Ingredients: two heads of romaine lettuce, two Roma tomatoes, an English cucumber, ½ cup of kalamata olives, 7 ounces of Trader Joe's tabbouleh, ½ cup of Trader Joe's Goddess dressing, and 12 frozen Trader Joe's falafel
Main-event salads are one of my favorite ways to feed my mixed-diet family.
This easy Greek-inspired version starts with a bag of frozen Trader Joe's falafel. While they're baking, I chop the romaine lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Then, I add them to a large serving bowl.
Next, I stir in Trader Joe's prepared tabbouleh — an easy addition that adds texture and more Mediterranean flavor.
Once the falafel is cooked, I quarter each one and toss them into the bowl, along with a drizzle of Trader Joe's Goddess dressing.
When my kids need a little extra motivation to eat their greens, I serve the salad with pita halves so they can turn it into fun, customizable pita pockets.
Skillet lasagna makes for an easy weeknight meal
Ingredients: a tablespoon of olive oil, half of an onion, 24 ounces of Trader Joe's marinara sauce, two packages of Trader Joe's vegan ravioli, 2 tablespoons of chopped basil, 6 ounces of vegan Boursin cheese, and a cup of vegan mozzarella shreds
With all the flavors of homemade lasagna, this version requires virtually no prep and is on the table in under 30 minutes.
I start by sautéing the onion and garlic until fragrant. Then, I stir in Trader Joe's marinara sauce and let it simmer.
Next, I add two packages of ravioli — Trader Joe's vegan spinach and cashew is my go-to — and cook them for about five minutes.
After removing the skillet from the heat, I add dollops of vegan Boursin cheese and sprinkle on shredded dairy-free mozzarella. A quick broil melts everything to perfection. I finish the meal with fresh chopped basil.
This meal is cozy, comforting, and easy to pull off on a busy weeknight.
You don't need to be a seasoned chef to serve up this ramen recipe
Ingredients: 2 quarts of Trader Joe's ginger miso broth, a tablespoon of toasted sesame oil, 14 ounces of Trader Joe's organic baked teriyaki tofu, four packages of Trader Joe's miso ramen, 2 cups of chopped napa cabbage, four heads of baby bok choy, and a cup of shiitake mushrooms
Using a few of my favorite Trader Joe's ingredients, I can easily make a hearty, flavorful bowl of miso ramen.
I start by bringing the ginger miso broth to a boil in a large stockpot.
While it heats, I cube and sauté organic baked teriyaki tofu. Once the broth is ready, I add the noodles and the seasoning from a Trader Joe's miso ramen cup.
To finish, I stir in chopped bok choy, sliced shiitake mushrooms, and the cooked tofu.
In just 20 minutes and with only a few ingredients, this plant-based ramen delivers great comfort and flavor.
These easy meatball subs are a family favorite
Ingredients: 28 ounces of San Marzano tomatoes, a tablespoon of Italian seasoning, 12 frozen vegan meatballs, 4 ounces of vegan mozzarella shreds, a tablespoon of garlic olive oil, ¼ cup of basil leaves, and four Trader Joe's sandwich rolls
This meal is almost embarrassingly simple to make, but it's one my kids request on repeat.
I start by baking the meatballs — meatless for me and beef for the rest of the family. Trader Joe's has both types in the freezer section.
Once they're cooked, I slice open sandwich rolls, spread on the marinara, and tuck in the meatballs. I add more marinara on top, sprinkle some shredded cheese, and pop them under the broiler until the cheese melts.
Dinner doesn't get easier than this family-favorite meal.
This pizza/salad mashup is my favorite dinner shortcut
Ingredients: a package of Trader Joe's pizza crust, a tablespoon of garlic olive oil, four garlic cloves, ½ cup of vegan mozzarella shreds, and a bag of Trader Joe's lemony arugula basil salad kit
Trader Joe's has a great lineup of salads that pair perfectly with pizza, but I like to skip the side dish and serve my salad right on top.
Trader Joe's precooked pizza crust makes this recipe easy. I start by brushing it with garlic olive oil and layering on fresh garlic slices. Then, I sprinkle it with dairy-free mozzarella and bake for five minutes.
While that's in the oven, I toss together the ingredients from my favorite lemony arugula basil salad kit. Once the crust is golden, I spoon the salad on top.
It's a quick, satisfying way to level up pizza night with almost no extra effort.

