Carro brings back award-winning 'No Drama' ads to celebrate 10 years of revolutionary car buying and selling services for customers
Produced by Carro's in-house team and fully shot in South Korea, the first 'No Drama' ad takes us back to the Joseon Dynasty where even the king cannot escape conniving tricksters who are trying to persuade him to sell off his trusty ride for a fraction of what it's worth. How will Carro save the kingdom from ruins?
Carro's 'No Drama' series first launched in 2023 in the form of 3 short films that tapped into typical drama cliches to juxtapose the drama-free nature of buying a Carro Certified car that is As Good As New. The campaign went viral with more than 38 million views in total, and earned Carro six awards at the YouTube Works Awards Southeast Asia, including the Overall Winner for 'The Big Bang Southeast Asia' category.
Carro Chief Marketing Officer Katherine Teo says, 'We've heard what our customers have said over the last 10 years: that selling their car can be stressful, complicated and long drawn. That's why we keep our processes transparent and stress-free, and all the drama they see will only be from our ads – no matter whether they're selling to us or buying a Carro Certified car that is As Good As New. Comedy remains a great medium for us to tell our story and we are so excited to be able to deliver our message in a manner that is entertaining and fresh.'
Carro offers a 100% transparent and convenient process that allows customers to begin their car-selling journey online at carro.co. In markets like Hong Kong and Malaysia, customers don't even have to leave their home as Carro staff take the inspection and quotation processes right to their homes.
'At Carro, we take pride in setting a new standard of transparency and trust in the used car industry. Our commitment to providing 100% clear quotations and straightforward processes ensures that our customers feel confident and cared for at every step, even if it means appearing at their doorstep,' says Carro Chief Operating Officer Chua Zi Yong. 'With the understanding that every market is unique, we are deeply committed to delivering the Carro experience in a way that is not only convenient and worry-free, but also truly resonates with what our customers value and need.'
Since its founding in 2015, Carro has been building its proprietary technologies and tapping into AI solutions to revolutionise the car ownership experience. Carro has grown from a Singaporean used car marketplace to Asia Pacific's No. 1 used car online marketplace spanning 7 markets, complete with a strong in-house ecosystem that includes financing options, insurance offerings and aftersales services. The company also started selling brand new cars in Singapore, with plans to roll out this product line in other selected markets.

Samsung to Make Tesla AI Chips in $16.5 Billion Multiyear Deal
(Bloomberg) -- Samsung Electronics Co. will produce AI semiconductors for Tesla Inc. in a new $16.5 billion pact that marks a win for its underperforming foundry division. The High Costs of Trump's 'Big Beautiful' New Car Loan Deduction Can This Bridge Ease the Troubled US-Canadian Relationship? Trump Administration Sues NYC Over Sanctuary City Policy South Korea's largest company announced on Monday that it secured the 22.8 trillion won chipmaking agreement, which will run through the end of 2033. The plan is for an upcoming plant in Taylor, Texas, to produce Tesla's next-generation AI6 chip, Tesla chief Elon Musk said on X, confirming a Bloomberg News report. Samsung's Seoul-traded shares rose as much as 5%, to their highest since September. A company spokesperson declined to comment, citing confidentiality terms in its contract. 'The strategic importance of this is hard to overstate,' the Tesla chief executive officer and X owner wrote. Musk, 54, will walk the production line himself and has been authorized by Samsung to assist in optimizing production, he said. The contract win comes as Samsung has been steadily losing ground in chip manufacturing. The company, which makes its own memory chips and also fabricates semiconductors on behalf of clients, has had difficulty bringing in enough orders to fully utilize its foundry capacity. It has postponed completion of construction and operational ramp-up of its new Texas fab to 2026. 'Their foundry business has been loss-making and struggling with under-utilization, so this will help a lot,' said Vey-Sern Ling, managing director at Union Bancaire Privee in Singapore. 'Tesla's business may also help them to attract other customers.' That's in contrast to leading chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., which still cannot meet all demand. TSMC held a dominant share of 67.6% of the global foundry market in the first quarter this year, according to Taipei-based TrendForce. Samsung's share slipped to 7.7% from 8.1% in the previous quarter. What Bloomberg Intelligence Says Samsung Electronics' new contract to supply semiconductors implies a recovery in its foundry business' 2-nanometer generation chip production. The $16.5 billion contract spans 2025-33 and could boost Samsung's foundry sales by 10% annually, we calculate. — Masahiro Wakasugi and Takumi Okano Click here for the full research Samsung and TSMC are both on pace to deliver the next generation of semiconductor advancement — moving to 2-nanometer fabrication — and the new deal is seen as a signal of confidence for the company's upcoming fabrication technology. --With assistance from Seyoon Kim, Linda Lew and Abhishek Vishnoi. Operating profit in 2025 was $59.9 million, compared with $3.2 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $40.2 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Mr. How Meng Hock, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OMS, commented, 'We are extremely proud to report strong results for fiscal year 2025 in our first earnings announcement as a publicly listed company. Our double-digit revenue growth, expanded gross margin, and increase in operating profit are a direct result of our team's disciplined execution and commitment to delivering value across all areas of our business. We have also recorded several new customer wins and contract renewals since our IPO in May, further broadening and diversifying our revenue base. When excluding a one-time $49.4 million bargain purchase gain recognized in fiscal 2024 related to the Management Buyout, our underlying profitability in 2025 demonstrates strong growth momentum. Supported by these solid fundamentals, a healthy balance sheet and loyal customer base, we remain confident of driving sustainable growth and building long-term shareholder value.' Fiscal Year 2025 Financial Results Total revenues. Total revenues in 2025 were $203.6 million, compared with $18.2 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $163.3 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Specialty connectors and pipes. Revenues from sales of specialty connectors and pipes in 2025 were $143.1 