Telangana: Congress MLC Chintapandu Naveen alias Teenmar Mallanna – his office was reportedly vandalised by Telangana Jagruthi workers following his remarks against Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana chief minister and BRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao.
A Member of the legislative Council (MLC), Naveen Kumar is popularly known by his screen name Teenmaar Mallanna.
Visuals of the vandalised office premises showed chairs broken, and other furniture all strewn over the floor.
Supporters of the Congress MLC were protesting against the Telangana Jagruthi workers, and also called for the arrest of the attackers.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police of the region said that they had just received information about the incident, and officials are currently enroute the spot, reported ANI.
Mallanna was reportedly present in his office in Medipally when the incident occurred.
As per initial reports, a group of Telangana Jagruthi members reportedly enraged by Mallanna's comments, stormed into the Congress MLC's office and "vandalised" furniture, reported PTI.
They also allegedly assaulted some employees, prompting the gunman to open fire in the air in self-defence, a senior police official told PTI.
Television footage also showed the gunman firing into the air to disperse the mob, as several protesters were seen attacking staff inside the premises.
Popularly known by his screen name Teenmar Mallanna — Chintapandu Naveen — was suspended by the Congress party in March this year for alleged anti-party activities, reported The News Minute.
The Congress MLC first rose to fame as the host of the satirical political show Teenmaar Vaarthalu, where he played the character Teenmaar Mallanna.
Over time, he launched his own YouTube channel, gaining popularity for his sharp political commentary — often targeting leaders of the previous BRS government. Mallanna is also known for making provocative remarks against his political rivals, which has frequently stirred backlash, mentioned a report by The News Minute.

MP: Harda tensions ease as curbs lifted, Karni Sena to stick to peaceful protest

In Harda, Madhya Pradesh, the dust appears to be settling after a weekend of unrest sparked by a confrontation between Karni Sena activists and police. The town, which witnessed widespread protests and heavy security deployment, is gradually returning to normalcy. District Collector Aditya Singh has lifted 163 prohibitory orders and authorised the release of those arrested during the 'chakka jam' demonstration. Despite these steps, local authorities remain cautious, noting that tensions could resurface as community leaders and supporters continue to express dissent. The atmosphere, while calmer, remains under close watch. The unrest began after Ashish Rajput, a Karni Sena official, filed a complaint alleging a fraud of Rs 18 lakh in a diamond deal involving three individuals. Police arrested one of the accused, Mohit Verma, and attempted to present him in court on Saturday. However, around 40 Karni Sena activists gathered outside the court, demanding custody of the accused and obstructing legal proceedings. The situation escalated, prompting police to resort to a lathi-charge and arrest four individuals, including district president Sunil Rajput and complainant Ashish Rajput. In a message posted on his X handle, Karni Sena national president Jeevan Singh Sherpur stated that the movement against injustice would continue, but without disrupting the lives of ordinary citizens. Superintendent of Police Abhinav Chouksey defended the police response through a video message on X handle, stating that the demand to hand over the accused was unconstitutional and that mild force was used only after activists misbehaved with constables at the police station. He emphasised that the incident stemmed from a personal grievance and should not have been linked to any organisation. The crackdown triggered widespread protests across the district, prompting the administration to impose Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (formerly Section 144) and seal Harda's borders. More than 50 arrests were made, and additional police forces were deployed from neighbouring districts, including Betul and Khandwa. On Monday morning, four senior Karni Sena leaders, including national president Jivan Singh Sherpur, were released conditionally in the presence of SDM Kumar Shanu Devdiya. Sherpur was released outside the district boundary after giving a written assurance not to participate in further demonstrations. District Collector Aditya Singh lifted 163 prohibitory orders late Sunday, signalling a cautious easing of restrictions. Despite this, the atmosphere remains volatile, with reports of Rajput community members mobilising across the state. Congress leaders have condemned the police action, calling it a violation of democratic rights and demanding an impartial inquiry. As social media continues to amplify the unrest, authorities are urging restraint and vigilance. The administration has submitted a detailed report to the Home Department in Bhopal, while the Karni Sena has announced plans to continue its agitation, with a new date to be decided.

Singer on Radhika Yadav music video: ‘It's being turned into a Hindu-Muslim issue'