Sisters of St. Joseph lauded for ESL program in La Grange Park
A century and a quarter after arriving in the Chicago area with the intent to expand educational offerings, the La Grange Park based Sisters of St. Joseph recently had an opportunity to look back on a job well done. Actually, there were lots of jobs in those 125 years, including founding Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park. But the group was congratulated June 10 on its English as a Second Language program by Plymouth Place Senior Living, a retirement complex in La Grange Park, which presented the Sisters with its Monarch Award. Sr. Carol Crepeau, who began the teaching program 47 years ago with Sr. Mary Beth McDermott, said their involvement with the Teaching English to Advance Change program was coming to an end as Morton College and DuPage Literacy will be taking it over. That, she said, 'is very good for all of us.' 'My position now is to watch and make sure that what we dreamed continues to happen,' she said. Crepeau said the program started in 1978 as the 'School on Wheels,' after the sisters bought a bus from the Arlington Heights Public Library. Before long, the bus had become too small for the program. 'We had too many teachers, so what we did then is we began to go and work in various libraries and Catholic schools,' she said. 'I am so proud and happy and delighted, and the thing that is so wonderful is that now we have this partnership with Plymouth Place. … When you create something that is good for people, not only for people that want to learn English, but those who want to teach it — when it's good and it's mutual, it lasts.' More than 50 people crowded into Plymouth Place's 30 North restaurant for the celebration. Paddy Homan, Plymouth Place vice president of philanthropy and community affairs, said the ESL program at Plymouth Place was founded by the Sisters along with 15 residents who wanted to be able to communicate with staff members. 'We just want to thank them,' Homan said. 'They stepped in here and saw a need through our residents. And our job here is to support our residents to reimagine what our mission is all about.' Janet Matheny, a resident at Plymouth Place and retired teacher, was instrumental in bringing the ESL program to Plymouth Place. 'One of our residents said to me 'I have trouble communicating with the housekeeper because she doesn't speak English well,' she said. 'So what can we do about it?' Matheny called a friend who put her in touch with the Sisters of St. Joseph. 'From that point on, Teach came in and trained our residents to be tutors,' she said. 'It's an organization that is funded through grants. When COVID hit, they spaced us six feet apart, we wore our masks and in the Fall of '21 we started tutoring our employees who wanted to improve their English skills.' Many of the Plymouth Place staff that were in the Teach program were in attendance at the ceremony, including the first graduate of the school, Carlos Felix, who along with Jan Matheny presented the Monarch Award to Sr. Kathy Brazda of the Sisters of St. Joseph. The Sisters of St. Joseph were originally based in New York state, had set up several schools there, and had come to the La Grange area with the intention of doing the same here. But another group had already filled that role, so the Sisters were invited to join the St. Francis Xavier Parish in La Grange. After noticing that Lyons Township High School had been doing an excellent job educating young men, the Sisters turned their attention to the young women of the area and in 1899 established Nazareth Academy.

Definition of Mimbar in Mosque
Mimbar in the mosque plays a very important role within the Islamic architecture and religious practice. The word mimbar is a variation of the word (na-ba-ra) in Arabic which translates into English as to elevate or to proclaim and therefore the mimbar can be defined as a raised platform or pulpit where the khateeb (the person who delivers the sermon) preaches to the congregation. The mimbar is conventionally positioned on the right side of mihrab (the niche that shows the direction to the Kaaba in Mecca), thus being the symbol of knowledge, leadership, and communication, in the Muslim community. It is mostly employed in the course of the Friday sermon (khutbah), though it could be utilized during Eid prayers or any other major religious speech. Umrah Package From Dubai For Family The mimbar comes with the origins of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In the first times, the Prophet used to preach standing and leaning on a date palm trunk. This was replaced later on with a simple 3-step wooden platform where he used to talk and sit and all stages which followed mimbar were modeled after this structure. It was such a simple building that highlighted the fact that the Prophet was also a humble person and offering sermons with a clear and palpable presence was the utmost necessity. With the spread of Islamic government, the mimbar also became much more complex as its main purposes remained unchanged guiding and educating the Muslim population. The main purpose of the mimbar is preaching of the khutbah which is a crucial part of the Jumu indications (Friday) prayer. Khutbah is not just another speech, rather; it is a religious duty which supersedes the two rakath prayers of the noon of Friday prayer. The khateeb has some messages during the khutbah that contain the ethical and religious instructions and remind of the value of piety and good behavior. This medium will actually send the message to all the worshippers not only physically, but spiritually as well keen on the point of mimbar as a vehicle of individual mind and communal transformation. Umrah Package By Bus For Family The mimbar is architecturally different in different cultures and usually is a staircaseway to an elevated platform of small size and has a canopy or baldachin above. Other mimbars are carved out of a piece of wood, marble or stone in an exquisite manner demonstrating the artistic and cultural aspects of the place where one was constructed. However, in spite of these variations in shape, the symbolic meaning of the mimbar has always remained the same; it has been the seat of moral authority and a pulpit, where by means of the truths of Islam, the truth is preached to the people. Mimbar is not a building in itself but a symbol of moral commitment of the orator. The khateeb that goes up the pulpit is supposed to preach with sincerity, wisdom and integrity just like the themes of Islam. Any use of the platform to achieve any political benefits, any misinformation or distraction is regarded as a betrayal of its holy mission. The mimbar was applied by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to integrate the Muslim ummah, establish justice, and have the society and spiritual reform.
