Following the stake sale, shares of Nykaa declined by 4 per cent to ₹203.50 apiece on the BSE, and by 3.82 per cent to ₹203.50 per piece on the NSE.
Harindarpal Singh is a commodities billionaire and Chairman and CEO of Hong Kong-based Caravel Group. Banga was an early investor in Nykaa, which went public in 2021.
As per the deal, up to 6 crore equity shares of FSN were sold at a final price of ₹202.25 per share. This represents a discount of about 4.4 per cent to FSN's closing price of ₹211.59 on NSE on Wednesday, as per the term sheet accessed by PTI.
Goldman Sachs (India) Securities and J P Morgan India were the brokers for the deal.
The transaction comprises a sale of approximately 6 crore shares amounting to around 2.1 per cent stake in FSN.
At the final price, the total deal size is estimated at ₹1,213.5 crore ($141.9 million), which is executed in one or more bulk deals on the BSE and NSE. The offer is entirely secondary in nature.
After the latest transaction, Harindarpal's holding in Nykaa has come down to 2.87 per cent from 4.97 per cent.
Last month, FSN said it has set a break-even target of FY26 for its cash-burning fashion arm on account of marketing efficiencies, overhead leverage, and own-brand growth.
Nykaa is also making a foray into the quick-commerce arena with "Nykaa Now", which offers delivery time of 30 to 120 minutes across seven major cities. The service is backed by a network of beauty warehouses, physical retail stores and rapid stores across the country.
The fashion vertical, which generated about ₹3,800 crore in GMV (Gross Merchandise Value), is currently a drag on consolidated profitability, posting a Ebitda margin of (-) 8.3 per cent for FY25.
In May, Nykaa reported over threefold increase in consolidated net profit to ₹20.28 crore for the March quarter.
The fashion and beauty retailer had logged a profit (attributable to equity shareholders of the parent) of ₹6.93 crore in the year-ago period, according to a regulatory filing.
Revenue from operations was 23.6 per cent higher at ₹2,061.76 crore during the quarter, against ₹1,667.98 crore a year earlier.
However, seen sequentially, profit and revenue fell 22.3 per cent and 9 per cent, respectively.
In 2024-25, profit more than doubled to ₹66.08 crore, from ₹32.26 crore in the previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations stood at ₹7,949.82 crore, 24.4 per cent higher than ₹6,385.62 crore in FY24.
In FY25, Nykaa saw its cumulative customer base grow 28 per cent year-on-year to over 42 million.
In August last year, Harindarpal Singh Banga divested over 4 crore shares, or 1.43 per cent stake, in Nykaa for ₹851.50 crore.

The BSE Sensex was up 0.06 per cent at 81,512 at 10:20 AM. In the past one month, the stock of pharmaceutical company has outperformed the market by soaring 27 per cent, as compared to 2.7 per cent decline in the BSE Sensex. It has zoomed 128 per cent from its 52-week low of ₹390.30 on August 8, 2024. Laurus Labs - Q1FY26 performance, outlook Laurus delivered a solid performance in Q1, in line with market expectations. The management said they are pleased to see sustained growth momentum fueled by increasing uptake in the contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) deliveries and healthy business fundamentals. The company has achieved revenues of ₹1,570 crore, representing 31 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of ₹389 crore, representing 127 per cent growth. The EBITDA margins improved substantially to 24.8 per cent, from 14.3 per cent in Q1FY25, supported by continuing operating leverage. Gross margins stood strong at 59.4 per cent due to favorable CDMO mix and ongoing process improvement initiatives. Profit after tax stood ₹161.1 crore, driven by a favorable product mix and strong operational performance. Laurus has made a healthy progress to start the year with increasing contributions from the CDMO business and continued advancement of pipeline projects, supported by Generic Formulation (FDF). The management said the company is moving ahead with strong focus on commercial execution realizing the full potential from promising pipeline opportunities, business development and rapidly enhancing scale and technology capabilities. ALSO READ | Brokerages firm see more upside in stock price of Laurus The CDMO growth was driven by several mid-to-late stage NCE deliveries and steady increase in sales from new manufacturing assets. Out of ₹3,200 core of capex that the company has incurred during FY22-25, almost ~75 per cent was earmarked towards active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) / CDMO. The company is now getting the benefit of the same as the CDMO quarterly run rate has gone up from ₹220-250 crore to ₹450-500 crore in two years. The CDMO contribution has also gone up from ~16 per cent to 33 per cent which has led to a significant margin expansion. ICICI Securities said they continue to monitor progress on these driving factors which in a way are expected to change the business mix in favour of these segments in lieu of anti-retroviral (ARV). Analysts at Choice Equity Broking believe Laurus is evolving from a traditional Generics player to a CDMO (Synthesis)–led model, with the segment targeted to reach ~50 per cent of revenues in the long term. Given the higher-margin profile of CDMO and operating leverage as new manufacturing assets ramp and current underutilization narrows, the brokerage firm expects sustained margin expansion. Analysts maintain 'buy' rating on the stock with revised target price of ₹1,025 against previous target price of ₹750. Motilal Oswal Financial Services raise earnings estimates by 16 per cent/7 per cent for FY26/FY27, factoring in strong tailwinds in CDMO segment led by 110+ active pipeline projects/ramp-up from new manufacturing facilities, additional contracts in generic FDF segment, and margin expansion from scale. Considering a 63 per cent earnings compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) over FY25-27, the brokerage firm value Laurus at 56x 12M forward earnings to arrive at a target price of ₹970. Reiterate BUY.

