Stagehand union will have 3-day informational picket in Clinton
The IATSE will hold an informational picket in regard to the Tailgate N' Tallboys festival in Clinton. The picket will be from 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 2nd Street (Route 67) and 6th Avenue North in Clinton.
The release says USA Concerts and Events signed a collective bargaining agreement with Davenport-based IATSE Local 85 in 2023. From rigging and forklift operation to spotlighting and camera work, union members have ensured safe, efficient, and professional execution of the event's technical needs. Similarly, Local 193 of central Illinois has covered the festival's operations for nearly a decade.
'Our local has safely and flawlessly serviced the Tailgate N' Tallboys Festival in Clinton since its inception,' said IATSE Local 85 Business Agent Joe Goodall. 'This event is a vital source of income for many area workers and their families. It's deeply disappointing that the organizers are forcing us to pursue legal action simply to ensure fair treatment for the local workers that have helped make this festival possible.'
'After almost ten years of IATSE Local 193 members serving as the dedicated workforce for Tailgate N' Tallboys, organizers want to abandon the workers and community that made it into the large and successful event it is today in favor of an out-of-state labor company. It's extremely disheartening,' said IATSE Local 193 Business Agent Michael Irvin.
USA Concerts' decision to bypass union crews in favor of an out-of-state, non-union labor provider not only undermines standards for live event workers in the Midwest but also attempts to violate an established Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The contract contains a clear Evergreen clause, which automatically renews the deal unless terminated by written notice, but no such notice was given.
The situation is further aggravated by the festival's actions in Bloomington, where Tailgate N' Tallboys also refused to hire area IATSE workers from Local 193. This pattern of bypassing local union labor undermines prevailing wage standards and deprives professionals of vital work in their own communities.
The locals involved, with support from International union, are pursuing legal remedies and have issued a formal notice to USA Concerts, reinforcing their contractual obligations. IATSE continues to call on the organizers of Tailgate N' Tallboys to honor their signed agreement and support the local communities they operate in by hiring qualified, area union labor.'

Old Hollywood, New Winners! Drury Lane Theatre's Awards Night Razzles and Dazzles Burlington
Enormous platters of shrimp, bruschetta, and stuffed mushrooms. Glamorously dressed people socializing and sipping cocktails. Glitter and glitz all around, and a universally shared love for performing for the masses. Is this Hollywood being described, or Burlington, Ontario? This time, it's Burlington. Hollywood already had its turn this year. On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Drury Lane Theatre opened its doors to the local theatre scene for a night honouring theatre excellence. It was the yearly Drury Lane Awards Night, Burlington's own opportunity to elevate Halton-based talent. The theme was Old Hollywood, and the event planning team, led by event coordinator and three-time award recipient Sheila Flis, delivered. Sumptuous food and desserts were provided by Leave It To Us catering service. Drury Lane Theatre has enjoyed a highly successful season this year, wowing audiences with its heartwarming Holiday Inn, its riotously funny Music Hall, its always-family-friendly Christmas pantomime, and of course, the laugh-inducing dark musical comedy A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. An extra bonus of the evening was that Drury Lane was also celebrating its 50 anniversary. Fifty years of keeping Burlington entertained. These are all perfect reasons for a party. Paul Damario was the quirky host of the evening. 'I think you will all agree with me,' he declared, 'That, so far, this has been the best season ever!' The participatory audience members, all familiar with each other, hurled friendly jokes and quips his way all through the ceremony. Damario gave it back just as good. 'How many holidays were celebrated in Holiday Inn?!' he challenged the audience during the trivia portion of the night. 'All of them!' shouted out one guest. 'Great answer, but wrong!' Damario flung back. Though the actors and actresses are the ones who are seen on stage, there was plenty of recognition for those who work backstage. Michael Belton and Alison Anderson collected Best Set Construction and Scenic Painting for Holiday Inn. Michael MacLennan, who is notable for being the director of the Broadway revue Finales, took away Best Set Design for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Best Costume Design went to Carrie Mines and Mary Buzzelli for their work outfitting the cast of the 44 Annual Music Hall. Sabrina Sikora enjoyed a double win with Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. For those who couldn't score tickets to the Mirvish theatre's production of Beetlejuice in Toronto, there was a surprise treat that more than made up for it. Mia