TikTokers Dasha Vladimirovna, 21, and Karina Evgenyevna, 19, were filmed rapping in front of the burning facility.
They are captured in footage glorying in the Ukrainian strike which Putin's air defences failed to prevent.
The video was posted to a track Crimson Dawn by singer Endshpil, a Russian rapper.
Dasha and Karina were also with a man - but it was unclear if he had been hauled to the police as well.
A police "wanted" notice only specified the two women.
'During Internet monitoring, a publication was found showing two girls filming a video against the backdrop of a fire in Sochi,' a police statement said before the influencers were identified.
It added: "The police have initiated an investigation, measures are being taken to identify the girls, and their actions will be legally assessed."
Later it was confirmed the duo had been detained, and there were calls from pro-war outlets for them to issue a public apology over the stunt close to Sochi airport.
Kremlin moral guardian Yekaterina Mizulina, 40, head of Russia's Safe Internet League, said: 'Young people are filming content against the backdrop of drones flying into Sochi at night.
'I wonder what's wrong with the instinct for self-preservation?
Defiant Putin bombs key Kherson bridge as Ukraine strikes back with massive drone strike on Russia's biggest resort
'Don't they understand that this is simply dangerous?'
But the real reason for their arrest is the potential glamourising of a Ukrainian strike in Russia's largest resort.
Moscow takes an increasingly aggressive, extreme stance against social media stunts seen as highlighting Ukraine's successes in the war.
A Ukrainian outlet Pravda Gerashchenko mocked: 'Russian zoomers are happy about the burning oil depot in [Sochi] - a new location for selfies.
'Ukrainian defence forces will definitely try to create as many such locations as possible.'
The song 'conveys a search for direction, belonging and hope through music and the hip-hop community,' said one source.
'It reflects on life's struggles, yearning for freedom, and finding strength and identity through artistic expression.'
Russian forces last night bombed a key bridge used to transport military logistics in the Ukrainian frontline city of Kherson.

Footage shows a Russian airstrike destroying the key road crossing on the Dnipro River after dropping two guided bombs.
The attack damaged a bridge connecting the city to the Korabel neighbourhood.
A few homes and a high-rise residential building were also damaged, officials said.
A defiant Vladimir Putin has snubbed peace and is instead steadily increasing his overnight bombing raids - which could soon hit 1,000 a day.
Governor Oleksandr Prokudin urged residents of the Korabel district to evacuate, citing complications with logistics and infrastructure.
He wrote on Telegram: "As a result of the enemy airstrike, logistics have been complicated.
"Because of this, it will be difficult to deliver food and other things for the time being."
Kherson Oblast, which is just near the Russian-occupied Crimean region, is frequently targeted by the Russians.
Kyiv sought revenge by launching a massive drone attack targeting Russia's main resort city of Sochi, where Putin is said to be rebuilding one of his palaces.
More than 120 firefighters were trying to extinguish a blaze at an oil depot that was sparked by the drone attack, regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said.
A massive fuel tank with a capacity of 2,000 cubic metres was on fire, Russia's RIA news agency reported.
Some 30 huge explosions led to a massive inferno at the facility close to the main airport often used by the Russian dictator.

