[UPDATED] Nurul Izzah rises to No. 2 in PKR, unseats Rafizi
The latter garnered 3,866 votes.
The official result was announced by PKR election committee chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa during the party's National Congress in Johor Baru tonight.
Even before PKR went to the polls today, 200 out of the 222 PKR divisions had voiced support for Nurul Izzah's bid.
Her announcement to contest the post came after numerous divisions and national PKR leaders called for her to do so.
Today's voting was held to elect members of the Central Leadership Council, the Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Leadership Council, and the Wanita Keadilan Leadership Council, from 8am to 5pm.
A total of 32,030 delegates were eligible to vote, comprising 22,936 online voters and 9,094 physical voters.

PETALING JAYA: Nurul Izzah Anwar says she joined the Malaysian Bar's march on Monday (July 14) as a "concerned Malaysian" to ensure that the Madani government continues to protect judicial integrity. "The most crucial thing in an independent judicial system is the lack of interference from internal or external forces. "As such, persons appointed as the Chief Justice of Malaya; President of the Court of Appeal, the Chief Judge of Malaya and the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak must not only be capable but also be of the highest moral integrity to carry out the job," she said. On allegations of interference in the judiciary, she said this was substantiated by a police report on the matter as well as a purported leak of the Judicial Appointment Committee (JAC) meeting. "It is important that these allegations be investigated to restore trust in our judiciary. "Investigations can commence under Article 125 of the Federal Constitution through the establishment of an independent tribunal comprising at least five senior judges. PETALING JAYA : PKR duo Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad are not attending a meeting between Pakatan Harapan MPs and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Rafizi was quoted by Malaysiakini as saying he already knew what Anwar would be 'explaining' in the meeting being held at Seri Perdana in Putrajaya. The former PKR deputy president did not disclose the specific issue, which he said had started to court national attention. 'I was privy to the explanation in the past few months, so I would imagine that the prime minister would explain the same thing. Before this, the issue was not national and the explanation was limited to just a few of us. 'I think that is the reason the prime minister prefers to hold a closed door meeting with the MPs rather than addressing it publicly, because he feels there is some sensitive information that I was privy to in previous months, way back before I resigned (as economy minister),' he said. Nik Nazmi said he could not attend the meeting as he is in Singapore for a trip that was organised much earlier. Rafizi and Nik Nazmi had resigned from their Cabinet posts after losing the PKR deputy president and vice-president's posts, respectively, in the party elections in May. PH MPs started arriving at the prime minister's official residence at about 3.45pm, with Anwar expected to explain several 'important issues' and current affairs. Anwar also met Barisan Nasional MPs on Friday night, which he said was to clear the air on several current issues, including taxation, the RON95 petrol subsidy, and matters involving the judiciary.
