‘Nice In Private But Mocks In Public': Sonam Chhabra On Sufi Motiwala's Double Standards
Actor-host Sonam Chhabria has called out digital creator Sufi Motiwala for his 'two-faced behaviour," further escalating their ongoing feud. Days after her initial post, Sonam recently shared a second Instagram story (now-deleted) criticising Sufi. In her initial post, she called out the creator for mocking her Cannes look.
In her latest Instagram story, Sonam shared a screenshot of a past chat with Sufi, pointing out a pattern of private politeness and public mockery. 'He DMs friends to give explanations, is all nice in private, but will mock you in public," she wrote. Sonam further mentioned that she had previously ignored it when Sufi made fun of her role in a web series.
The rift between the two started when Sufi mocked Sonam's Cannes appearance, where she wore a white cape with the names and dates of major Indian tragedies printed on it: 2008 – Mumbai, 2016 – Uri, 2019 – Pulwama, and 2025 – Pahalgam. Sonam expressed disappointment that Sufi didn't reach out to her privately about his issues with her outfit.
She earlier slammed him for mocking her Cannes Film Festival look in a viral video. Known for his commentary and reaction videos, Sufi referred to her simply as 'that girl." Sharing a screenshot of their chat, she wrote, ''Love you' in DMs, but in his videos he doesn't know my name, as fake as it gets."
'Remember me? I'm sure you do, as you gained a million views because of me in a day with the trash videos on my Cannes look. Was waiting for you to get out of the show-not that you were going to win anyway-but it was very uncool of you to troll me for my Cannes attire the way you did. I understand the frustration of never making it to international events. You could've called me or dropped a text rather than making it dirty like you did," her text read.
Sufi Motiwala has yet to reply publicly to the criticism.
On the work front, Sufi, 21, was recently seen in The Traitors, the Karan Johar-hosted reality show. Sonam is known for her roles as a live host, actor, lifestyle content creator, and motivational speaker.

He was 83. PM Modi remembered the actor for his 'riveting' performances and social service throughout his over four-decade-long career. While paying tribute to the late Telugu actor, PM Modi wrote on X, ' Anguished by the passing of Shri Kota Srinivas Rao Garu. He will be remembered for his cinematic brilliance and versatility. He enthralled audiences across generations with his riveting performances. He was also at the forefront of social service and worked towards empowering the poor and downtrodden. Condolences to his family and countless admirers. Om Shanti.' Earlier, Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu expressed deep grief and extended heartfelt condolences to the family of veteran Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao after the actor's demise. In an official statement, the Governor described the demise as an 'irreparable loss to the Telugu film industry.' Expressing his shock and sorrow, Governor Reddy said, 'The demise of the renowned actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, who won the affection of cinema audiences with his versatile roles, is deeply saddening. His artistic contributions to the fields of cinema and theatre over nearly four decades, and the roles he portrayed, will remain unforgettable.'
