best USB-C hubs has a good array of ports, including an HDMI 2.0 connection that supports 4K monitors at 60Hz, plus three USB-A ports, Ethernet and one USB-C (plus another for delivering 90W of power to your device. The hub has gone as low as $30 in prior sales.

28 Budget-Friendly Fashion Accessories

A set of gold-plated cartilage cuffs you can slip on for the look of two extra piercings. If you've been debating a conch but don't want to baby your ear for up to nine months (yes, that's how long it can take to heal!), try this on for size. An adjustable western-inspired belt if you're still not over Cowboycore and would love a way to highlight your *also on-trend* low-waist bottoms. A pair of $15 oval sunnies reviewers say may or may not look like a $500+ Celine pair 👀 and I'm right there with them. A faux-leather bag that can straight up pass for Polène's Cyme. Despite its low price point, reviewers say the quality and detail — from the stitching to the hardware — is there. 👏 A cherry bag charm if you're currently 'Jane Birkinifying' all of your bags — aka accessorizing your accessories — and fell in love with a particular $95 charm that's taken TikTok by storm. A CZ tennis bracelet that — according to reviewers — can pass for real-deal diamonds, especially when incorporated in a sparkly stack. A satin scarf you can wear SO many ways. Use it as a headband or scrunchie, tie it around your purse handle for extra oomph, wear it around your neck, style it as a top, or buy a matching set for you and your pet to wear. A beaded evening bag with *just* room for all of the important stuff (phone, keys, wallet) so you can collect compliments but not other people's stuff when you go out for the night and someone inevitably doesn't want to carry their own bag. Some faux-pearl statement earrings that look like they were bought from a boutique in Tahiti, but really, all you did was click "Buy Now" on Amazon and they showed up at your door in 24 hours. A stacking ring set you can wear together or space out so several fingers can get in on the fun. Friends will thing you sourced them individually but really, the work was done for you. A set of beaded bracelets with a stretchy elastic band so you don't have to spend 10 fruitless minutes trying and failing to secure multiple tiny clasps. A layered initial and paperclip chain necklace for those who love the look of two+ pieces, but don't want to deal with sourcing them individually. I've been there, done that, and gotta say that this way, you don't have to deal with uneven lengths or unexpected tangles. A dazzling cubic zirconia ring that looks *just* like the one you've seen on the hand of many a celeb and influencer — but for $10. Just keep it away from water (and maybe don't wear it to Solidcore classes if you sweat a lot), and you'll get your money's worth. A beaded shoulder bag you'll immediately treat as well as your firstborn child so it stays in the best condition imaginable. It's v similar to options from Staud if you love the look but simply can't afford the brand! A pair of stylish teardrop earrings if you want the luxe look of Bottega Veneta but don't want to drop the equivalent of a month's rent on them — especially with how often you misplace things. A pair of safety pin earrings that look like the real thing, but won't infect your lobes or accidentally poke a new hole behind your ear. A true win-win, if you ask me! A pair of vintage-inspired aviators to add a bit of ~flair~ to your everyday look. You may even feel like a TikTok influencer when you wear them. A woven tote bag with such an arresting exterior, even the barista at the coffee shop will cut you some slack as you dig through it for five minutes to retrieve your debit card. A pair of retro-inspired sunnies that'll run you less than $20, so if you're the type of person who throws them all willy-nilly in your bag, you won't be out serious dough if they get damaged. A simple herringbone chain you can wear alone or layer with 12 of your other fave necklaces because sometimes more *is* more. An elegant stainless steel Timex watch with a petite oval face and stretchy design that makes it a cinch to slide on and off. Yay for no clasps!! A genuine leather belt that'll literally tie your whole 'fit together and ensure you get ample wear out of all of your bottoms, even if you gain/lose a few pounds here and there. A bold and protective headwrap so you can give your curls the attention they deserve — but sans heat or too much manipulation. A stunning acrylic clutch with room for your keys, cards/cash, and Dior Lip Glow Oil 'cause TikTok has you in a chokehold and you *will* buy whatever the Gen Z influencers tell you to. A layered necklace so simple to style, it may just lay claim to your clavicle for good. And honestly, that's the best kind of piece — the one you never even take off. Some 18K gold-dipped twisted hoops that take ~literally~ no effort or know-how to style. While they're pretty substantial in size, they are unbelievably lightweight, so you don't have to worry about saggy lobes. A pair of polarized frames to protect your peepers as you drive to Starbucks for a grande vanilla iced latte even though you have a whole carafe of cold brew at home. 🤫 And a pair of pavé huggie hoops sure to match whatever you're wearing since they rock all Roy G. Biv shades.