million, compared with $5.1 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $113.5 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. This increase was primarily due to a significant increase in demand from one of the Company's major customers who had higher levels of business activities related to oil and gas production. Surface wellhead and Christmas tree equipment. Revenues from sales of surface wellhead and Christmas tree equipment in 2025 were $8.7 million, compared with $3.0 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $6.8 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. This decrease was primarily due to delayed demand from one of the Company's major customers in Indonesia, who is rationalizing their requirements as they plan for increased production to meet Indonesia's energy security plan, as well as a delayed shipment to the Middle East which will materialize in the fiscal year 2026. Premium threading services. Revenues from rendering of premium threading services in 2025 were $36.8 million, compared with $7.6 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $31.1 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. This slight decrease was primarily attributable to a relatively stable level of rig activities across oil and gas customers in the countries that drive demand for the Company's premium threading services. Other ancillary services. Revenues generated from other ancillary services in 2025 were $15.0 million, compared with $2.4 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $11.9 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. This increase was primarily due to greater customer demand for engineering testing, inspection and maintenance services. Cost of revenues. Cost of revenues in 2025 was $134.6 million, compared with $13.2 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $114.5 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Gross profit. Gross profit in 2025 was $69.0 million, compared with $5.0 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $48.7 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Gross margin in 2025 was 33.9%, compared with 27.6% for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and 29.9% for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. The increase was mainly due to the growth in total revenues, as well as the benefits from economies of scale stemming from higher sales volume, sourcing productivity and an increase in the proportion of higher-margin services performed. Selling, general and administrative expenses. Selling, general and administrative expenses in 2025 were $9.1 million, compared with $1.8 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $8.6 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. The decrease was mainly due to a decrease in legal and professional fees, staff expenses and depreciation. Operating profit. Operating profit in 2025 was $59.9 million, compared with $3.2 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $40.2 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Total other income/(expense), net. Total other income, net in 2025 was $0.2 million, compared with total other expense, net of $0.08 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and total other income, net of $50.2 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. The change was primarily due to a non-recurring bargain purchase gain of $49.4 million related to the management buyout in the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Net profit. Net profit in 2025 was $47.0 million, compared with $2.4 million for the period from April 1, 2023, through June 15, 2023, and $82.1 million for the period from June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Basic and diluted EPS. Basic and diluted earnings per share were both $1.18 in 2025, compared with $2.19 for the period June 16, 2023, through March 31, 2024. Doosan Fuel Cell begins mass production of fuel cell power systems using Ceres technology
Doosan Fuel Cell Factory Major milestone for Ceres and Doosan partnership Products will target rapidly growing AI/data centre and commercial power markets HORSHAM, United Kingdom, July 28, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ceres Power Holdings plc (CWR.L, 'Ceres' or the 'Company'), a leading developer of clean energy technology, and the Doosan Corporation announce that Doosan Fuel Cell has commenced mass market production of fuel cell stacks using Ceres' solid oxide technology. Doosan Fuel Cell will manufacture the stacks and fuel cell power systems at its dedicated factory in South Korea with the ability to produce a combined generational capacity of 50MW of electrical power each year. This commencement of manufacturing marks a significant milestone for Ceres, as Doosan is the first of its strategic licensing partners to enter mass production using its technology. The fuel cells, stacks and power systems that Doosan Fuel Cell produces will be marketed initially to customers in South Korea. The Ceres designed fuel cells will be manufactured in Doosan Fuel Cell's state-of-the-art factory in the province of Jeollabuk-do, South Korea, where construction began in 2022. Its completion marks the world's first Ceres metal supported solid oxide fuel cell and systems facility to come on-stream. Doosan Fuel Cell anticipates the sale of its first solid oxide fuel cell products will occur before the end of 2025. Doosan Fuel Cell will distribute the solid oxide systems, with a primary market focus on applications for stationary distributed power. These include data centres, where the advent of AI processing has caused a spike in power demand that can be met by the deployment of fuel cells. Other uses include the stabilisation of renewables-based power grids and microgrids through peak power production, power systems for buildings, and auxiliary power solutions for marine shipping markets. Phil Caldwell, Chief Executive Officer of Ceres, said: "Fuel cells have a major part to play in meeting the world's rapidly-increasing power demands, developing energy resilience and ensuring decarbonisation. Ceres' solid oxide design is the ideal technology for these applications through its higher efficiency, lower cost and greater robustness than other technologies. Doosan Fuel Cell's commencement of mass manufacturing is a major step in bringing this technology to the world." Doosoon Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Doosan Fuel Cell, said: "Fuel cells, a clean energy solution, are gaining attention as an optimal alternative to various power demands triggered by AI, including data centres. In South Korea, the world's leading fuel cell market, we aim to lead the adoption of advanced SOFCs by leveraging our collaboration with Ceres. By commercialising these technologies and promoting their domestic production, we intend to spearhead the acceleration of the global transition to a decarbonised society through eco-friendly energy solutions in the commercial power market and maritime mobility."
