Ava Max cancels Don't Click Play Tour just weeks after announcing gigs

Perth Now04-07-2025
Ava Max has cancelled her upcoming tour.
The Sweet but Psycho hitmaker recently announced that she would be bringing her Don't Click Play Tour to the UK, North America and Europe in support of her forthcoming album of the same name - slated for release on August 22 - but has now scrapped the dates as the gigs are not up to her standards.
Ava wrote in an Instagram Story: "Pushing back my tour is (the) most difficult decision I've had to make, but when I perform for you, it has to be of a standard that I'm happy with, and it's just not there yet."
The 31-year-old singer continued: "Being on stage is my favourite thing in the world. In order to put on a show that you all deserve, I need more time. I promise you all it will be worth the wait. I love you all and can't wait to see you. SOON, I PROMISE."
Ava's tour had been due to start in Los Angeles on September 3 and would've seen her play across North America before performing 15 shows across the UK and Europe culminating in November.
The star previously explained that she often feels "more comfortable" being on the road touring but always has to make some time for herself before taking to the stage.
Ava told The Kelly Clarkson Show: "I did all kinds of shows in the US and it was so cool just doing night after night. It is weird. In the pandemic, I was stuck at home and I was like, 'How am I going to connect?'
"I do a lot of stuff but I always have Ava time carved out right before I perform. So everyone is putting my wires on, my mic pack and everything and then I have to have two minutes to myself where I meditate and close my eyes so I can remember my name and what I'm singing. I really thrive through the chaos so I'm actually more comfortable on tour [than at home] but I still need my Ava time carved in. "

Jeremy Renner gets on well with ex-wife Sonny Pacheco

Jeremy Renner has a "lovely" relationship with Sonni Pacheco. The Hawkeye actor split from the Wingman actress in 2014 after just 10 months of marriage, and five years later, she sought sole custody of their daughter Ava, now 12, after alleging Jeremy had threatened to kill her and then himself and had bitten their little girl. However, despite the bitterness between them then, Jeremy - who denied Sonni's allegations - admitted their relationship is amicable now and they co-parent well as they share custody of Ava. He told the Guardian's Saturday magazine: "[We] get along very well, and we're in each other's lives. It's lovely... "It's great. She's got a new baby and she sends me beautiful pictures." The 54-year-old actor admitted Sonni's allegations about him being made public didn't "feel good". He said: "Whatever stress I've had in life I've tried to find a way of laughing through it. And that's where sometimes cynicism comes out — you think, 'I'm just going to have a laugh at this stuff.'" When asked to specify the "stuff" he was talking about, he added: "Being accused of things you've not done, right? That doesn't feel good to anybody. It certainly doesn't feel good when you're a celebrity and it's known to everybody." Jeremy confirmed he was discussing the allegations made during the divorce proceedings and maintained his innocence. He said: "No, and they happen all the time. It's all the salaciousness that happens out there. It's clickbait, and it hurts my feelings and it dehumanises people... "It doesn't matter to me what people say. "They're saying it for their own reasons and not for the right reasons or the truth. And I'm used to that, because I'm a public figure. I don't read people's reviews, I don't read people's comments. I don't care. That's not part of my life." Although Sonni, 37, had fought for sole custody, the Hurt Locker star insisted it hadn't worried him that he might lose time with his daughter. He said: "That's just lawyers talking. That's lawyers arguing. The custody was easy." Last year, Jeremy was romantically linked to fashion journalist CC Mason but he insisted he is currently single and focused on Ava and his RennerVation charity, which supports children in foster care and those deemed at risk. Asked if he is dating, he said: 'No, not at the moment. 'I'm pretty focused on my daughter and the foundation for the kids.'

Kelly Clarkson ‘devastated' over postponing opening of her Vegas residency

Kelly Clarkson was 'devastated' to postpone the opening of her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, The 43-year-old Grammy winner had been set to kick off her Studio Sessions residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on 4 July, with 18 shows scheduled through to 15 November. But just hours before taking the stage on Independence Day, Kelly announced she would postpone the opening two performances. A source has now told People the decision came after intense rehearsals left her with vocal strain that threatened long-term damage. The insider said: 'She was devastated and felt terrible for fans that had travelled to see her. 'She didn't want to cancel any shows. She's been very excited about the Las Vegas residency and connecting with her fans.' The source added Kelly's apparent vocal issues came on suddenly following long days of preparation for the show. They said: 'Even as a seasoned singer, she pushes herself too hard. 'Vegas is very dry too, and it seemed this was an issue as well for the vocal health. She was pretty much forced to postpone to prevent long-term damage.' Kelly addressed fans directly in an Instagram post ahead of the first performance, writing: 'Prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I'm going to take this weekend and the week after to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.' She added: 'I want the shows to be perfect for y'all. The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong.' Despite the last-minute postponement, Kelly is expected to begin her run on Friday 11 July. People's source added: 'She's ready to kick things off this weekend though.' The Studio Sessions residency marks Kelly's return to Las Vegas following sold-out performances at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in 2023 and 2024. She announced the new engagement in February, saying she was 'so excited' to be back. Outside of music, Kelly wrapped the sixth season of The Kelly Clarkson Show in June and confirmed season seven is slated to air this autumn.

Kelly Clarkson's ‘hidden battles' contributed to abrupt show cancellations: ‘She's on thin ice'

Kelly Clarkson cancelled her Las Vegas residency minutes before showtime on July 4 over vocal issues – but she also faces 'hidden battles,' sources tell Page Six. The singer and TV host axed the opening night of her 'Studio Sessions' residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace just 90 minutes before showtime last Friday, devastating fans. Clarkson, 43, said she could not risk causing 'serious damage' to her voice, as one Vegas insider told us, 'She belts out every single note. She's an incredibly powerful singer, but it takes its toll on her vocal cords and she's come incredibly close to needing surgery before. 'She cannot risk damaging her cords further – she's on thin ice.' Back in March, Clarkson, 43, missed 10 episodes of her NBC talk show, with her spot being filled by guest hosts – and was absent again the following month when Andy Cohen stepped in to host. Both times she cited personal matters as her reason for taking off. Clarkson has been open about the toll her turbulent divorce from Brandon Blackstock, father of their kids, daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remy, 8, took on her. A second insider in the know added, 'Kelly's personal life is so insanely complicated…Kelly is fighting some serious hidden battles that very few people are privy to …it's a source of emotional and therefore physical distress for her.' Clarkson has been candid about just how much the 2020 split after seven years of marriage and the ensuing legal battle took out of her, telling Apple Music in 2023, 'Just to be brutally honest, I did not handle [the divorce] well.' Page Six has reached out to Clarkson's rep for comment. After canceling the first weekend, Clarkson is expected to kick off the residency this Friday. In an emotional note, she said she wanted to create the 'most intimate and extraordinary experience' for her 'incredible fans.' However, she noted, 'The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. The 'Stronger' singer added, 'I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone.' Clarkson reassured her fans that the career-spanning show is 'incredible' and concluded, 'I can't wait to be back next weekend and show y'all what we've been working on.' Page Six has previously revealed how the star's 'very painful' personal issues may force her to quit 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' next year. In May, the 'Since U Been Gone' singer also lamented how the NBC show had held her back from going on tour, saying, 'We haven't done a show in a while, y'all, 'cause I have a talk show. It's like a whole other job.' Page Six has alsolearned Clarkson's talk show contract expires after Season 7 in 2026 and she may not renew. Last month, a source told us, 'She is a compassionate and caring person, and what has happened [recently] has helped her to move beyond the divorce.'