Hickey, a winner of the 2025 Young Artist Competition, performed her own outstanding rendition of 'Dead Mom,' Lydia Deetz's mourning ballad. Hickey is a young starlet in the making, and her actual mom, who is very much not dead, beamed proudly in her seat. Lucas Chabot, who debuted as the scheming cad Ted Hanover in Holiday Inn, tied for Best Male Newcomer with Nathan Farmer, the criminal lead of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Farmer's co-star Lindsay Orlowski took Best Female Newcomer. Best Female Lead went to Michelle Wagman of Holiday Inn, who wasn't present to accept her award. Her husband and co-star, Jacob M. Wagman, accepted on her behalf. Best Male Lead was awarded to the incredibly versatile Adam Holroyd, who impressed Burlington by playing no less than nine different roles in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. In his acceptance speech, Holroyd described practicing his various characters' voices while telling his young daughter bedtime stories. And finally, Holiday Inn deservedly won Best Production, and married producer team Heather and Randy Bridge stepped onto the stage to accept their due. Though this season of Drury Lane Theatre is now officially over, the Drury Lane family is already moving full speed ahead towards their next one. Next up this year, a production of Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, which will premiere in the fall. Error! Sorry, there was an error processing your request. There was a problem with the recaptcha. All of Diddy's lawsuits and sex abuse claims, explained
Despite the conclusion of Sean "Diddy" Combs' criminal sex-crimes trial, there's still a mountain of civil lawsuits awaiting him in courts from coast to coast. Diddy's excess-driven lifestyle has been a signature component of his persona and central to his downfall in the public eye. On July 2, he was found not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking – and guilty of the lesser transportation to engage in prostitution charges in his federal sex-crimes trial. Many of the following alleged victims recall being given spiked drinks at his purportedly self-indulgent bashes, including his infamous White Parties, alleged hotel "freak offs" as well as what should have been professional settings. Incidents allegedly took place during auditions for his artists' music videos and for his MTV reality series "Making the Band." Other accusers say Combs recorded the alleged assaults and shared the videos with others. The alleged victims range from children and teens to adults, seemingly in Combs' orbit by happenstance, or young men and women who sought to make inroads in the music industry, seeing association with the Bad Boy record executive as an opportunity to pursue their dreams, apparently quickly shattered. Others include short-term and long-term romantic partners. Combs' alleged abuse of his partners may go as far back as his days at Howard University, when a fellow student recalled him beating a woman. Years later, his relationships with singer Casandra "Cassie" Ventura Fine, a woman anonymously identified in court as "Jane" and actress Kat Pasion may also show patterns of alleged abuse. Along with Cassie and Jane, a third woman, a former personal assistant identified anonymously as "Mia," testified about Combs' sexual abuse during his federal trial. Other witnesses spoke of the producer being physically violent toward them during the nearly seven weeks of testimony. Diddy has long denied sexual assault allegations Aside from an apology video following the release of security footage in which Combs is seen beating Cassie, the music mogul has denied all of the allegations and claimed the video has been altered to make it appear more violent. Despite this, the graphic footage was shown in full to jurors in his criminal trial. To date, at least 80 lawsuits have been filed against Combs. In October, Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee announced he would represent 120 individual accusers. Alleged victims represented by Buzbee now account for about half of the lawsuits filed so far. Here is a complete (and developing) list of his accusers. Cassie, Dawn Richard, actress Kat Pasion among alleged Diddy victims The following is a list of the people who have publicly accused Combs, from the first lawsuit filed by Cassie in November 2023 – which kicked off his federal investigation – to the most recent suit in June 2025. The abuse is alleged to have taken place as early as 1991. How these New York City laws opened the door for Cassie and more to sue Diddy Diddy's star-studded parties were cultural extravaganzas: Inside the White Party All the anonymous Diddy accusers The extensive list of anonymous accusers includes alleged victims detailing assaults from over three decades, from 1991 to 2025: Contributing: KiMi Robinson, Edward Segarra, Brendan Morrow, Anna Kaufman, Jay Stahl, Pamela Avila, Naledi Ushe and Anika Reed, USA TODAY If you or someone you know has experienced sexual violence, RAINN's National Sexual Assault Hotline offers free, confidential, 24/7 support to survivors and their loved ones in English and Spanish at: (4673) and and en Español If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 or text "START" to 88788.
