Got unconscious after being run over: Delhi Audi incident victim recalls horror
Another victim of the incident, Ramchander, 45, said that all five of them were sleeping on a footpath in Delhi's Vasant Vihar area when the car, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, ran over them. He said that the incident happened around 1am when the car hit them. He said that his wife's ear was also injured, and her rib was broken. 'The police took us to the hospital.. there should be action against the driver," Ramchander said.

Meanwhile, Delhi police released a photo of the accused driver, Utsav Shekhar, who was allegedly behind the wheel at the time of the accident and arrested him.
The incident took place on Wednesday, when a Audi car drove over the footpath near Indian Oil Petrol Pump and crushed the people sleeping there. Delhi police received a PCR call at 1:45 am, regarding the incident in front of Shiva Camp. Upon reaching the spot, it came to notice that injured persons have been shifted to hospitals.
Five people were injured including an 8-year-old child named Bimla. Police also said that the driver who has been identified as Utsav Shekhar is a resident of Dwarka and deals in property-related work. Shekhar was returning home from Noida when the accident happened.
According to the police, statements of eyewitness were recorded, which pointed to a white color Audi Car. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended and legal action taken.

Darbhanga airport, which operates as a defence airport, enforces a strict sunset restriction on civil flight movements, the sources said. Furthermore, the replacement aircraft that eventually reached Darbhanga arrived too late to obtain the necessary clearance for departure before sunset. Subsequently, the flight was unable to take off and was cancelled, the ANI sources continued. SpiceJet assured that alternative arrangements were made for the stranded passengers to travel to Delhi on Sunday. SpiceJet Flight Cancel Earlier, a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Mumbai handed over two passengers to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for their unruly behaviour after they attempted to approach the cockpit while the aircraft was taxiing forcefully. The incident was of flight SG 9282, before its take-off, and despite the cabin crew and the Captain's repeated warnings, the individuals refused to return to their seats and created a disruption onboard. The two passengers were removed from the flight and handed over to the CISF. "In the interest of the safety of all passengers and crew, the Captain decided to return the aircraft to the bay," the airline had said.

Sharda University Student Suicide: Victim's Father Alleges Mental Pressure By Faculty Members
A second-year BDS student at Sharda University in Greater Noida died by suicide, alleging harassment and humiliation by faculty members. The father of a second-year BDS student at Sharda University in Greater Noida, who died by suicide on Monday, said she was under intense psychological stress due to the way certain faculty members treated her. The body of the student was found in the hostel room of the university, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Knowledge Park Police Station. The deceased student accused her teachers of harassment and humiliation in a suicide note. Following the incident, tensions escalated on campus as students staged protests, demanding accountability from the college authorities. A heated exchange also broke out between police personnel and protesting students. Seven people, including six university staff, have been booked in the case, and two faculty members named in the suicide note have been arrested. What Did The FIR Say? The student had complained to her father about being repeatedly humiliated in class by faculty members and threatened with academic consequences, according to the FIR seen by the Hindustan Times. The family told police that the student's father visited the university on July 14 after her daughter's complaint, and personally met the Dean, HOD and other faculty members, who assured him that she would not be harassed further. 'My daughter was under immense mental pressure because of how she was treated by certain faculty members. Despite my meeting with the university officials just days before, no action was taken. They gave verbal assurances but continued to harass her," the victim's father said. The student was reportedly told that her work would not be approved and she would be barred from exams. The next day, she took the extreme step. Her father said she was 'tortured" and evidence regarding her death was also 'destroyed". The university has not issued any official statement in connection with the case yet. The incident comes days after a college student in Odisha's Balasore district died after setting herself on fire, allegedly over harassment by a teacher. IIM-Calcutta rape case: Accused student granted bail on ₹50,000 bond
The Alipore Court on Saturday granted bail to Premanand Mahaveer Toppannavar, also known as Parmanand Jain, the student accused in the alleged rape case on the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta campus. The court allowed bail on a bond of Rs 50,000, citing that the victim had 'not cooperated' in the investigation. The decision comes after Toppannavar, a second-year student at IIM Calcutta, was remanded to police custody till July 19. He had been arrested by Kolkata Police on the night of July 13 following a complaint filed by a woman alleging that she had been raped on the IIM Calcutta campus. Earlier, Kolkata Police officials had informed that a nine-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted under the Deputy Commissioner of the South West Division to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident. Chief Prosecutor Sourin Ghosal told ANI that during the court proceedings, the defence claimed the sexual act was consensual, while the prosecution argued that prima facie evidence and medical reports supported the complainant's claims. "We asked for police custody, and the accused asked for bail. They argued that it was consensual. We argued that no, the prima facie investigation shows that a crime was committed, and the medical evidence supports the victim. The court granted police custody till July 19," Ghosal said. Meanwhile, the mother of the accused student, Mahaveer Toppannavar alias Parmanand Jain, said the family was stunned by the development and had no knowledge of the reason behind his detention. She asserted that her son, a final-year student at the prestigious institute, was innocent and incapable of committing such an act. Her comments came after Kolkata Police arrested Toppannavar. Speaking to ANI, mother of Mahaveer Toppannavar alias Parmanand Jain said, "We recieved a call from his friend around 11 in the night. He told us that my son has been detained and he doesn't know the reason... We have no clue why our son has been arrested... We want to meet our son and talk to him." "He was in the final year of his college... We do not know anything here in Kolkata. Where the Police Station is or the Court. My son is innocent. He has come so far to study. He will never do such a dirty thing," she told ANI.
