Fabrizio Romano Says Bayern Munich, Liverpool-Linked Ace Not Leaving PSG

This summer, PSG standout Bradley Barcola has found himself at the center of transfer speculation, with reported interest from Bayern Munich and now Liverpool. However, one reporter has dismissed the talk, stating there's no real movement toward Barcola leaving the club. PSG have built a squad with plenty of depth, and with that comes competition for playing time. Naturally, some players might seek bigger roles elsewhere. Advertisement Barcola has been battling for minutes with Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, which has sparked some of the exit rumors now making the rounds. Recently, Liverpool are reportedly planning a move for Barcola, even after securing a deal for 22-year-old German attacker Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, according to The Sun. Bayern Munich and Liverpool target set for PSG stayAccording to journalist Fabrizio Romano on The Here We Go Podcast, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has personally stepped in to shut down Bayern Munich's chances of signing Barcola, a move that now looks highly unlikely given the current situation. Advertisement 'Barcola was one of Bayern Munich's main targets this summer,' Romano said (h/t Le10Sport). 'Barcola is a player they would love to add to the squad. The real issue is that Paris Saint-Germain, and especially president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, have informed Bayern that they do not want to sell Barcola.' Last month, Foot Mercato's Josué Cassé also reported that Barcola isn't leaving PSG, as he remains a key part of the club's project and has no intention of moving on.

American candidate Tim Mayer confirms he's running against FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem

WHITTLEBURY, England (AP) — American ex-Formula 1 race steward Tim Mayer confirmed his candidacy for the presidency of the sport's governing body on Friday, claiming that incumbent Mohammed Ben Sulayem has failed to deliver on promises of reform. Mayer said his bid was about 'restoring genuine democracy' inside the FIA after a centralization of power under Ben Sulayem. Mayer is the son of McLaren team co-founder Teddy Mayer. He has held senior roles in U.S. racing series and was a long-time F1 steward until last year. Ben Sulayem, elected to the post in 2021, has faced criticism over his management. In April, Robert Reid resigned as FIA deputy president for sport in protest against how the organization is run. ___ AP auto racing:
