‘It could be a disaster': Guardiola uncertain about Manchester City's next season
He added that he will not make a final decision about his future until December or January.
German coach Jürgen Klopp, formerly of Liverpool, has already criticized this expanded edition of the Club World Cup, calling it 'the worst idea ever implemented in football.'
Guardiola and his squad are set to face Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal on Tuesday in the round of 16 of the global tournaments.
City remain the only team in the competition with a perfect record so far and is considered one of the favorites to win the title.
'Would I like to have two months to prepare for the next season? Yes, but the situation is what it is,' Guardiola said at a press conference ahead of the match against Al-Hilal.
'Many teams complain, but if they were here, they would be happy.'
Expressing concerns over his players' physical and mental freshness for the next campaign, he added:
'Maybe in November, December, or January, it will be a disaster, the team will be exhausted because of the World Cup. I don't know, it's the first time this has happened.' he concluded.

Mbappe could make his Club World Cup debut after being listed as substitute against Juventus
Mbappe missed the first three games of the tournament with an illness. Alonso said Monday it was possible Mbappe could play in his first Club World Cup match in the knockout round, and the French star arrived with the team several hours before the game was set to begin at Hard Rock Stadium. Mbappe had a gastrointestinal illness before Real Madrid's opening Club World Cup match and was treated at a hospital. He sat out all three group matches as Madrid won two and drew the other. He walked onto the field ahead of Tuesday's match to an ovation from the fans in the soggy venue that had seen downpours throughout the afternoon. Mbappe's return brings star power to a tournament that took a hit when Lionel Messi and Inter Miami were eliminated in the round of 16 by Mbappe's and Messi's former club, Paris Saint-Germain. Madrid captain Dani Carvajal and defender Eder Militao were also set to return on Tuesday. Carvajal has not played since tearing his ACL and undergoing surgery last fall. Both were also listed as substitutes. Tennis: Third seed Zverev stunned at Wimbledon - Omni sports
Alexander Zverev suffered his earliest Grand Slam exit since 2019 as the German third seed was stunned by France's Arthur Rinderknech in the Wimbledon first round on Tuesday. Zverev, a three-time Grand Slam runner-up, slipped to a shock 7-6 (7/3), 6-7 (8/10), 6-3, 6-7 (5/7), 6-4 defeat against the world number 72 in a marathon clash lasting four hours and 40 minutes on Centre Court. The 28-year-old is the highest-ranked seed to fall so far in this year's men's singles at the All England Club. Zverev, who reached the Australian Open final in January, endured his latest Wimbledon flop in a tie that initially started on Monday evening. When play was halted due to Wimbledon's 2200 GMT curfew, the match was level at one-set all. But Rinderknech seized his chance once play resumed in the blazing London heat on Tuesday afternoon. Rinderknech hit 25 aces and although Zverev replied with 31 of his own, it was not enough to stave off an embarrassing defeat. Zverev has failed to make it past the fourth round at Wimbledon in nine visits to the grass-court major. He had reached at least the second round in his previous 20 Grand Slam appearances. Reports: Messi Considers Leaving Inter Miami
Rana Atef Press reports have revealed a major surprise regarding the future of Argentine star Lionel Messi with his current club, Inter Miami, especially as his contract is set to expire in December, after he joined the team in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer following the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. According to ESPN Argentina, Messi is considering a new experience, possibly on loan for next season, in preparation for the 2026 World Cup, with the aim of maintaining his fitness and securing a second World Cup title with the Argentine national team. The report indicated that Messi is exploring the option of temporarily playing in a more competitive league ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The report also noted that contract renewal talks between Messi and Inter Miami's management are currently on hold, in anticipation of a possible departure in the near future. Despite Messi's emotional and historic ties with Barcelona, a return to the club appears unlikely due to its ongoing financial struggles and tensions with club president Joan Laporta. A return to his former club Paris Saint-Germain also seems distant, given the French team's current focus on building a young and energetic squad. Meanwhile, Manchester City has shown interest in signing Messi, but the likelihood of that happening remains uncertain, despite the close relationship between the player and City manager Pep Guardiola. Inter Miami was recently eliminated from the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup in the United States after a heavy 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"
