TV tonight: more top-notch tunes in romantic drama Mix Tape
9pm, BBC TwoThe will-they-won't-they drama about two people who fell in love and parted 20 years ago takes a heartbreakingly dark turn, as we learn the real reason Alison (Teresa Palmer) left Sheffield without telling Daniel (Jim Sturgess). The pair finally meet up in Sydney, but it was always going to be an awkward reunion – especially as they both now have spouses. Was their love only ever meant to stay in the past? Beautiful, tragic and set to a top-notch soundtrack. Hollie Richardson 8pm, Channel 4It's the semi-finals, and the four remaining pastry pummellers must create an edible floating city. There's also a special guest judge dropping by: Gabriella Cugno, the official chocolatier for the 2023 film Wonka. She'll be challenging them to create a chocolate bar fit for a blockbuster. Ali Catterall 8pm, Channel 5Helen Skelton, JB Gill and Jules Hudson explore more of the British coastline. On the itinerary: Tynemouth Long Sands, the new surfing hotspot in North Tyneside; a conservation project involving photographing porpoises in Pembrokeshire; and mustard being made in Norfolk. HR 9pm, U&AlibiThe Auckland PI Alexa Crowe (Lucy Lawless) may be less gung-ho than Lawless's Xena: Warrior Princess but she gets the job done with similar good humour. Her latest case is a slippery one, not least because it involves murder at a family-run coconut oil firm. But there's also a bubbly, babbling cameo from Bill Bailey as her former client Enzo. Graeme Virtue 10pm, Channel 4The 1991 murder of Janine Downes is this week's cold case that the Silent Witness star Emilia Fox and the former senior detective Dr Graham Hill are attempting to crack. Downes's body was found in Wolverhampton's red light district – interviews with key witnesses lead them to ask if she may have been the victim of a serial killer. HR 11.30pm, Sky MaxA very grownup cartoon from DC Studios' James Gunn, following a black ops team that is a motley crew of monsters. There's a harrowing flashback in this episode, as 'the weasel' has a nightmare that shows his past – and he's definitely not 'dreaming about squirrels' like the others assume. HR Women Talking (Sarah Polley, 2022), 11pm, BBC Two Based on the 2018 novel by Miriam Toews, which was in turn based on true events, Sarah Polley's Women Talking is startlingly unconventional. The story of a Mennonite community in remote Bolivia whose women discover they have been drugged and raped, it centres on the discussion of how they should react. Do they leave, do they fight back, or do they do nothing? With a world-beating cast (Rooney Mara, Jessie Buckley, Claire Foy and Frances McDormand), the film is light on action but will linger long after the credits roll. Stuart Heritage Women's International One-Day cricket: England v India, 1.45pm, Sky Sports Main Event The third one-day international in the three-match series. Women's Euro 2025 football: ITV1 7pm/BBC One 7.30pm The first semi-final. The second semi-final match is on Wednesday on ITV1 at 7pm or BBC One at 7.30pm.

Jennifer Aniston opens up about 'not putting pressure' on romantic relationships amid new romance with hypnotist hunk Jim Curtis
Jennifer Aniston opened up about 'not putting pressure' on romantic relationships as she spoke in a new interview this week. The actress, 56, is currently dating 49-year-old hypnotist hunk Jim Curtis, with their romance being revealed earlier this month. Jennifer - who was previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 until 2005, and then Theroux from 2011 until 2017 - sparked romance rumours after she was spotted with the life coach on vacation in Mallorca, Spain, during Fourth of July weekend. And this week she told Closer magazine about her love life: 'A good place to be is to be open to [love], but not seeking it. 'That way you don't put any pressure on the situation, and if it happens organically, then amazing.' She then added of wanting to keep her love life under wraps as much as she can: 'No matter how long I have been in the industry, I will never get used to people thinking they have any sort of right to know about your personal life.' 'She's dating Jim and is very happy, but she's still taking things slowly,' a source previously told They adding that Jen 'feels very connected to Jim, as they have the same level of emotional intelligence, unlike some of her previous suitors.' Last week Aniston appeared to be dropping hints about the new man in her life. On Monday, she took to Instagram Stories with a pair of cryptic posts that had fans reading between the lines. First, the Friends alum reposted a tweet that read: 'The Friends theme song was right, no one told us life was gonna be this way' - seemingly referencing an unexpected new chapter in her life. Then came the real eyebrow-raiser: a quote from 'mindfulness expert' Case Kenny that read, 'People who still radiate love in a world that has shown them its darkest sides, please never change.' Fans immediately began theorizing that the message was about Curtis, who's known for his uplifting, love-centric philosophy. Curtis regularly posts inspirational quotes and 'manifestations' to help people 'break free from their past and patterns' to find love - and Aniston has been following him on the social media platform for almost two years. Last week Aniston appeared to be dropping hints about the new man in her life. On Monday, she took to Instagram Stories with a pair of cryptic posts that had fans reading between the lines Meanwhile, Jen's Instagram clues came hot on the heels of Curtis expressing how meaningful their Mallorca getaway had been. 'I am back from vacation and what an experience!' he wrote in his newsletter, according to Page Six. 'When I was sick, sad, stuck and in pain I never thought I would have the abundance, joy and love I now experience on a daily basis. 