Kym Marsh to star in new play Single White Female
Former Coronation Street star Marsh said: 'I am so excited to be bringing this brilliant, brand new and thrilling play to theatres across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
'I remember being totally gripped by the movie when I first saw it in the cinema and could never have imagined back then that I'd be starring in the world premiere of its life on stage.
'Get ready to be thrilled, shocked and entertained and watch out for those stiletto heels.'
Marsh, who first shot to fame in the band Hear'Say, went on to play a major role in Coronation Street from 2006 to 2019, before starring in Waterloo Road.
The new play updates the plot of the film, which was itself based on a novel called SWF Seeks Same by John Lutz.
'Full of dark humour and sharp and suspenseful storytelling, this new play updates the original story to the age of social media and all that it brings, in a gripping tale of ambition, obsession, and the desperate need for belonging in an isolated world,' producers said.
The play will open at Brighton's Theatre Royal on January 9, and will then tour the UK and Ireland until June 13.
Full casting is yet to be announced. Tickets are on sale now.

Coronation Street legend disowns own brother after discovering huge deceit
Coronation Street's Kevin Webster disowned his brother Carl Webster as various truths began to come out on Friday's episode of the ITV soap about each of their lies Coronation Street's Kevin Webster disowned his brother Carl as various truths began to come out on Friday's episode. The legendary character, who has been played by Michael Le Vell on ITV's flagship soap since 1983, was dealt a surprise earlier this year when his long-lost brother Carl (Jonathan Howard) arrived in Weatherfield, and has since employed him in his garage. The mechanic was diagnosed with testicular cancer some months ago and managed to beat the disease but amid suspicions that Carl is growing more and more attracted to his wife Abi (Sally Carman), he had decided to let everyone think he was still suffering. Amongst all of this, Carl has been using the garage to do some dodgy deals with Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer), and the pair were discussing their plot to steal a £30,000 car whilst they tried to stand away from prying eyes in the ginnel. He warned her that the chance to take it was 'now or never' and she soon snuck into the unlocked garage, took the car and sped off. But unfortunately for them, Kevin had overheard the entire conversation when he came out of number 13, and watched on as the con woman drove off. Kevin chased after the her, but struggled to catch his breath and had to stop. He was seen by Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) and the Rovers barmaid insisted on taking him off to hospital, unaware that he is lying about his cancer diagnosis. Carl rushed to see Kevin in the hospital, where the pair ended up having a confrontation as various truths began to come out. Kevin began to tell Carl that he felt 'like an idiot' and told his brother to 'drop the act' when he pretended to be exasperated at the news that a car had been stolen. When Kevin accused Carl of lying to him, Carl knew exactly how to hit back. Just before entering Kevin's room, Carl had asked the doctor if his sudden deterioration had anything to do with his chemotherapy, to which the doctor had informed him that such treatment had finished 'weeks ago'. Having worked out that Kevin had lied to him and everyone else, Carl asked Kevin how he could possibly lie about having cancer, he tried to insist that he did it to save his marriage. Viewers will remember that Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) previously rumbled Kevin's secret, having been familiar with how treatment works thanks to his daughter Hope's own battle several years ago. Abi believes that Kevin 'isn't responding' to the treatment, and when she tried to discuss the idea that Jack (Kyran Bowes) needed to be told more about his dad's condition, he tried to throw her off the subject. And in one final scene, Carl arrived at Kevin's house to try to have it out with him but was warned to 'make it quick'. Carl protested that Abi deserved to know about Kevin's condition, but the mechanic insisted that his brother will become part of the lie and go along with it because he has the power to 'shop' him at any time. In making things absolutely clear, Kevin told Carl: "I felt like I should've done more, being the older one, made you feel like you belonged. I could've done something about it, but I was too wrapped up in my own world. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for freeing me from all that guilt. Part of me started to believe that you didn't exist. Now I can go back to that. You are dead to me. Never had, never will." Fans of ITV's flagship soap opera will know that Kevin was right to have his suspicions when it came to Carl and Abi, and that the pair are set to give into temptation and embark on an affair. In the days before Kevin's brother arrived on the cobbles, he was famously married to Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) and they had daughters Rosie (Helen Flanagan) and Sophie (Brooke Vincent) together. They initially split up when Kevin had an an affair with Natalie Barnes (Denise Welch) but they remarried in 2002. Their marriage survived numerous infidelities on both sides, but ultimately crumbled when Kevin fathered Jack with Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) before she died in the 2010 tram crash as part of the programme's 50th anniversary. Carl is the son of Kevin's dad Bill Webster (Peter Armitage) and his second wife Elaine (Judy Gridley) and spent most of his life in Germany with his parents until he arrived on the Manchester backstreet earlier this year. In real life, Jonathan spent 10 years in LA and working alongside big-name stars including Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, but the 38-year-old actor ranks landing a part in Corrie among his greatest achievements. He told The Mirror: "Being in Coronation Street is just as big a thrill as being in a Hollywood film or an American TV series. It's all the same, everyone's telling stories, whether it's a big $200m movie or a soap like Corrie. As a Lancashire lad born and raised, the dream was to be in Coronation Street – that was the ceiling, so it feels wonderfully surreal to now be acting with people like Kevin Webster that I watched religiously as a kid. My friends ask me, 'what you have been up to today?' and I reply 'I took Tracy Barlow for a drink in the Rovers Return!' It's just incredible to say these things."