Lions squad take over Sydney bar and break into song as stunned fans watch on Andy Farrell's men were in the mood for celebrating despite losing the final Test to the Wallabies The Lions squad celebrated their series win with a sing-song (Image: Joe Hare/ TikTok: @ The British & Irish Lions celebrated their series win over Australia in style by taking over a hotel bar in Sydney and breaking into song as stunned fans watched on. Andy Farrell's squad became the first Lions tourists since 2013 to win their Test series, with victories over the Wallabies in Brisbane and Melbourne seeing them secure the trophy after also winning all of their other games on Australian soil. However, that run ended as they were denied a historic 3-0 whitewash, with Australia deservedly winning an eventful final Test in Sydney. The disappointment of defeat in the third Test seemingly didn't last for long, however, as the following day saw Farrell's men celebrate as they popped in to the popular Coogee Bay Hotel for a spot of lunch. According to fans who were also in the hotel bar on Sunday, the team stayed there in the afternoon and provided some entertainment as they broke out into a sing-song. Wales and Lions fan Joe Hare was in the bar at the same time as the players, with his videos of their singing already shared on TikTok by the likes of England star Marcus Smith. Meanwhile, he added that "the only strong than [the Lions'] scrum is their pub version of Wonderwall post-win," with his clips already viewed tens of thousands of times on TikTok. Content cannot be displayed without consent "They came in for lunch and stayed in the afternoon," Joe, who is from Cardiff but lives in New Zealand, told WalesOnline. "They were really great to the fans and a real energy. It was a pretty awesome experience and it's been a great trip." After losing in the final Test, Farrell admitted that it "might take one or two beers" for his players to understand what they had achieved on tour, as he described the experience as "the time of our lives". Content cannot be displayed without consent 'There's frustration because we wanted to win every game, but the best team won here,' the head coach said. 'It might take one or two beers, but they should be unbelievably proud of what they've achieved on this tour. 'It's been the time of our lives. I know it sounds a bit dramatic, but it's the truth. We got to create a special memory together. I'm unbelievably proud to be associated with this group. Article continues below 'This has been a long time in the planning - the best eight weeks of our lives," he added. "Lions tours are tough, and to do what we did last week and put the series in the bag, upon reflection after tonight, I'm sure we'll be super proud of the achievement.'

Holidaymakers 'baffled' as they accidentally rent ENTIRE wedding venue in beautiful destination for JUST £300
A pair of Australian holidaymakers found themselves in an extraordinary situation after checking into a lavish wedding venue instead of a hotel during a trip to Italy. Matt Hey, a content creator from Sydney known on TikTok as @ shared the mishap with his followers in a viral video that has since amassed over 8 million views. He and his partner had just arrived in Sorrento after touring through London, Rome, and Pisa when they moved on to what they believed was a high-end hotel. The video, which follows the couple's surreal check-in experience at Villa Antiche Mura Relais, is accompanied by a caption that reads: 'We accidentally booked an entire wedding venue thinking it was a regular hotel.' In the clip, Matt narrates their arrival through a long stone path lined with manicured gardens, trees and colourful flowers. He noted the 'nice and peaceful' atmosphere of the grounds, though he admitted he'd thought: 'I'm baffled. This is a bit weird. I've not seen anyone yet.' Things got stranger when they reached what Matt initially thought was a reception building, only to find a villa resembling someone's private home. After walking around the property, they were met with a cliffside terrace featuring white lanterns, linen-draped tables, and what appeared to be a wedding setup. As they continued exploring, they discovered an outdoor dance floor complete with a bar, white tables and ivory drapes across the ceiling. Not completely convinced at the time, Matt recalled: 'I'm all spaced out. I'm like, maybe this is a common area and there must be little villas.' He explained that their only check-in interaction involved a staff member taking a photo of their passports and handing over a single key - no front desk and no other guests. Inside, the villa was decked out with more formal tables, and after the staff casually asked the couple which one they'd like to use, that's when it clicked that it was a wedding venue. Matt hilariously concluded: 'We could have done something with this - but darling, I could have done with the Mercure! I didn't need all this!' In a caption below the video, Matt admitted: 'Trust us to not read the description properly. we thought we were checking into a hotel or resort.. turns out it's a private wedding venue and there's no one else in sight!' The video drew some skepticism online, with some viewers accusing Matt of staging the clip to promote the venue, though he dismissed the claims in a follow-up clip, insisting the mistake was genuine. He reiterated that he and his partner spent AU$600 (around £290) per night through Expedia for a two-night stay in a Classic Balcony Room at the venue, treating themselves after travelling 'relatively frugally' earlier in their European adventure. Matt reiterated that he and his partner spent $600 AUD (around £260) per night through Expedia for a two-night stay in a Classic Balcony Room at the venue While the setting was evidently stunning, Matt noted there were no staff for the bar, no room service, and no easy access to restaurants or shops. He also mentioned that he and his partner may have been able to book the venue as he claimed it's 'bad luck' in Italy to wed on Tuesdays, which is the day the couple had checked in. On Villa Antiche Mura Relais' website, a description reads: 'The Villa offers different romantic settings for your Sorrento wedding reception and special event. 'Completely equipped for all the celebrations, we will personalize everything you desire with care and attention to details. Always at your disposal for all your requests. We are sure to make your special day memorable!' 4,000 viewers were left both amused and bewildered as they shared their thoughts in the comments The Daily Mail has reached out to Villa Antiche Mura Relais for further comment. Meanwhile, 4,000 viewers were left both amused and bewildered as they shared their thoughts in the comments, as one wrote: 'I'd be checking my email to make sure I booked it for $600 and not $6,000 or $60,000.' Another commented: 'Someone who wanted the venue for the same date is watching this like...'

