Oasis fans flock to 'Gallaghairs' pop-up barber shop to get iconic mod haircut
Oasis enthusiasts had the chance to snag the Gallagher swagger at a pop-up barber shop – dubbed 'Gallaghairs' – as they flocked to the band's eagerly awaited Manchester performances. Situated in the Manchester Piccadilly Premier Inn, the temporary salon offered fans the opportunity to sport the iconic mod haircut of the Gallagher brothers before making their way to Heaton Park for the concert.
A skilled barber was on hand to provide the feathered and shaggy style, complete with extended sideburns and a neat fringe. Before-and-after snaps captured one chuffed music fan stepping back into the 90s, at least in terms of hairstyle, posing next to a Liam doppelgänger.
Tracey Bishop, Premier Inn regional manager for Greater Manchester, which is hosting thousands of Oasis followers at its hotels across the country this summer, commented: "From music tours to football tournaments, events always create a massive buzz in our hotels. Spirits are sky high in Manchester, and we are excited to be a part of it.
"The team are loving welcoming Oasis fans – the bucket hats are a bit of a giveaway at check-in. When you think of Oasis, first you think of the massive tunes, but from hats to parkas second on the list is always going to be their incredible style.
"The hair is as much a part of that as anything, so while we can't make people rock 'n' roll stars – we can at least make them look like one and have a comfy bed waiting at the end of the gig."
Levon Gill, the barber, commented: "It was so much fun giving these fans such an iconic look. The mod style is so synonymous with Manchester, it's great to see we are still keeping it alive.
"In our shop we've seen a real resurgence of Oasis style haircuts. There have been a lot of tourists come in to get one, but they wait until they get to Manchester to make sure to get the real deal."
The Gallagher brothers rose to prominence in the mid-1990s following two successful Oasis albums, Definitely Maybe in 1994 and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? in 1995.
With both Liam and Noel sharing vocal duties, the contentious pair were as well-known for their off-stage antics as their music. Thanks to their working-class attitude, the duo became immediate style icons, with shaggy hair and parkas defining the look of the era.
The band experienced disputes and breakups, finally calling it quits in 2009 after a heated argument between the two brothers following a Paris gig.
In 2024, they announced a reunion tour that sold out in minutes, with fans from around the world scrambling for tickets.
Tracey added: "Oasis aren't just a band - they're part of people's life stories. Their music and style defined a generation, sound tracked major moments and gave fans a voice when they needed it most.
"These songs have always had the power to unite strangers, whether at a gig, a festival or singing in the street after a night out.
"Bringing people together for something this iconic is electric, and we are so proud to be playing our part in it – it's more than a concert, it's a cultural moment that will never be forgotten."

His house was being renovated and he moved to the Cotswolds,' he explained. 'I was only there for three months, just for the summer, and when I left, he moved back in. I was actually gutted." Although he did not meet Gallagher during that time, Tommy said he has since had an indirect connection to the famous family. He revealed Noel Gallagher's daughter, Anais, had commented on one of his TikTok posts. 'I was buzzing,' he said. 'I then went on Instagram and saw she follows me, so I followed her back. She sent a video of Noel and Liam on stage and I messaged her like, 'Counting down the days.'' Tommy said the exchange ended there, but he has plans to see Liam Gallagher perform later this year. The makeup artist, 21, faced backlash when a message she had sent to a friend before entering the ITV2 reality show as a Bombshell was leaked. In the 37-second recording, fans heard her plan to couple up with Tommy - who at that point had just finished dating Megan Forte Clarke - as a supposedly guaranteed way to make it to the final, and was grilled by host Maya Jama on the incident during an appearance on Sunday's Aftersun. She explained: "So obviously, like, we probably have all done it, like, sent voice notes to friends and obviously, I really did trust that friend. "So, with the Tommy situation, I was just saying that he's a very nice boy and, like, that's why I wanted to get to know him." Insisting that she did not intend for the message to come across as a game plan to win, she said: "I did say 'Til the end', but it weren't like, the final, obviously, I was meaning, like, I wanted to be with him in the future. Someone with really good morals and stuff like that. The Liverpudlian also used her airtime to insist that Tommy is a boy her father approved of, and profusely apologised to Megan, whom she had labelled a "f***king little slapper" but insisted she is not normally the type of person who would say that. She added: "And, also, before going on the show, my dad did say to me, like, 'He's the kind of boy I'd like you to bring home because he's just very respectful. And then, obviously, talking about Meghan as well, I should never have commented on someone who I've never met before. So I do really apologise about that, I'm actually not that type of girl. " Lucy claimed that the whole scandal has "been blown out of proportion" and that she didn't expect everyone to hear the voice note in the first place.
