Orlando Pirates news: Mofokeng and Saleng
The former hasn't featured since December 7, while the latter continues to attract international interest, from MLS side FC Cincinnati to Egyptian giants Zamalek FC and Ah Ahly.
Adding further speculation to an Orlando Pirates exit for Mofokeng is his father, who recently revealed that he wants him leave the PSL this offseason.
'My biggest wish is to see Rele overseas in 2025/2026. I'm praying every day. I don't want to see him in the Betway Premiership again this season. I know God will answer my prayers,' Sechaba said
'[Whether it's in] Spain, England, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Switzerland — Rele can play. I believe that with all my heart. Take him to Barcelona? He can play. PSG? He can play. Any country. I'll be happy — but not Saudi Arabia,' he added.
'Not yet. He's still young. He needs to compete in UEFA competitions. If he goes to Saudi now, he won't experience that. Yes, he'd be rich — but happiness is more important. You can have all the money in the world, but if you're not happy, it's worthless.'
Orlando Pirates have yet to mention Mofokeng's future, but Bafana Bafana boss Hugo Broos believes he will leave.
'Talking about Mofokeng, I just hope that he makes the right decisions. And that he is not going to a team where he won't play,' said Broos.
'I see all the things around, Barcelona and Rangers and… (sighs) I'm a little bit afraid. I just hope that the people around make the choice of the best sportive solution and not the best financial solution.
'Okay, I think his parents want the best for him, that's for sure. But there is another guy who wants to win a lot of money also, but that's the problem. But ok, let's hope, maybe I talked too soon about that.
'We'll see. I think in June, Rele will not be a player of Orlando Pirates anymore, but a good choice is very important.'

BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs sign promising CT Spurs duo, BUT…
Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly agreed to add yet another talented duo to their ranks but there seems to be problems. This week Chiefs announced five new signings with the signature of a sixth reportedly also secured but they want more! Earlier in the week Chiefs confirmed the signing of trio Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva and Ethan Chislett. The trio were all previously based abroad, Shinga in Portugal, Silva in Indonesia and Chislett in England. They have been brought in to strengthen the left-back, striker and playmaking ranks respectively. Chiefs were not done just yet, they then announced the former Orlando Pirates duo of Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane. The two defenders joining was perhaps the worst kept secret from the bunch, having reportedly signed their deals the earliest. They won't be the only former Buccaneers joining Amakhosi however. This publication reported on Thursday that Siphesihle Ndlovu is also set to be unveiled as a Glamour Boy. But that's not all! According to iDiski Times , Chiefs have reached an agreement to sign Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman. But the problem is, Cape Town Spurs are refusing to let go! 'Kaizer Chiefs are said to have agreed to sign Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman but Cape Town Spurs, who have been relegated to the ABC Motsepe League have ordered the players to return for pre-season. The promising attacking duo have long been touted for major moves in the top-flight and Chiefs have won the race for their services but face a fight with Spurs who claim both are still under contract. It's believed that the players have terminated their contracts as per the status of Spurs and in line with FIFA and NSL and the South African Football Association (SAFA) rules, all players involved in SAFA competitions are deemed amateur as per rule 13.1. Rule 4.3.1.4, in the NSL handbook states; a player may apply to the dispute resolution chamber (DRC) to be declared a free agent in the event of the member club ceasing to exist as a member club falling under the jurisdiction of the league.' Wrote the publication. With that being said, it remains to be seen what hold Spurs have on Velebayi and Baartman legally. On the face of it all, it seems like their loss and a very smart gain for Chiefs. Amakhosi fans, how do you feel about this saga? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Abdeslam Ouaddou promises a better version of Reveiro's Orlando Pirates
NEW Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, left, promises to improve the side as he shakes his predecessor Jose Riveiro's hand. | BackpagePix Orlando Pirates' new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says the team has reached the end of a 'process', hence they'll have to fight for honours next season. Ouaddou recently took over the reins at Pirates after his predecessor Jose Riveiro left the club amid the expiry of his contract to join Al Ahly. The Moroccan-born coach has bigger shoes to fill as he builds on a conrete foundation that Riveiro laid and take the team to dizzy heights. Ouaddou must continue to ensure that Pirates are still the 'Cup Kings', while returning them back to the pinnacle of SA football for the first time since 2012. The former Marumo Gallants' coach, speaking in an exclusive interview with Pirates TV yesterday, said he's ready for the task that lies ahead. 'We are (going to be) very ambitious - the players and staff,' Ouaddou said. 'What we can promise (the fans) is that they'll see a very strong team this season. 'We'll be very ambitious, with a strong character and personality. (In the end) we will be a winning team.' Ouaddou is not naive, though, thinking that everything will be easy. That's why he wants to continue with where Riveiro has left off, and then instill a winning habit. 'It's a big challenge, and the club is well organised. But they've arrived at a stage where they need to go forward,' Ouaddou explained. 'They did a fantastic job during the previous years. We have to congratulate Riveiro - he's a fantastic man and did a fantastic job. Thanks to the board which supported him. 'They had a strong vision, and allowed people to work. But perhaps, we've now arrived at the end of the project of five years. 'People now need victories, and trophies. I am very passionate and ready for that. Of course, there's pressure everywhere … but it's a good pressure.'

PSL transfer news: Lucas Ribeiro hints Brazil move, Mofokeng exit
PSL fans still have just under two months to wait until they see their favourite players grace the pitch in a season which promises to deliver fireworks. Orlando Pirates were hot on Mamelodi Sundowns' heels last season, but tapered off towards the end. This offseason, they have already brought in 10 recruits, including established PSL stars Oswin Appollis and Tshepang Moremi. Their arrivals would make the departure of Relebohile Mofokeng a lighter pill to swallow. The 20-year-old phenom has several clubs, from FC Cincinnati to Ah Ahly, vying for his services, fuelling speculation of an offseason exit; a notion further solidified by his father, who has urged the Pirates winger to flock the PSL. 'My biggest wish is to see Rele overseas in 2025/2026. I'm praying every day. I don't want to see him in the Betway Premiership again this season. I know God will answer my prayers,' Sechaba Mofokeng said. '[Whether it's in] Spain, England, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Switzerland — Rele can play. I believe that with all my heart. Take him to Barcelona? He can play. PSG? He can play. Any country. I'll be happy — but not Saudi Arabia,' he added. Mamelodi Sundowns celebrate a result. Photo: @MamelodiSundowns/OfficialPSL/Twitter Meanwhile, Lucas Ribeiro Costa would have had some nostalgia playing Brazil's Fluminense in the Club World Cup; but its Palmeiras who has is heart. Could a PSL exit be looming for the league's top goalscorer? 'You know that we, players, support the team we play for, but I have always supported Palmeiras,' said Ribeiro Costa. 'I've always been a big fan because of my father. He loves Palmeiras a lot and has always made me follow him since I was little. But we, professional players, have always loved the club we are playing for, too.' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1.