Renfrewshire paedophile branded "every parent's worst nightmare" jailed after sending sexual messages to teen girls
Twisted John McNaught sent sexual messages on social media platforms to six young teenage girls. A twisted paedophile described as 'every parent's worst nightmare' has been jailed for over three years after sending sexual messages on social media to six young teenage girls. Creepy John McNaught contacted the girls on Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat, and sent sexually explicit messages asking them to send naked pictures of themselves to him. He also sent sexually explicit images and videos of himself to them. When the girls blocked the 27-year-old pervert's accounts, he created new social media profiles in a bid to message them further – harassing them for indecent photos. Paisley Sheriff Court heard how one of the girls told McNaught she was only 12 and he crudely replied: 'I've had younger girls before.' Procurator fiscal depute Abi McKenna previously told the town's court: 'On February 10, 2024, an 11-year-old girl was messaged initially on TikTok and then on Instagram by the accused which began as general chat but then became sexual and made the girl feel uncomfortable. 'The accused asked the girl to send pictures of her private parts, which she did at the beginning. 'The accused then sent videos of himself carrying out a sex act on himself, and continued to message the girl in a sexually explicit manner. 'As a result, the girl advised the accused she was not going to send anything else and blocked the accused's account. 'On March 25, 2024, another Instagram account started messaging the girl. She identified this as being the accused who she had blocked in February but was now using another account name.' McNaught continued to send sexually explicit messages and, when the girl told him her age, he replied stating he didn't care as he's had 'younger girls before'. Further evidence of McNaught's seedy behaviour saw him send messages to a 12-year-old girl, stating she was 'fit', 'young', 'hot' and 'banging' and he asked her if she wanted to see pictures of his private parts. Ms McKenna added: 'A 13-year-old girl was added on Snapchat at the end of March last year by someone of the name of John Ross McNaught. 'He asked her what age she was and she told him she was 13. 'The accused then started replying to some of her TikToks and would message inappropriate things about her appearance. 'She deleted the comments and removed the accused from her accounts. 'He then started to create fake accounts which were all similar to the first one. 'He would message this girl... these comments made her feel sick and she wouldn't reply to any but the accused kept sending messages. 'He didn't send a picture of his face but he sent a picture of his private parts, four or five times, as well as a video of him carrying out a sexual act on himself.' The girls reported the abuse to their parents who contacted police. Officers later found a total of 72 images and videos of child sexual exploitation and abuse on two mobile phones owned by McNaught. A cybercrime investigation discovered this haul included nine Category A images – ranked as the highest level of severity for indecent images – and 27 Category A videos. McNaught's defence agent said there was 'nothing to say to mitigate these offences'. Sheriff Gillian Craig slammed McNaught and said: 'At the time of your arrest, you were out of control. 'You sent images, videos and messages of the most repugnant sort. 'These girls asked you to stop. They should never have been placed in that position, they should have been left alone to enjoy the innocence of childhood. 'What is clear is your actions have had catastrophic consequences. 'Because of the gravity of the offence and your previous analogous conviction a custodial sentence is the only appropriate disposal.' McNaught, described as a prisoner of Low Moss jail, Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, was jailed for three years and four months. Upon his release, McNaught will be subject to licence for 24 months. In addition, he was placed on the sex offenders' register for an indefinite period and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years. Non-harassment orders for all six of McNaught's victim's were also granted for 20 years.
