Kishore Kumar knew when he was going to die, a tarot reader predicted exactly how much time he had left, and he was right

Around 700 crore hearts sank on October 13, 1987, when the great Kishore Kumar rested his eyes for the final time. The country lost one of its most iconic voices just seven years after losing the legendary Mohammad Rafi. Within a decade, two of the most important Indian singers of the past 100 years were gone, and the throne inside the recording booth was now empty. In a recent interview, Kishore's son Amit talked about his father's final years and shared how his father knew that the end was nigh. Talking to Radio Nasha, Amit narrated a story about performing shows with his father, and how, during one of those shows, a herald of Kishore's death came to him. 'He suffered an attack in 1981, and he was bedridden for at least six months. But my father, being the restless and stubborn man he was, started doing live shows pretty soon. So, we went to Assam in 1982 to do a show, and there we met a tarot reader. My father consulted him, and the tarot reader declared in front of everyone that he only had seven years left to live, and that's exactly when he passed away.' He said, 'I had gone to the US with Govinda and Asrani to do a couple of live shows. The last show was in Toronto, and my father had given me a huge list of movie DVDs and laserdiscs to buy. He told me that he wouldn't let me enter the house without them. So I decided to buy everything on my way to the airport on the day we were supposed to go back. The day came, and I got a call in the morning from Shomu Da (Shomu Mukherjee). He asked me, 'Amit, when are you coming back?' A couple of other people talked to me on the phone, and I asked them where my father was. Finally, Shakti Samanta broke the news that my father was no more.' He added that he couldn't really understand how to react to the news, but that the people around him helped him deal with it and return to India with the right state of mind. Amit said, 'Govinda and Asrani didn't even come to my room while I was on the call because they already knew what had happened. Once I put the phone down, they all came in to console me, including Kulbhushan Kharbanda, who was very sweet to me. He consoled me throughout the flight. But he had not been well for a while, and I think the failure of my marriage also broke him. He couldn't understand why something like this was happening to his son.'

Johny Lever Says He Was A 'Drunkard', Would Drink Till 4 AM At Chowpatty: 'Had Crossed My Limits'

Johnny Lever recalled that he would drink every day at Mumbai's Chowpatty Beach, and the police—recognizing him—would allow him to do so safely in their car. Johny Lever has spent over forty years in the industry, and has seen his own fair share of ups and downs. At one point, he was one of the most successful comedians, acting in films and performing on stage. In a recent chat with comedians Sapan Verma, Aakash Gupta, and his daughter Jamie Lever, Johny revealed that he used to be heavily into drinking, staying at Mumbai's Chowpatty drinking until 4 am. During an appearance on Sapan Verma's YouTube show, Johny, joined by his daughter Jamie, reminisced about his demanding schedule and how his overwhelming success negatively impacted his health and lifestyle. He explained that he often felt exhausted, juggling film shoots during the day and stage performances at night, combined with heavy drinking. This routine left him feeling completely drained. Despite his exhaustion, Johny consistently delivered his performances, although he felt completely depleted afterwards. He advised moderation, sharing his own experience of excessive drinking until 4 am at Chowpatty, where even the police, recognizing him, allowed him to drink safely in their car. 'I request people—limit mein piyo (drink in moderation). I had crossed my limits, and it's not worth it. I was a drunkard. I would sit at Chowpatty and drink till 4 in the morning. Many times, the police would come, but when they recognised me, they would laugh and say, 'Arre, Johnny bhai,' and let me sit in their car to continue drinking safely," he said. Discussing the impact of success, Johny noted that his constant presence in movies and international shows led to a loss of self. He ultimately decided to quit drinking and has remained sober for the past 24 years. 'Success can mess with your mind. At one point, no movie was made without me. I was also doing international shows and constantly traveling. I lost myself in all of it," he said. In recent years, Johny Lever has become selective with his roles. This year, he has already appeared in three movies: Badass Ravi Kumar, Be Happy, and Housefull 5, with another film, Welcome To The Jungle, set to release, although the official date is yet to be announced. Govinda once allegedly quit a blockbuster for Salman Khan, he later repaid the favour by relaunching his career with.. the film was… In the ever-evolving world of showbiz, many actors come with the dream of making it big on the silver screen. But in this unpredictable world of Bollywood, fame is always fleeting. The destiny of any actor changes with every Friday release, depending on how much they have earned at the box office. What's interesting is that sometimes even the superhit stars who have delivered a streak of hits and earned name and fame also fall prey to this uncertainty. The actors that we are talking about are none other than the celebrated celebrities Salman Khan and Govinda. In an industry where competition often overshadows camaraderie, the bond between Salman Khan and Govinda stands out as a rare example of genuine friendship. Delivering several films together, the two appeared in the cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna, although it was just a cameo and didn't feature them in the same scene. Later, they were both seen in Salaam-e-Ishq, but again, their roles didn't intersect on-screen. Finally, both appeared in Partner, and their chemistry was widely hailed and appreciated. The film also turned out to be a superhit. Govinda Had Once Given Up a Hit Film for Salman Interestingly, their chemistry wasn't just limited to on-screen but also known off-screen. Back in 1997, when Govinda was at the peak of his career, he was initially offered the film Judwaa. However, one night at around 2–3 AM, Salman called him and asked, 'How many hits will you keep delivering?' and requested him to let go of Judwaa. Without a second thought, Govinda stepped back and allowed Salman to take the lead role. Later, this film turned out to be a superhit. Salman Returned the Favour After 10 Years Years later, when Govinda's career had hit a rough patch and roles had dried up, Salman came to his rescue. At that time, Salman was delivering hit after hit. When Partner was being planned, Salman personally requested director David Dhawan and producer Sohail Khan (his brother) to cast Govinda alongside him. That decision not only revived Govinda's career but also turned Partner into a blockbuster, proving that good friendships exist even in a competitive world. Salman Khan once also publicly said that Govinda was one of the best actors of his era. Both started their careers around the same time and achieved superstar status. While Govinda has remained away from the limelight for a while, their bond has stood the test of time. And in a world full of fleeting fame, their story reminds us that some friendships truly go beyond the screen.