The music video opens with a man riding his bike down a deserted street. As he drives, memories of a lost love surface — tender, black-and-white flashbacks of a smiling young woman flicker throughout. That young woman in the video is state-level tennis player Radhika Yadav — she was killed five days ago, shot dead allegedly by her father at their Gurgaon home. Since her death, the 2.56-minute YouTube video uploaded last January has gone viral — climbing from just 21,000 views on July 11 to over 1 lakh — and with it has come a wave of online trolling and speculation. Though the Gurgaon Police have ruled out any link between the video or Radhika's social media activity and the motive for her killing, both Radhika and her co-star, singer-actor Inamul Haq, have been targeted online. Some users are attempting to communalise the tragedy, drawing false links to 'love jihad.' 'We were in touch just professionally' Inamul, who hails from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, said his name is being dragged unnecessarily into the case. Speaking to The Indian Express from Dubai, where he has been staying for the past three months for business purposes, Inamul said he barely knew Radhika. 'I woke up to the news on July 11. My phone wouldn't stop ringing,' he recalled. 'I called my mother in Aligarh — she was crying. She asked about my relationship with Radhika, and I told her we were only professionally connected.' 'After watching the video, people assumed we were very close, but that's simply not true,' he added. 'People are turning this into a Hindu-Muslim issue… there is no angle of 'love jihad'. Inamul, who began his singing career after participating in the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs in 2011, has taken part in several other singing reality shows and has acted in two Hindi serials — Crime Patrol and Ashoka. Inamul said he had met Radhika only twice. Their first meeting took place during the player selection exercise for the Punjab Tigers, a team under the Tennis Premier League, in Delhi. 'The owner of the team is Raminder Singh, and the co-owner is actor Taapsee Pannu. I was working as the creative head for the team, tasked with filming players during their trials,' he said. 'My colleague came to me and said that one of the players had a very good screen presence… and she was interested in working in ads, music videos,' Inamul claimed. 'I asked my teammate to stay in touch with her… Later, we (Radhika and I) connected on Instagram. I told her if anything suitable came along, I would let her know,' he added. Inamul said he began planning the Karwaan music video last year. A friend in Canada had liked the song and offered to produce and act in it. A Delhi-based director joined the project, and a WhatsApp group was created to coordinate. Inamul shared two or three profiles, including Radhika's, for the female lead. 'We always ask before sharing an artist's profile. I had sent Radhika the song's audio beforehand, and told her we could offer a small goodwill amount since it was a low-budget project. She agreed to be part of it,' he said. Meanwhile, he said his friend backed out, and Inamul stepped in as the lead. 'We finalised Radhika for the role.' The song was being shot in Greater Noida. 'Radhika came with her mother… During the shoot, Radhika told me her father liked the audio of the song — which meant she had his permission to participate… She looked calm and composed,' he said. He said he shared the song's teaser with Radhika, but she didn't respond. 'I asked her if there was something wrong with the video, and we could re-edit it if needed. She wasn't promoting it and told me that she was busy, which is why she couldn't respond,' he said. He said his last conversation with Radhika was on April 6, during which he offered her a jewellery advertisement, but she recommended her friend for the role instead. Inamul said he is ready to cooperate with the probe. 'I am open to any probe. If they ask for my phone, I will hand it over. The police are free to do whatever is necessary, he added. On Thursday morning, Radhika was cooking when her father, Deepak Yadav, allegedly shot her in the waist with his pistol. Her uncle, Kuldeep Yadav, 46, who lives on the ground floor with his family, said he heard the gunshots, rushed upstairs, found Radhika lying in a pool of blood, and eventually lodged a complaint. The FIR states that Deepak was taunted by villagers in Wazirabad whenever he went to buy milk, saying that he was living off his daughter's income. He had asked her to stop coaching at a tennis academy where she worked, but she refused.

‘Break silence': BJP's Amit Malviya jabs Congress chief on drug taint of son's aide

The BJP on Monday went on the offensive against the Congress and demanded a response from its party president Mallikarjun Kharge over his son Priyank Kharge's alleged connections with a drug peddling racket in Maharashtra. Amit Malviya, in-charge of the BJP's National Information and Technology Department, wrote on X, 'Will Mallikarjun Kharge break his silence now? Or will Congress, as usual, protect its own? 'Trouble is mounting for Priyank Kharge as his right-hand man is caught in a drug trafficking case,' said Malviya, referring to the NDPS case registered in Thane against the junior Kharge's associate Lingaraj Kanni. 'Drug trafficking arrest taints Congress again! Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge's close family circle is under fire. Kalyan Police have arrested Lingaraj Kanni, Kalaburagi South Block Congress President and a close aide of Priyank Kharge, son of the Congress chief and Karnataka Minister,' said the BJP leader. Earlier, the Maharashtra Police arrested Kanni on charges of drug peddling. According to the police, he was apprehended in Thane city while in possession of narcotic substances and allegedly attempting to sell them. He was also found in possession of a banned Codeine-based syrup of 120 bottles. A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Bazarpeth Police Station Besides Priyank Kharge, Lingaraj Kanni is also known to be a close aide of Congress MLA Allamaprabhu Patil. Kanni had joined the Congress during the 2023 Karnataka State Assembly elections. He was previously affiliated with the BJP. In another development, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered by the Station Bazar police in Kalaburgi, Karnataka, in connection with the suicide of a contractor, Sachin, who was allegedly harassed by the associates of Minister Priyank Kharge in December 2024. Sachin, a contractor from Bidar, died by suicide on December 26, 2024, reportedly after receiving threats to his life and being pressured for money by Raju Kapnoor, a former Congress corporator and a close associate of Minister Priyank Kharge.