Shriram Finance Q1 results Shriram Finance's standalone net interest income for the first quarter ended June 30, 2025, rose 12.55 per cent to ₹6,026.43 crore compared to ₹5,354.47 crore in the year-ago period. The company's profit after tax (PAT) increased by 8.84 per cent to ₹2,155.73 crore as against ₹1,980.59 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. It reported earnings per share of ₹11.46, up 8.73 per cent from ₹10.54 in Q1FY25. Shriram Finance Q1 results analysis: JM Financial According to analysts at JM Financial, Shriram Finance's well-diversified and predominantly secured product portfolio continues to deliver strong growth and profitability post-merger. However, citing the near-term pressure on net interest margins NIMs, the brokerage revised its FY26 NIM estimate downward by 34 basis points (bps), leading to a 3 per cent to 5 per cent cut in EPS estimates for FY26–28E. "We now build in average RoA/RoE of 3 per cent/16 per cent over FY26–27E and maintain our 'Buy' rating with a revised target price of ₹730, valuing the stock at 1.9x FY27E BVPS," the brokerage said. ICICI Securities According to ICICI Securities, the company's core operating performance in the June 2025 quarter remained strong with NII growth at 4 per cent Q-o-Q/10 per cent Y-o-Y and a sequential easing in credit cost to 1.9 per cent compared to 2.4 per cent Q-o-Q. "Amid a challenging operating environment, especially in certain segments such as MSME, entry-level PV and used CV, credit cost moderation in Q1FY26 reflects its business resiliency and risk management," the brokerage said in a note. It further highlighted management commentary that an uptick in early buckets (Stage-2 assets) is transitory (cashflow mismatch at the borrower level is due to seasonality and not stress); hence, it expects asset quality (mainly Stage-3 assets) to remain strong in FY26. ICICI Securities has maintained a 'Hold' on Shriram Finance with an unchanged target of ₹640.

Whirlpool of India shares slip 2% post Q1 results; Should investors hold?
Shares of Whirlpool of India declined on Monday after the company reported a drop in revenue for the first quarter of the current financial year (Q1FY26). Further, analysts remain cautious due to the promoters' proposed stake sale and the lack of clarity on future leadership. The household appliances maker's stock fell as much as 2.32 per cent during the day to ₹1,366.6 per share, the biggest intraday fall since July 8 this year. The stock pared losses to trade 1.4 per cent lower at ₹1,379 apiece, compared to a 0.14 per cent decline in Nifty 50 as of 9:55 AM. Whirlpool of India Q1 results The company reported a marginal increase in its consolidated net profit to ₹146.08 crore for the June 2025 quarter. It had posted a net profit of ₹145.25 crore during the April-June quarter of the previous fiscal. US-based Whirlpool Corporation's India unit's revenue from operations slipped 2.58 per cent to ₹2,432.32 crore during the quarter under review. It was ₹2,496.86 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. "Despite a very significant decline in industry of air conditioners and refrigerators in Q1 2025-26 versus a year ago due to a poor summer and onset of early monsoon that affected all players, Whirlpool was able to actually grow profits by keeping its volume decline minimal via continuing to gain market shares in the refrigerator and washer category in April-May," the company said in its earning statement. Analysts on Whirlpool of India Q1 Centrum Broking expects the company to post a 13 per cent sales CAGR and a 170 basis points improvement in Ebitda margin over FY25-28, leading to a 25 per cent CAGR in profit after tax. Strong balance sheet, negative net working capital, and healthy cash flows are key strengths, Centrum noted. Notable achievements over the past six quarters include strong execution, market share gains, and an improving margin profile. However, the parent entity's proposed stake reduction from 51 per cent to 20 per cent is likely to remain a near-term overhang, it said, maintaining a 'Add' rating with a target of ₹1,525 for the stock. Whirlpool reported revenue short of Nuvama's estimates, due to a weak summer season and early monsoon, analysts said. While business and financial performance remain strong, the parent company's impending stake reduction and the resulting lack of visibility on new ownership remain key overhangs, Nuvama said. Nuvama has raised its FY26-28 EPS estimates by 1-3 per cent and expects revenue, Ebitda, and PAT to grow at compound annual rates of 8-13 per cent and 16 per cent, respectively. The brokerage revised the target price to ₹1,380 (earlier ₹1,340) and the rating was retained at 'Hold'.
