According to a report from CBS Sports, Cupp is signing with the Baltimore Ravens as they deal with injuries at the tight end position. Starting tight end Isaiah Likely notably went down with a foot injury in camp, requiring surgery. Cupp appeared in one game during the 2024 season but primarily spent the year on the practice squad after initially signing as an undrafted free agent. During Cupp's two seasons at Patrick Mahomes' alma mater, Texas Tech, in 2022 and 2023, he appeared in 24 games, tallying 23 catches for 246 yards and four touchdowns. The Chiefs have seen immediate progress from their 2025 undrafted free agent tight end, Jake Briningstool. Lynx acquire DiJonai Carrington from Wings for Diamond Miller, Karlie Samuelson, second-round pick
The Minnesota Lynx acquired guard DiJonai Carrington from the Dallas Wings, the teams announced on Sunday. Going to Dallas in exchange are forward Diamond Miller, guard Karlie Samuelson and the Lynx's 2027 second-round draft pick. Minnesota already had the WNBA's best record by a rather significant margin at 24-5, six games ahead of the reigning champion New York Liberty. Now, the Lynx have bolstered their defense by adding Carrington. The five-year veteran was named to the All-Defensive first team last season, in addition to winning the league's Most Improved Player award. This season with the Wings, Carrington averaged 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 20 games. She was Dallas' third-leading scorer behind Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale. If she maintains that production, Carrington will be Minnesota's fourth-leading scorer and rebounder. Carrington, 27, was in her first season with Dallas after playing four years with the Connecticut Sun, who drafted her in the second round of the 2021 WNBA Draft. Last year, she averaged 12.7 points and five rebounds per game on her way to winning Most Improved Player honors while the Sun finished with the WNBA's second-best record at 28-12 before losing the Lynx in the playoff semifinals. Patriots draft bust makes highlight reel catch at Chiefs practice
Former New England Patriots wide receiver Tyquan Thornton is making an impact in training camp for the Kansas City Chiefs. Fans have been buzzing about his incredible corner end zone reception on a throw from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at a recent practice. Mahomes threw a perfect corner pass behind the defender, and Thornton went up to get the ball, while also making sure to tap both toes inbounds before falling out. The Patriots selected Thornton in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft. He had a disappointing run with the team and was ultimately released last November. In the same month, he signed with the Chiefs' practice squad. He also signed a reserve/future contract with the team in February. Thornton has 39 receptions for 385 yards and two touchdowns during his three-year NFL career. It looks like he's off to a good start with the Chiefs to change the narrative surrounding his name after a failed run in New England. There is still plenty of time for him to turn things around considering he is only 24 years old. Thornton has solid physical abilities, most notably his height and speed.
