Reading sign Hull defender Jacob on loan
Reading have signed Hull City defender Matty Jacob on a season-long loan.
The 24-year-old made eight appearances in the Championship for the Tigers last season, scoring in the 3-0 win at Sheffield United in January.

"Matty joins us and brings plenty of versatility to his role in our defence," Reading boss Noel Hunt told the club website.
"As a player he's very strong going forward, but also demonstrates the necessary qualities in his defensive duties."
Jacob has been with Hull since the age of eight and had a six-month loan spell with Gateshead in the National North in the 2021-22 season.
Reading will start their new League One campaign at Lincoln City on 2 August.

That grief is felt more acutely in Merseyside - and at Anfield - the place Jota had called his home for close to five years during an indelible career at Liverpool. The place where Jota became a fan favourite, a hero to so many young fans and a role model and an icon to look up to. Someone who delivered us memories that will live with us for a lifetime. Supporters have expressed their grief and have left their tributes in their droves outside Anfield for a man who was adored by the club's fans. The touching tributes have not just been from Liverpool fans but from all sorts of supporters who live in the city. Everton have come out to pay their respects - showing just how strong this unity is between the two rivals. At times like this, football doesn't matter. All that matters is the lives that were lost, cut far too short. It's touching that at a time like this the city stands united. Liverpool will always be there to remember Jota. The club shop at Roots Hall opened at 10am by which time around 80 fans were already waiting, including Henry Goodwin.
