Majnu Ka Tila Horror: Delhi man sells first baby for Rs 2 lakh, forces abortion of second, then slit throats of partner and infant in revenge killing
Majnu ka Tila Murder: In a gruesome crime in Delhi, Nikhil has been arrested for allegedly murdering his former live-in partner, Sonal, and a six-month-old baby. Driven by suspicion and revenge, Nikhil slit their throats after suspecting Sonal of infidelity and blaming her for aborting their child. The couple had a disturbing past, including selling their first child for Rs 2 lakh.
A horrifying double murder in Delhi's Majnu Ka Tila has shocked the nation, as 27-year-old Nikhil, the prime suspect, was arrested on Wednesday from Haldwani in Uttarakhand, according to Times of India (TOI). He had been on the run since allegedly slitting the throats of his former live-in partner Sonal (22) and a six-month-old baby girl on Tuesday afternoon.Police say Nikhil suspected Sonal of having an affair with his friend Durgesh. Driven by rage and jealousy, he brutally attacked Sonal with a surgical blade. What makes the case even more disturbing is that Nikhil also killed Durgesh's infant daughter, believing this was revenge for the abortion of his own unborn child.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), Raja Banthia, Nikhil fled the city after the killings. He boarded a train to Ranikhet, but got off in Bareilly, and then made his way to Haldwani by taking lifts from strangers. Once there, he contacted a man named Rahul, who helped him hide in a village nearby. Nikhil was planning to escape to Nepal through the Banbasa border, but was arrested near Sangam Cinema while trying to collect money to flee. The investigation has revealed more shocking details. As per TOI, Nikhil and Sonal first met in Haldwani in 2023 and began living together. In 2024, Sonal gave birth to a child. Since they were not married, the couple sold their baby for Rs 2 lakh to someone in Uttarakhand. After selling the child, they moved to Wazirabad in Delhi, where tensions rose between them. Nikhil grew suspicious that Sonal was getting close to Durgesh, and their fights increased. Later, when Sonal got pregnant again, she went ahead with an abortion, against Nikhil's wishes, something he could not forgive.
On the day of the incident, Nikhil visited the house where Sonal had been staying with Durgesh's family. While the family had gone out to pick up their older daughter from school, Nikhil took the opportunity to attack and kill both Sonal and the baby girl. He fled the scene shortly after.Durgesh later said that Nikhil had been harassing and threatening Sonal for weeks. 'She didn't want to stay with him. He even threatened to leak her private photos,' Durgesh revealed. Sonal had approached him and his wife for help. She had also recorded a video message, fearing for her life, but tragically, her cries for help went unheard in time. Inputs from TOI
