Jennifer Love Hewitt was unmissable in all-black at the I Know What You Did Last Summer premiere at the United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles on Monday, July 14.
The actress, 46, wore an ankle-length, form-fitting Rachel Gilbert Embellished dress with 3-D jeweled beading for a completely eye-catching look. Her matching black pumps featured textured silver accents.
And while Hewitt's character may be a brunette bombshell, the IKWYDLS alum rocked ginger-toned tresses on the red carpet with a smokey eye for her glam. She wore multiple rings on each hand, with one of her wrists showing off mixed-metal bracelets.

The long-awaited sequel, which picks up after the events of 1998's I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and the 1997 original installment with the same name, sees the return of Hewitt's good-girl character, Julie James, who can't seem to escape her troubled past.
The new movie, which opens in theaters on Friday, July 18, follows five friends who "inadvertently cause a deadly car accident" before "cover[ing] up their involvement and mak[ing] a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences," according to Sony Pictures.
However, "a year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they're forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help."
The 2025 premiere comes 28 years after Hewitt walked the red carpet on Oct. 8, 1997, for the Hollywood premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer at the GCC Galaxy Theatre. There, the film's final girl standing paired a '90s grunge makeup look with a sleek black and floral strapless mini dress, strappy black sandals and a slicked-back updo.
While Hewitt was all smiles on the red carpet on Monday, the actress did have some reservations going into filming the new installment in the slasher franchise. 'I had total anxiety for 48 hours before [filming] because I was like, 'Can I do this? Am I going to pull this off?' It's a lot of pressure," Hewitt exclusively told PEOPLE in April.
Still, the Criminal Minds star said she gave her "stamp of approval" on how her character has evolved, 28 years after the events of the first film. The 9-1-1 actress added that 'as a female in Hollywood, in your 40s, sometimes you can feel forgotten about.' She felt 'really touched emotionally and honored that Sony would have me back, that the franchise would have me back, that Jen wanted me back, and that the audience wanted me back. It really felt like an honor. Stepping into her shoes again was really fun."
Hewitt also reunited on-screen with costar Freddie Prinze Jr., 49, who returned in the new sequel as Ray Bronson.

The duo will help guide a new group of terrified teens. These fresh faces include Chase Sui Wonders (The Studio), Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid) and Tyriq Withers (Him).
While speaking with PEOPLE, Hewitt said the new cast is 'phenomenal' and that the experience felt like passing the baton. 'It's for them to make it their own and for me to stand by like a proud mom and say, 'It's yours now, take it and run and enjoy.' '
Even though it's been nearly 30 years, the film will still include plenty of nostalgic callbacks and Easter eggs from the '90s. The Golden Globe nominee teased in April, 'There's lots of twists and turns. I don't think people are going to expect anything that's coming. It's a really fun ride."

Family adopts recuse dog days after losing their beloved pooch — and makes a shocking discovery

It was an unfurgettable twist of fate. A San Francisco family grieving the loss of their beloved dog adopted an 'identical' rescue — only to discover the canines came from the same family. Rufus, a rat-terrier mix, had just passed away when Jillian Reiff came across a picture of a pup on Instagram that looked just like their late dog — with the exact same markings and ears. Reiff wasn't sure if she was ready for another dog just yet, but something pulled her to meet the pooch. 9 Jillian Reiff with her late dog, Rufus. Jam Press/Muttville Senior Dog Rescue Four days later, Reiff and her family went to meet the dog at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue and instantly fell in love. 'He felt like a gift,' Reiff told What's The Jam. 'Seeing his happy face reminded us so much of our beloved boy. It brought peace to a house that had been crying for days.' The family adopted him on the spot and named him Ziggy. The hound made himself at home right away. 9 Reiff wasn't sure if she was ready for a new dog after losing Rufus. Jam Press/Muttville Senior Dog Rescue 9 The similarities between Rufus and Ziggy were 'uncanny.' Jam Press/Jillian Reiff Aside from the 'uncanny' resemblance, Reiff noticed that Ziggy had the same habits that Rufus did, such as greeting the kids every morning, pulling a blanket over his head at bedtime and howling like a wolf — which raised her suspicions. Reiff ordered a DNA test for Ziggy and matched the results to the one she had done for Rufus years prior — and the outcome shocked her. Ziggy and Rufus were not just the same mix. Ziggy was Rufus's dad. 'There is no science I can find to explain this, only kismet,' Reiff said. 9 Ziggy made himself at home right away. Now, the Reiffs said their home is full of delight, feeling reunited with their beloved late pup in spirit and in the same home — all due to an Instagram post. 'We have cried many times since last Thursday, this time in unadulterated joy,' Reiff shared. 'The fact Ziggy is here and with us to spend the rest of his amazing life is because of Muttville.'

Jennifer Love Hewitt on Horror Comeback: ‘I'm There for the Moms'

With the legacy sequel 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' (same title, different movie) less than a month away from release, franchise stalwart Jennifer Love Hewitt sat down with Extra to discuss her return to the series — a return that she says she never expected. 'When I heard it was happening, I think my honest reaction was, 'Oh my gosh. That's great for them.' I never pictured them even asking me to do it,' Hewitt said. For the '9-1-1' star, her reprisal of Julie James serves as a bridge between the generation that embraced the first movie and younger audiences. More from IndieWire Seth Rogen Auditioned for Controversial 'Gigli' Role: 'I Saw Myself at the Oscars' If I Got It, but the Tape Would 'End My Career' Today Join Insider's Venice, a Once in a Lifetime Trip to the World's Oldest Film Festival 'I have confidence that the moms who are buying those tickets for their daughters to see the movie are there because they remember who Julie was, and they're where I am now, and we carry that with pride,' Hewitt explained. 'And so… their kids will love all the young people in the movie and I'm there for the moms.' The original film, based on the classic teen novel by Lois Duncan (who had her own fascinating backstory), found a group of teenagers pursued by a hooded killer with a hook the summer after they struck a man with a car then coveted it up. Hewitt is being careful not to divulge details about the new 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' leaving it at: 'I could tell you it's called 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' there's a… killer in it, and a hook and Julie James. That's what I could say.' Hewitt credits the reboot's existence to one of the original horror movie 'Final Girls.' '[I'm] so psyched for Neve [Campbell] and… all the people in these franchises who are… coming back and doing these things. It's really cool. I mean, Jamie Lee Curtis… paved the way for all of us to be able to do 119 of these and continue doing them into our 60s and still be badasses,' Hewitt said. '[Curtis] deserves all the credit. Like, it's so cool, and the rest of us just get to follow.' 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' hits theaters on July 18.
