Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski is perfect through 6 vs. Twins in his 2nd career start

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Jacob Misiorowski of the Milwaukee Brewers has a perfect game through six innings Friday against the Minnesota Twins, extending his run of hitless innings to start his big league career to 11.
In his second career start, the hard-throwing 6-foot-7 right-hander has struck out six with a fastball regularly reaching triple digits and a slider and changeup in the mid-90s. He's at 80 pitches.

Misiorowski threw five no-hit innings against St. Louis on June 12, but left in the sixth with cramping in his right calf and quadriceps.
The closest Minnesota got to a hit was a sinking liner off the bat of Ryan Jeffers that left fielder Isaac Collins slid to catch the fifth inning. Christian Vazquez it a ball to the warning track in the sixth.
At Triple-A Nashville this season, Misiorowski was 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA in 13 appearances, 12 starts.
Milwaukee leads Minnesota 3-0.

CINCINNATI — The last time Shemar Stewart sat in front of his locker answering questions from the media, he was taking shots at the Bengals organization amid a dispute over his rookie contract. He stated the team was more interested in winning arguments than games. With his rookie deal finally signed, 94 days after he was selected No. 17 in the 2025 NFL Draft, Stewart expressed a 'deep sense of joy.' Last week, Bengals de facto general manager Duke Tobin took aim at Stewart's agent, Zac Hiller of LAA Sports, stating 'I don't understand or believe or agree with the advice' Stewart is paying for. Stewart openly defended Hiller's approach in the negotiations, which ended with Stewart accepting the default language in exchange for the Bengals paying him $500,000 of his signing bonus up front instead of in December. 'In my opinion, I feel like I want an agent that's more of a pit bull,' he said. 'You feel me? I don't want an agent that can easily be pushed over. I want someone that's going to war (for) me. So I don't have to do any of the hard work behind the scenes. In terms of that regard, I think Zac is a great agent. He handles business very well, that's my dog for life.' Stewart was working out at Texas A&M during his time away, spawning rumors he might return to the Aggies, but Stewart put that talk to bed. 'The Internet makes up some crazy things sometimes,' Stewart said. 'I've just got to sit back and laugh at it sometimes 'cause I don't know where they get it from. I mean, I can't go back and work at my old college scene? I mean, stupid.' He participated in about 10 reps of team drills, according to head coach Zac Taylor. The coach said the immediate focus is merely getting him acclimated. Stewart came in before anyone else at 6:30 a.m. for an early meeting about his ramp-up process. Advertisement There are expectations for gradual growth in how much he participates. Stewart expects to enjoy a fresh start after the nasty back and forth it took to arrive at this moment. 'End of the day, I'm happy to be a Bengal,' he said. 'I'm happy I got drafted here. We have a long relationship ahead of us. There is no bad blood. It's just how things go sometimes.'

Bulls and coach Billy Donovan agree to a contract extension
CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Bulls and coach Billy Donovan have agreed to a contract extension, the team said Sunday. The team did not reveal the length or financial terms of the contract. Donovan has a 195-205 record with one playoff appearance in five seasons as the Bulls' coach. Chicago went 39-43 for the second straight season and finished ninth in the Eastern Conference before getting knocked out of the play-in tournament by Miami for the third year in a row with a blowout loss at home. The poor showing against the Heat came after a 15-5 finish to the regular season, albeit when some opponents were tanking to boost their lottery odds and others were resting key players ahead of the playoffs. The Bulls traded DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso before last season and dealt Zach LaVine before the deadline in February. They also implemented a quicker pace. Coby White averaged a career-high 20.4 points and Josh Giddey came on strong down the stretch in his first season in Chicago. Chicago has been relatively quiet this offseason. The Bulls drafted Noa Essengue out of the French Basketball League with the No. 12 overall pick and traded Lonzo Ball to Cleveland for Isaac Okoro. Donovan is 438-362 in 10 seasons as an NBA head coach. He was arguably the most attractive candidate on the market when the Bulls hired him in September 2020 to replace the fired Jim Boylen following a five-year run in Oklahoma City. He led the Thunder to a 243-157 record and playoff appearances each season while working with stars such as Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Chris Paul. With Grant Holmes placed on 15-day IL, all 5 Braves opening day starters are out with injuries
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Atlanta Braves placed right-hander Grant Holmes on the 15-day injured list on Sunday, meaning all five of the club's starters on Opening Day are on the injured list. Holmes has elbow inflammation and was replaced on the active roster by Daysbel Hernández, recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett. Holmes pitched four innings Saturday in the Braves' 6-5 loss to the Texas Rangers in 10 innings.