What is wrong with Mary's hand in Emmerdale? Mystery bandage sparks concern
Emmerdale's Mary Goskirk appeared on screen on the ITV soap on Friday night with a bandage across her hand and wrist, sparking concern with characters about her injury Mary Goskirk on Emmerdale, played by actress Louise Jameson, sparked concern on Friday night after appearing onscreen for the first time in a while. As she appeared, it was noticeable that she had a bandage wrapped around her hand and lower arm. Mary kept holding her hand up and was fiddling with the bandage, not really able to use the hand while serving behind the bar of The Woolpack. It was while serving customer Jacob Gallagher that he got concerned for the character. The medical student asked Mary what had happened to her hand, and how she had injured herself. Mary explained that she'd fallen down the last couple of steps of the staircase at home, no doubt hitting or landing on the arm. She didn't say specially what the injury was or if it was broken or sprained. What she did say though was that she was fine after the fall, and would need a few weeks of rest before she could get the bandages off. Jacob appeared alarmed though, offering to take a look at the injury. READ MORE: Emmerdale John Sugden clues tease villain will finally be exposed very soon Mary downplayed it all though and declined his offer saying it was not necessary. She said it was "alright" and just needed a few weeks to heal, before thanking him. She seemed keen to brush it under the carpet while it was clear Jacob was worried. It wasn't made clear if Mary went to hospital or a doctor to get it checked out, or if she bandaged it up herself. It's likely nothing to worry about and not part of a storyline, but fans will no doubt be questioning the random scene. Perhaps actress Louise sustained an injury away from the show and it was written into the episode. This often happens, and just recently on Coronation Street Kit Green actor Jacob Roberts had surgery on his leg and it was seemingly written into the show. There have been many other instances over the years where an injury or something else is written in. Not too long ago recently murdered character Nate Robinson was shown wearing a sling on his arm after an injury, while it was actually linked to a real-life injury or operation. Mary's scenes in the pub saw the moment Jacob Gallagher and Sarah Sugden's engagement was announced. Mary was quick to congratulate the couple, while Victoria Sugden was surprised by her ex and her niece's big news. Victoria admitted she was stunned given Sarah was recently with Kammy and they'd not been back together long, leading to Jacob saying it felt right as he knew he was with the right person. Inside Jack P. Shepherd's wedding: Coronation Street star 'will have no expense spared as he prepares to tie the knot with Hanni Treweek at Manchester Cathedral'
Jack P. Shepherd and his fiancée Hanni Treweek are set to marry this week and it will reportedly be a 'no expense spared' affair. The actor and his partner, who was a colleague of Jack's as a storyline writer and researcher on Coronation Street, will reportedly die the knot at Manchester Cathedral. According to The Sun, many of Jake's Corrie co-stars will be in attendance at the wedding on Saturday. 'Jack and Hanni are having their big white wedding at Manchester Cathedral on Saturday,' a source said. 'They have gone all out to make sure it's their dream day and there has been no expensed spared.' 'It's a very grand setting getting wed at the cathedral, and it will be packed with guests, including many of Jack's Corrie co-stars. 'They have hired top Manchester security service Capricorn to make sure everything goes smoothly on the day and after the ceremony, everyone will head to the five-star Lowry hotel for a lavish after party.' Jack, who won Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, previously revealed he took part in the show in order to pay for the wedding. It comes after Hanni got wedding ready during a girls' day out at The Ivy restaurant for her hen party earlier this month. Hanni looked stunning in a high-neck white lace mini-dress as she danced the night away to live music. It came after she enjoyed lunch and cocktails at The Ivy, where she posed for snaps with her pals and drank from a giant 'Bride' straw - with her hens all wearing Jack masks. Taking to her Instagram Story on Sunday, Hanni also revealed that she and Jack had been at a lesson for their first dance, as she shared a mirror selfie of the pair in a studio captioned: 'Hungover but dancing through as Mrs Shepherd to be.' She captioned her hen party snaps: 'The non hen party party, two weeks before the wedding. 25 years of a special friendship with these beautiful girlies, how lucky are we. 'I love you all so much, thank you for throwing me a non hen party party it was perfect. The next time I see you I'll be walking down the aisle.' Back in June, Hanni shared a sweet post about her husband-to-be as they celebrated a year since getting engaged. Hanni shared a sweet tribute to her husband as she counted down the days to the nuptials. Sharing a collection of throwback snaps from their trip to the Serengeti where he asked her to be his wife, Hanni wrote: '365 days of being your Fiancée. 51 days until we become Husband & Wife. 'Looking back at the most special memories with you, Tanzania will always hold a special place in my heart ⛺️❤️ Happy one year anniversary. What a magical year it's been ✨.' Resharing the post on his Instagram Story, Jack wrote: 'Happy one year anniversary @hannitreweek. I'm so lucky to call you my future wife.' At the time, the couple posed for loved-up snaps in their safari getups to announce the happy news on social media. Flashing her sparkling engagement ring, Hannah beamed for the camera before kissing her new fiancé. Captioning the snaps, she gushed: '05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!' Jack and Hanni have been dating since 2017, after meeting on the soap when she worked in the press office. She later became a storyliner on the ITV show, before quitting to work as a fashion influencer. Despite being colleagues, their romance actually began when Jack impressed Hanni at a mutual friend's wedding. Speaking to OK! Magazine in 2020, Jack recalled: 'Then our mutual friends got married and we were both guests at the wedding. 'We got chatting, I made Hanni laugh, we had a couple of drinks and we flirted. That was it.' The duo then later bumped into each other once again in a Sainsbury's, which led to an exchange of texts and a blossoming romance. He told The Daily Star: 'I texted her afterwards and said 'that was awkward' and she told me she thought she looked a mess and then we started texting from there. 'I actually thought she looked fit – I just saw the girl I fancy wearing Lycra! We quickly went on our first date and we just clicked.'
