SandboxAQ launches AQtive Guard to Secure AI Agents

SandboxAQ has announced the general availability of AQtive Guard, a platform designed to manage and secure Non-Human Identities (NHIs) and other cryptographic assets used by AI agents – both friendly and malevolent – that are surging across enterprise environments.
As billions of AI agents flood enterprise ecosystems, organisations are facing an unprecedented surge of intelligent, adaptive cyber threats capable of continuously probing networks, evading detection, and rapidly exploiting vulnerabilities. This escalating threat demands proactive, AI-driven cryptographic defences to counteract attacks that evolve faster than traditional security measures can respond.
AQtive Guard's Discover module enables organisations to maintain an accurate inventory and control over both NHIs and cryptographic assets such as keys, certificates, algorithms, and libraries, and is crucial for compliance and meeting regulatory mandates. AQtive Guard's Protect orchestrates automated remediation workflows and enforces protection policies such as credential rotation or certificate renewal.
Leveraging its Large Quantitative Models (LQMs), AQtive Guard's Discover and Protect modules provide organisations with unprecedented visibility, control and remediation, addressing the escalating challenges of machine-to-machine communication security, compliance pressures, and the transition to the new NIST security standards.
As part of the launch, SandboxAQ also announced two key capabilities: Robust integration with the CrowdStrike Falcon cybersecurity platform, representing SandboxAQ's deepest technical integration to date. AQtive Guard empowers joint customers with full visibility into their non-human identity and cryptographic inventories and vulnerabilities by pulling data directly from CrowdStrike endpoints. One-click ingestion translates to value from the first hour of use. AQtive Guard can then remediate the vulnerabilities as they are identified. Interoperability with Palo Alto Networks, a trusted name in enterprise security solutions. SandboxAQ is ingesting Palo Alto Networks' firewall logs directly into AQtive Guard, resulting in key visibility improvements for network security posture, vulnerability detection, and security compliance.

SpaceX's Starlink suffered one of its biggest international outages on Thursday when an internal software failure knocked tens of thousands of users offline, a rare disruption for Elon Musk's powerful satellite internet system. Users in the U.S. and Europe began experiencing the outage at around 3 p.m. EDT (1900 GMT), according to Downdetector, a crowdsourced outage tracker that said as many as 61,000 user reports to the site were made. Starlink, which has more than 6 million users across roughly 140 countries and territories, later acknowledged the outage on its X account and said "we are actively implementing a solution." Starlink service mostly resumed after 2.5 hours, Michael Nicolls, Starlink vice president of Starlink Engineering, wrote on X. "The outage was due to failure of key internal software services that operate the core network," Nicolls said, apologizing for the disruption and vowing to find its root cause. Musk had also apologized: "Sorry for the outage. SpaceX will remedy root cause to ensure it doesn't happen again," the SpaceX CEO wrote on X. The outage was a rare hiccup for SpaceX's most commercially sensitive business that had experts speculating whether the service, known for its resilience and rapid growth, was beset by a glitch, a botched software update or even a cyberattack. Doug Madory, an expert at the internet analysis firm Kentik, said the outage was global and that such a sweeping interruption was unusual. "This is likely the longest outage ever for Starlink, at least while it became a major service provider," Madory said. As Starlink gained more users, SpaceX has focused heavily in recent months on updating its network to accommodate demands for higher speed and bandwidth. The company in a partnership with T-Mobile is also expanding the constellation with larger, more powerful satellites to offer direct-to-cell text messaging services, a line of business in which mobile phone users can send emergency text messages through the network in rural areas. SpaceX has launched more than 8,000 Starlink satellites since 2020, building a uniquely distributed network in low-Earth orbit that has attracted intense demand from militaries, transportation industries and consumers in rural areas with poor access to traditional, fiber-based internet. "I'd speculate this is a bad software update, not entirely dissimilar to the CrowdStrike mess with Windows last year, or a cyberattack," said Gregory Falco, director of a space and cybersecurity laboratory at Cornell University. An update to CrowdStrike's widely used cybersecurity software led to worldwide flight cancellations and impacted industries around the globe in July last year. The outage disrupted internet services, affecting 8.5 million Microsoft Windows devices. It was unclear whether Thursday's outage affected SpaceX's other satellite-based services that rely on the Starlink network. Starshield, the company's military satellite business unit, has billions of dollars' worth of contracts with the Pentagon and U.S. intelligence agencies. Bahrain - The value of Bahrain's non-oil imports increased by 7 per cent reaching BD498 million in May 2025 in comparison with BD466m for the same month in 2024, according to the Information & eGovernment Authority's (iGA) May 2025 Foreign Trade report, which encompasses data on trade balance, imports, national origin exports and re-exports. The top 10 countries' imports recorded 71pc of the total value of imports. China ranked first for imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD75m (15pc), followed by The UAE with BD48m (10pc) and Australia with BD43m (9pc). Parts for aircraft engines recorded as the top product imported to Bahrain with a total value of BD42m (8.4pc), followed by other aluminum oxide with BD41m (8.2pc) and four-wheel drive being the third with BD21m (4pc). The total value of non-oil exports (national origin) increased by 2pc to reach BD322m during May 2025, compared to BD316m for same month in 2024. The top 10 countries in exports (national origin) accounted for 71pc of the exports (national origin) value. Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries for non-oil exports (national origin) with BD67m (21pc). The US was second with BD33m (10pc) and the UAE was third with BD27m (8pc). Unwrought aluminium alloys recorded as the top products exported in May 2025 with BD94m (29pc), followed by agglomerated iron ores and concentrated alloys with a value of BD42m (13pc) and aluminium wire not alloyed with BD17m (5pc). The total value of non-oil re-exports increased by 18pc to reach BD60m during May 2025, compared to BD51m for same month in 2024. The top 10 countries in re-exports accounted for 85pc of the re-exported value. The UAE ranked first with BD24m (40pc) followed by Saudi Arabia with BD16m (27pc) and Singapore with BD3m (5pc). Smartphone was the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD6.4m (10.7pc), followed by four-wheel drive with BD6.3m (10.5pc), and private cars with BD5m (8pc). Arabian Post Staff -Dubai Global oil consumption has shifted, with demand now peaking in the third quarter instead of the traditional fourth, signalling a structural change reshaping markets during the summer months. Analysts point to stronger consumption from Asia—particularly China and India—alongside diminished heating fuel use in advanced economies as key drivers behind this trend, which carries significant implications for trading patterns, strategic reserves and pricing dynamics. Industry data show that consumption of heating oil and kerosene in wealthy nations has declined steadily. In the US, fewer households rely on refined petroleum for heating—dropping from 17 % in 1990 to just 9 % today—while Europe has seen even steeper falls. Conversely, jet fuel use during Northern Hemisphere summers has grown, especially as holiday travel resumes. This has pushed demand peaks into July–September, reversing a long-standing seasonal rhythm. Fuel consumption patterns in emerging economies present a stark contrast. Many countries, including those closer to the equator, rely on oil year-round for industrial power, electricity generation, and water desalination. Saudi Arabia, for instance, burned over 800,000 barrels per day of crude in just one summer to power air conditioning—a volume comparable to Belgium's entire daily petroleum demand. ADVERTISEMENT Climate change compounds the shift. Milder winters reduce heating demand, while hotter summers elevate energy needs for cooling and travel. In 2025 so far, global oil consumption in the third quarter is projected to exceed fourth-quarter levels by approximately 500,000 barrels per day—the fifth recorded year this has happened since 1991. This transformation carries consequences for market tightness and pricing. Although OPEC+ and rising non‑OPEC output have attempted to balance supply, physical markets appear increasingly tight during summer months. In mid-July, Brent crude hovered in the mid‑US$60s, reflecting supply constraints despite softening from spring lows. Speculative traders, noting robust seasonal demand, have also increased their net long positions in Brent and gasoil contracts. Asia's role has been pivotal. China ramped refinery runs to over 80 % of capacity in June—the highest levels in five years—as stockpiling alongside consumption drove strong throughput. Meanwhile, Asia's crude imports rose by around 510,000 bpd in the first half of 2025, underscoring the region's impact. Despite cautious forecasts from the IEA and OPEC—projecting crude demand growth of 700,000 bpd and 1.29 million bpd respectively—actual refinery intake and imports suggest potential underestimation. India's fuel consumption trends provide further insights. June data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell show fuel demand was 20.31 million tonnes—down 4.7 % from May but up 1.9 % year-on-year—reflecting monsoon-related dips typical through August and September. Diesel usage, especially linked to industry and logistics, is a key part of India's expanding consumption profile. OPEC+ has responded to these dynamics. In August, the alliance approved production increases of roughly 548,000 bpd aiming to satisfy peak Q3 demand. Simultaneously, US shale output remains robust; American producers reported nearly 13.5 million bpd in April, although well completion rates have slowed, reflecting the dependency on prices. Nevertheless, the market outlook grows more uncertain as it heads into fourth quarter. The EIA forecasts OECD inventories will build to 62 days' worth of supply in the second half of 2025—rising further to 66 days by end-2026—signalling a potential surplus as summer demand wanes. EIA projections for 2026 also expect US production to decline, with WTI prices retreating toward US$53 per barrel. Pricing reflects this shift. Oil markets have shown summer tightness in 2025, but expectations for a Q4 surplus weigh on medium-term prices. The IEA forecasts refinery throughput will drop from a projected August peak of 85.4 million bpd to about 81.7 million bpd by October, implying weaker demand later in the year. The shift in seasonality thus becomes a critical market pivot. Traders, refiners and producers must recalibrate strategies around production schedules, storage cycles and investment decisions. Q3 now demands heightened vigilance—from physical balancing to hedging strategies—while Q4 may require reassessment of storage utilisation and pricing risk.