'I just took one step, made one decision and the next followed — now I look back and realize, oh! That course, that life change, that pain, resulted in this magic.' Jim added: 'The same life that brings struggle also brings opportunity. The possibility of something better — more aligned, more free, more meaningful — is always here.' Curtis has had his own share of life-changing challenges. Beginning in the summer of 1995, right after his freshman year at the University of New Hampshire, when he was hit with severe nerve pain that would stay with him for years. An MRI later revealed lesions on his spinal cord, a diagnosis that pushed Curtis to pivot from his 'frat guy athlete' persona and explore a different path focused on healing and personal transformation. He credits a university professor for setting that new course into motion. 'He taught me to meditate and introduced me to the idea of mindfulness: focusing on just being present,' Curtis shared in a 2017 interview. Curtis was previously married to Rachel Napolitano, though their relationship reportedly ended not long after she gave birth to their son, Aidan, who is now a teenager. Aniston, of course, has had her own romantic history in the spotlight. She was famously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 before their headline-making split when Pitt began a relationship with Angelina Jolie while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith. She later tied the knot with actor and writer Justin Theroux in 2015, but the marriage ended in divorce three years later. In a 2022 interview, Aniston opened up for the first time about her private struggle to have children — and the emotional toll it took. 'It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,' she admitted. 'All the years and years and years of speculation... It was really hard. 'I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it,' she added. ' 'I would've given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.' You just don't think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.' Still, Aniston noted: 'I have zero regrets.'

Are Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson actually dating?
The line between on and off screen flirtation appears to have somewhat blurred for Pamela Anderson, 58, and Liam Neeson, 73, leaving fans in a state of total confusion. In what could simply be a determined bit of marketing for their new comedy film The Naked Gun, which is released on August 1, the Baywatch star and Taken actor seem to have as much off screen chemistry as they do on. For a new interview with You Magazine, the pair were reported to be 'all over each other' in a photoshoot when given props and some creative freedom to pose for pictures together. In the interview, Liam confessed that his favourite part of filming were 'the sex scenes' with Pamela, for which they had an intimacy coordinator. Speaking of the coordinator, the Love, Actually star explained: 'I'd never had one before. But she was in the background. There was no kind of, 'OK! Excuse me!'''. 'She knew when to walk away,' Pamela joked, pretending to be an exasperated intimacy coordinator, throwing her hands in the air and storming off, continuing the bit by adding: ''I can't take this!'' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'She said, 'This is too hot for me. I'm going for coffee,'' Liam added. Liam also referred to his co-star's audition tape as 'incredibly sexy' and 'funny' – and in another interview reiterated the sexy point – while Pamela said their chemistry was 'important', with both agreeing it came naturally… Both are single, with The Last Showgirl star Pamela having confessed in September that not being in a relationship after five marriages was 'tough' but that she was 'much happier' now. Meanwhile Liam hasn't seriously dated anyone since his wife and Parent Trap actress Natasha Richardson tragically died aged 45 in 2009 from head injuries sustained in a skiing accident. 'I'm madly in love with her,' Liam said of Pamela in a previous interview while promoting the film. 'With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her. She's just terrific to work with,' Liam told People. 'I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film.' Meanwhile Pamela called Liam the 'perfect gentleman'. 'He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him,' she said, despite having entered the rehearsal room 'shaking' with nerves, intimidated to meet him. 'Once we got going he's such a gentleman, he's such a sweetheart. He's so giving and generous and we're very complimentary and supportive. You can't help but fall in love with Liam,' she said. Fans' eyebrows are sky-high at this point… 'Are they in love or something?' asked @kingshagrin. That is the question. Their overtly flirty interviews could be part of a whole marketing campaign for The Naked Gun, their sequel to slapstick 1980s and 90s comedy of the same name. In it, Liam plays head of the police squad Frank Drebin Jr who must follow in his father's footsteps and save the world, with Pamela as 'femme fatale' Beth, who goes to the police for help after her brother's murder. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A previous promotional video for reboot shows Pam and Liam hamming up their off-screen flirtation, very much tongue in cheek. More Trending When asked how they were building chemistry for the role, Liam innocently responded, 'Nothing out of the ordinary,' before a clip showed the pair in various romantic settings which were very much out of the ordinary. Liam was shown putting his arm around Pam in front of an ocean sunset, the duo laughed in a fairy-lit restaurant over spaghetti, and danced in the moonlight, even going so far as doing trust falls. After all these clips played out like a romantic comedy montage, it cut to Pamela sitting next to Liam in the interview setting, as she said: 'Yeah, just the usual.' The Naked Gun is out on August 1.
