Empowerment Through Art: Egypt and Germany Unite at 3rd Edition of Her Art Forum at GEM on May 16

The third edition of the Empowerment Her Art Forum (EHAF), organized by the Art Today Foundation for Arts, will be held at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) from May 16 to 20. This event will unite a distinguished group of female artists from around the globe, alongside ambassadors, diplomats, and notable figures from the realms of art, media, and culture.
The Empowerment Her Art Forum serves as an international celebration of women's artistic achievements worldwide. Six talented artists from Germany—Marianne Pitzen, Andrea Isa, Consuelo Méndez, Daniela Flörsheim, Karola Teschler, and Yasemin Yilmaz—will showcase their work at the Grand Egyptian Museum.
In return, six Egyptian artists will be welcomed in 2026 as part of the new initiative WE – Women in Exchange at the Women's Museum in Bonn.
A highlight of this year's forum will be the recognition of Marianne Pitzen, the founder of the world's first women's museum in Bonn. Her decades-long commitment to promoting female art and developing international support programs makes her the ideal guest of honor for the forum.
"We are delighted to be in Egypt and to exhibit our artworks at such an outstanding venue as GEM, and to use this opportunity to meet and network with art and artists from Egypt and around the world. Therefore, participating in such a significant event as EHAF 3 is particularly important for us artists." Pointed out Yasemin Yilmaz, one of the German artists participating in the event.
This year's edition is held under the patronage of the Egyptian Ministries of Environment, Social Solidarity, Culture, and Youth & Sports.
The forum aims to emphasize the crucial role of art as a powerful tool for women's empowerment, providing a dynamic platform that includes a visual art exhibition featuring exceptional works, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and live painting sessions.
The event seeks to encourage cultural exchange and promote the values of peace, justice, and equality through creativity.
Artist Sherine Badr, Founder and CEO of the Art Today Foundation, highlighted that the forum transcends a mere art event, evolving into a genuine platform for transformation and empowerment.
Badr stated, 'We are not only celebrating creativity; we are dedicated to empowering female artists and providing them with the recognition and visibility they deserve by illuminating their inspiring journeys.'
EHAF 2025 is supported by several esteemed institutions and organizations, including the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, UNHCR, UN Women, the Spanish Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo, and the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center.
The German artist Yasemin Yilmaz is among the curators of this year's edition. Additional support comes from Rosa Flowers, Sanad Foundation, and Fresh Farm, with EgyptAir serving as the official carrier.

Ruby to hold concerts in the Netherlands, France - Music - Arts & Culture
Egyptian actress and singer Ruby will hold two concerts in the Netherlands and France in October. Ruby will perform at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, Netherlands, on 11 October, followed by a performance in Paris on 12 October. This will be the first time the singer takes the stage in both countries. The tour's announcement comes shortly after Ruby performed at Morocco's Mawazine Festival (19-27 June), an event that also featured other Egyptian performers, including Egyptian Project, Hamaki, Tamer Ashour, and Carmen Soliman. Ruby's international exposure began over the past years. In June 2024, she embarked on her first North American tour, performing in four cities in Canada and the US. Born in 1980, Rania Hussein Mohamed Tawfik, popularly known as Ruby, started taking minor roles in films in the late 1990s. She made her first significant appearance in Yousef Chahine's film, "Silence"....We're Rolling (2001). In parallel, she launched her singing career with the single Enta Aref Eih (What Do You Know) in 2003. The music video was shot in Prague, presenting Ruby belly dancing on the streets. Over the years, Ruby has released several albums and singles. She appeared in numerous TV ads while continuing to work in films and television series. In recent years, she starred in the television series This Is What Went Down (2019) and Mrs. Mayor (2023), as well as the film Mommies Group (2023). Held between Italy and Egypt, 'Tale of Two Cities' unites 13 artists across disciplines to explore geography, poetry, and memory through contemporary art, design, and visual storytelling. Jun 29, 2025 From Milan to Alexandria, 'Tale of Two Cities' returns for a second edition with a lineup of 13 Egyptian and Italian artists and designers. Organised by Art D'Égypte by CulturVator, the exhibition spans two major venues—MA*GA Museum and Fumagalli Gallery in Italy—before heading to Alexandria later this year. With a focus on memory, geography, and artistic legacy, the exhibit weaves together the poetic and the contemporary through painting, photography, sculpture, and design, building on last year's 'Tale of Two Cities' exhibit between Alexandria and Athens, Greece. Here's a look at the artists shaping this East-West dialogue... Ahmed Farid (Egypt) A self-taught abstract painter whose work explores the chaos and vibrancy of urban life.
