Darsheel Safary opens up on lack of support from Bollywood after Taare Zameen Par: ‘It emotionally hurts thinking…'
Actor Darsheel Safary made his Bollywood debut as a child actor in Aamir Khan's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par and earned praise for his performance. He then went on to star in several films like Zokkomon, Bumm Bumm Bole, and more, but didn't receive the same recognition. In an interview with News18, the actor has now opened up about being sidelined by Bollywood. Darsheel Safary says he's fine with Bollywood's lack of backing to him.
The years that followed Taare Zameen Par were not what Darsheel had expected. Despite being praised for his performance, he didn't receive the kind of support or projects one might have anticipated. Speaking about this, Darsheel said, "You need to understand when to block out certain information. People will talk about everything but you can't shut everybody's mouth. I can't go into the details of what news is being planted about me," he said.
Darsheel added, 'I would never even think about the fact that Bollywood didn't back me more. Who am I for them to back me? I am not their saga bhai. I just need to have talent and strength. I worked hard for that. It emotionally hurts thinking about such stuff, honestly, and derails you from your work." Darsheel Safary's upcoming series
Darsheel was last seen in the film Phule, which also featured Pratik Gandhi and Patralekha in lead roles. The actor will next be seen in the web series Gamerlog. Apart from Darsheel, the show also stars Anjali Sivaraman, Chetan Carpentar Dhawan, Akash Menon, Shubroy Chowdhary, Chinmay Chandraunshu, and Kunal Bhan in key roles.

He concluded, 'I was more concerned for the ones close to me.' Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 10: Aamir Khan's film, Sitaare Zameen Par, entered into the second week of release and has maintained its grip at the box office. Directed by RS Prasanna, it is the spiritual sequel of Taare Zameen Par. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par made an estimated business of ₹ 10.76 crore on Sunday, June 29. The film saw an overall 36.46% occupancy in Hindi language on Sunday. It also released in Tamil and Telugu. The film earned ₹ 62 lakh in Tamil and ₹ 38 lakh in Telegu. Earlier on Saturday, the film earned ₹ 12.6 crore. The Aamir Khan movie was reported to release in theatres with over ₹ 6 crore business on day 1 if advance booking is considered. As per the website, the film had sold 1,15,344 tickets for 9,542 shows in all languages nationwide in advance booking. Alongside lead actor Amir Khan, Sitaare Zameen Par star cast includes Genelia Deshmukh, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Ashish Pendse, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar, Aayush Bhansali, Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala and Ankita Sehgal in key roles. The filmmakers will not be releasing 'Sitaare Zameen Par' on any streaming platform. Hence, the movie is theatre-only release. Aamir Khan Productions reacted after Multiplex Association of India praised this decision. The makers shared the statement of Multiplex Association of India on their official Instagram account and stated, 'Grateful for the overwhelming love and support MAI (red heart emoticon).'
