Survivor has always named its episodes after quirky or unique quotes from the contestants and/or Jeff, and the finale is no exception. The official title is "Only One of Youse Can Win," though it's unclear which person is responsible for the specific quote. Might it be a voted-off player, who lashes out after their torch is snuffed? Or maybe it's someone who's knocked out of a challenge early? Find out next Wednesday.
Oh, yes! There will be two immunity challenges throughout the three-hour episode, the first one featuring the Final 5 and the second one between the Final 4. The winner of the last challenge will get to choose one person to bring with them to the Final 3, while the remaining two people will compete in a fire-making challenge to see who advances, and who is eliminated in fourth place.
CBS
As of this writing, the six people still left in the game are:
Eva Erickson: 24-year-old PhD candidate from Providence, R.I.
Joe Hunter: 46-year-old fire captain from West Sacramento, Calif.
Kamilla Karthigesu: 31-year-old software engineer from Foster City, Calif.
Kyle Fraser: 31-year-old attorney from Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mitch Guerra: 34-year-old P.E. coach from Waco,Texas
Shauhin Davari: 38-year-old debate professor from Costa Mesa, Calif.
One of these contestants will be ousted during the May 14 episode, leaving just five to compete in the finale on May 21.
The jury of eight started at the Top 11, with Cedrek McFadden becoming the first jury member. He was followed by Chrissy Sarnowsky, David Kinne, Star Toomey, and Mary Zheng, and three more will soon join them. These eight jurors will vote for who they think deserves the $1 million prize. (Note that the seven people voted out first do not participate in this stage of the competition: Stephanie Berger, Kevin Leung, Justin Pioppi, Thomas Krottinger, Bianca Roses, Charity Nelms, and Saiounia "Sai" Hughley.)
With eight jurors and three finalists, it's possible we could see a tie vote — that's what happened in Season 36, Survivor: Ghost Island. If there's a tie, the third-place finalist gets to cast the tie-breaking vote. During the Ghost Island finale, Laurel Johnson received the least amount of jury votes (zero), so she cast the tie-breaking vote between Wendell Holland and Domenick Abbate, picking Wendell.

To date, 45 different people have won CBS's reality TV show, spread out over 47 seasons — see the updated winners list. Sandra Diaz-Twine (Pearl Islands, Heroes vs. Villains) and Tony Vlachos (Cagayan, Winners at War) are the franchise's only two-time champions, with the former taking home a combined $2 million, and the latter claiming a combined $3 million, since Winners at War rewarded double the prize money. Who will join the list of champions for Season 48?

Paramount May Not Be Done With ‘Transformers' Movies Yet
After 2024's Transformers One came and went, it's been a question of whether we'd actually see the Autobots and Decepticons on the big screen. The answer now appears to be 'yes,' and not just because Paramount's still pretending that crossover with G.I. Joe is happening. According to Matt Belloni at Puck News, the studio is spinning up several Transformers movies. One is said to be helmed by One director Josh Cooley, and will be live-action. The other is said to be coming from ex-franchise steward Michael Bay, who's currently operating as a 'hands-on producer' but could potentially direct. Bay dipped out after 2017's The Last Knight and has maintained a producer credit on later films, but the franchise hasn't been hitting those same financial highs since his exit behind the camera. Meanwhile, Puck didn't have any information on the other three rumored Transformers projects, and the G.I. Joe crossover is said to have two separate ideas that are both in early stages. Either way, this isn't exactly a new position for the franchise: pre-Last Knight, there were said to be a lot of Transformers movies in the works, but plans for a cinematic universe were halted after Knight underperformed. In 2021, Blue Beetle director Angel Manuel Soto was attached to direct a film, and Paramount's talked about doing a sequel to 2023's Rise of the Beasts. All Paramount reportedly has to do is have a Transformers movie in production by 2029 to maintain the rights to the IP. If it's got this many projects in the works, one of them should theoretically be ready by then. Will people be interested in them? That's another matter. Want more io9 news? 'Star Trek' Star Says Being on the Show Is ‘Intimidating'
'Star Trek' Star Says Being on the Show Is 'Intimidating' originally appeared on Parade. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds actor Ethan Peck, who plays Mr. Spock, is opening up about starring in the beloved Paramount+ series. While speaking to Cherry the Geek TV at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival on June 14, Peck explained why working on Star Trek: SNW can be intimidating at times. "It's more intimidating than inspiring to be honest with you because there's so much incredible work that's being done, there's so much money involved," said Peck during the interview. "And of course, as an actor, you're like, 'Okay show up, now do it.' You know what I mean? So it's pretty intimidating. But now, that we've been on this for years, I think we're a little comfortable with that responsibility." Peck also shared that he was not a Star Trek fan before starring as Mr. Spock, who was originally played by late actor Leonard Nimoy in Star Trek: The Original Series, which aired from 1966 to 1969. As fans are aware, Star Trek: SNW is a prequel to Star Trek: TOS. In addition, Peck said he didn't realize he was auditioning for the role of Spock when reading for the second season of Star Trek: Discovery, which aired in 2019. "I didn't know what I was auditioning for when I first got the audition and when I found out what it was I was shocked. And stunned," said Peck during the interview. Peck also shared that he believed Star Trek: SNW's premise of exploration and appreciating each other's differences is an important message. "The whole purpose is kind of to display or make an example of a way of being that isn't so hateful and fearful. And so it's really about being curious about that, which is other from you. And I think that's a message that never ceases to be important," said the 39-year-old actor. Peck expressed his appreciation for Star Trek: SNW, which premiered in 2022, during a February 2025 interview with MUSE TV. "I feel so incredibly lucky. I feel very fortunate. It's got such an incredible humanistic message and I've very proud to be a part of that," said Peck. CBS Revisits 'Beyond the Gates' Premiere Week in Special Broadcast Event originally appeared on Parade. CBS is doing something interesting for fans of Beyond the Gates, as the newest soap opera to the lineup will take viewers back to where it all began next week. Instead of airing new episodes, CBS will be repeating the first five episodes of Beyond the Gates the week of June 30 - July 4. With the drama expected to continue with new episodes beginning July 7th. Beyond the Gates aired a trailer before it's launch back in January teasing the series. CBS officially describes Beyond the Gates as a soap opera that is 'set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States; a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have 'made it' and those who haven't are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.' Beyond the Gates has a cast of over thirty contracted actors. The soap is anchored by the Dupree family, starring Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree), Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), and Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole Richardson), and their respective families. Beyond The Gates is developed and produced by CBS Studios and the NAACP in partnership with P&G Studios a division of Procter and Gamble. The series is the groundbreaking first hour-long black soap opera to premiere in daytime. The creation is the brainchild of award-winning showrunner Michele Val Jean, in association with executive producer Sheila Ducksworth, and is the first new soap opera to premiere since NBC debuted Passions back in 1999. Beyond The Gates airs weekdays at 2 p.m. EST on CBS and streamed daily on Paramount Plus. Beyond the Gates can be streamed from the beginning on Paramount Plus.
