Nine key 12MP projects approved
He said the approved projects include the construction of Sultanah Aminah Dua Hospital in Johor Bharu and work to widen highways.
He said this during today's winding-up debate session at the Johor State Legislative Assembly in Kota Iskandar.
However, he revealed that 222 projects worth RM10.8 billion, approved under the 11MP are still in the pre-implementation stage.
'The state government considers this a serious matter. We have the allocations, yet work has not commenced since 2016.
'These projects, which involve upgrades to hospitals, schools, roads, and more, have not been able to move forward. I raised this issue during the state development meeting,' he said.
He added that, with the Prime Minister's agreement, the state government will discuss the matter with relevant ministries and agencies to expedite the projects.

Home minister: Peaceful Assembly Act amendments will be tabled this month, to be consistent with Constitution, Federal Court decision
KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 — The Home Ministry (KDN) will table amendments to Section 11 of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 (Act 736) in the upcoming parliamentary sitting this month, said Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. In a statement, Saifuddin Nasution said the Madani Government remains committed to upholding democratic principles and the supremacy of the Constitution by protecting the people's right to peaceful assembly. He said that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, as the key driver of the Madani Government's reform agenda, takes the issue of freedom of assembly seriously, announcing the Cabinet decision to impose a moratorium on prosecutions under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 as an initial step towards comprehensive reform of laws related to the right to assemble. On the Federal Court's ruling that a provision under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 is unconstitutional, Saifuddin Nasution said the ministry acknowledges the decision and will scrutinise it for appropriate action. He said this includes considering proposed amendments to the affected legal provisions to ensure they are in line with the Federal Constitution and consistent with the country's highest court's decisions. 'The Madani Government will continue to ensure a balance between individual freedom and the need to maintain public order and security. It is a priority of the Madani Government to ensure that every right guaranteed by the Constitution is exercised in a peaceful, orderly and responsible manner,' he added. Earlier, the Federal Court's five-member bench ruled that a provision under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012, which penalised an organiser who failed to provide the police with a five-day prior notice before holding an assembly, is unconstitutional. Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, who chaired the panel, stated that it is inconsistent with Article 10(2)(b) read in conjunction with Article 8(1) of the Federal Constitution (equality before the law). — Bernama

PM: Government gives priority to projects that benefit the rakyat
ROME, July 2 — The Madani Government is willing to take hard and sometimes unpopular decisions to ensure development and projects that benefit the rakyat can be implemented, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Anwar, who is here on a three-day working visit, said despite criticism over government's move to implement certain policies such as subsidy rationalisation or tariff, they needed to be carried out for the benefit of the people. 'All governments, all prime ministers in the past talk about taking away subsidies from foreigners, but none took the right action,' he said at the Majlis Ramah Mesra Bersama Diaspora Malaysia here last night. The premier said various actions taken by the government, including subsidies and tax rationalisations were implemented to build more schools, universities and hospitals that will help the masses. During the dinner, Anwar also shared that various programmes and policies are being undertaken by his government to ensure the country remains competitive. 'To our diaspora in Italy, you are our ambassadors and our asset. You have a big role to play in bringing Malayia into the international platform. 'Therefore, I leave a message for you to continue to seize every opportunity and space to strengthen your knowledge, skills and networks in order to contribute back to the homeland, good governance,' he said. PM Anwar alerts embassy to assist Malaysian stranded in Italy due to pickpocket stealing passport
KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has requested the Malaysian Embassy in Italy to immediately assist a Malaysian citizen, Dalila Zaidi, who was stranded in Milan after her passport was stolen. He said the Foreign Ministry has also been alerted to ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve the matter. Anwar was responding to a post by Dalila on X, in which she appealed for help after losing her passport. 'Salam PMX @anwaribrahim, my name is Dalila Zaidi and I'm a Malaysian currently stranded in Milan after my passport was stolen in the afternoon yesterday, 30 June 2025 near Santa Sofia station...I truly appreciate your attention to this,' she wrote.
