US Mobile is upgrading its Unlimited plans with uncapped data, improved roaming, and more

Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority
TL;DR US Mobile's Unlimited Premium plan now offers truly unlimited, uncapped data on all three networks, with upgraded hotspot, roaming, and international benefits.
The Unlimited Starter plan also sees improvements, including higher data caps and optional priority access on the Warp (Verizon) network for a small fee.
Customers can even try US Mobile's multi-network feature free for 30 days, allowing access to all three major networks without switching or porting lines.
Earlier this year, US Mobile introduced truly unlimited data to its Dark Star plan. While the rollout didn't go off without a few hitches, it seems US Mobile is hoping to extend its unlimited footprint even further. Starting today, US Mobile's unlimited plans are getting an upgrade despite keeping the same price as always.
According to the carrier, Unlimited Premium will no longer include data caps across Dark Star, Warp, and Lightspeed, and now includes 20GB of international data, 200 international minutes, and 250 texts. You'll also get high-priority data on Dark Star and Warp. For those who use a lot of hotspot access, you'll get 200GB with Dark Star, as well as 10GB of domestic roaming data; Warp and Lightspeed customers will get 50GB of hotspot access.
It's worth noting that just because US Mobile is removing official caps doesn't mean your account is truly unlimited, and so things like excessive speed tests and other atypical behavior can still get you into trouble here. For everyday users, this shouldn't be a concern, though.
Although most of the changes impact the Unlimited Premium plan, the Unlimited Starter plan will now also include high-speed data on Dark Star, as well as 70GB of high-speed data on Warp and Lightspeed. Starting on August 18, Warp users on this plan will default to QCI-8, but you can still get faster priority Warp (Verizon) access for $4 a month, or $3 a month if on an annual plan. For those on Dark Star, the Starter plan also includes the same 10GB of domestic roaming data you'd get with Unlimited Premium.
Beyond the core plan changes, US Mobile is also lowering the costs of its roaming add-ons for international travelers. For example, you can now get 5GB of data, 500 minutes, and 500 texts for just $30. The new changes are available starting today, but existing users likely won't see the changes until the next billing cycle.
Even without these changes, US Mobile is easily one of the better prepaid carriers around, especially for those looking for access to all three major networks. For a small additional monthly fee, you can even add the ability to use two of the major networks at once on the same device, giving you one of the widest domestic coverage footprints possible.
If you're at all curious about the multi-network feature, you'll be happy to know you can now try it for free. The trial gives you the opportunity to test all three networks with no line switching or porting required. If you have an existing plan you'll get multi-network access free for two billing cycles. Not a customer already? Those without a plan can also sign up for a 30-day free trial that includes both unlimited service and multi-network support.
Looking for the best price? Right now, you can secure Unlimited Premium for just 35 a month with the use of the code FULLSPEED at checkout.

Hurricane season is heating up and these Canadian oil stocks are poised to benefit

It was a busy week as major members of corporate Canada released earnings that left analysts rethinking their price targets. Meanwhile, meme stocks burst back onto the scene, but what's driving the phenomenon is different this time around. Stock of the week: Tesla Inc. Shares of Tesla Inc. (TSLA) hit the skids this week when the electric vehicle maker reported sales that fell the most in a decade. But after dropping eight per cent following the release of earnings on Wednesday, the stock recouped some of those losses to close Friday at US$316.06. Elon Musk and his company have been on a roller-coaster in recent months, with his support for Donald Trump turning off customers and a public falling out with the president then rattling shareholders. Reflecting some of the chaos, price targets are all over the map for Tesla, ranging from a high of US$500 at Wedbush Securities to a low of US$120 at JPMorgan Chase and Co., according to Bloomberg data. The average target is US$302.04. Tesla shares are down 22 per cent year to date but up 42 per cent their March lows. Keeping score Is the bad news priced in for Rogers? There's 'too much bad news being priced into' shares of Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI/B), said analysts at TD Cowen, after the telco giants reported earnings this week. Analysts Vince Valentini, Natale Puccia and Carter Sullivan cited uncertainty around Rogers' debt outlook but the trio think 'management will be able to deliver on their strategy to improve leverage' this year. TD Cowen has a buy rating on Rogers and a price target of $57. Shares are currently trading at $46.57 and are up 41 per cent from when markets tanked in April after Donald Trump's reciprocal tariffs announcement. In other earnings related news, BMO Capital Markets analyst Tamy Chen hiked her price target for Loblaw Co. Ltd. (L) to $230 from $220 after the grocery giant reported quarterly results that beat estimates. The stock is currently trading at the $222 level. 'More Canadians are shopping in our stores. Actually, traffic is up, unit sales are up and basket growth was positive in the quarter,' Per Bank, chief executive of Loblaw said on an earnings call. TD Cowen also hiked its price target to $250 from $245. 'Assuming no major economic fallout from trade negotiations, we expect guidance to be raised after Q3,' TD analyst Michael van Aelst said. Meme mania returns Meme stocks kicked up some dust this week with shares of companies including Kohl's Corp. (KSS), Krispy Kreme Donuts Inc. (DNUT) and GoPro Inc. (GPRO) soaring as retail investors jumped back on the bandgwagon, spurred on by Redditt's WallStreetBets forum. Meme stocks often have high levels of short interest and low valuations, but its the online boosters who have drawn the most attention. The week's activity harkens back to the days of mega-meme stock GameStop Corp., whose shares rose 788 per cent in one day early in 2021 before pulling back over following few months. But, Max Gorkham, deputy chief investment officer of Franklin Templeton investment Solutions, says the meme stock run of yesterday differs from that of today. 'There was this perception of 'we're going to save this company from the evil Wall Street investors (shorting GameStop).' But I think that's part of this belief in retail traders that actually they could have an impact, even if a small one,' Gorkham said. However, he thinks this week's activity is being driven by retail traders who have made gains in crypto — bitcoin is up 20 per cent-plus this year — looking to invest elsewhere. 'We've generally seen episodes like this before, where after a strong run up in digital assets, we then see a pickup in meme names,' Gorkham said. Canfor puts down more roots Lumber company Canfor Corp.'s (CFP) purchase of three sawmills in Sweden may get some investors' attention. Canfor's footprint in Canada has been shrinking. A decade ago, 69 per cent its lumber capacity was in British Columbia compared with just 14 per cent today, while it now also has operations in Alberta, Sweden and the U.S. South. Analysts at TD Cowen like the deal given that European lumber margins are higher and less volatile in Europe than North America and has a price target of $18 on the stock. It's currently trading at around $14. Hurricanes and why investors should care Hurricane season is almost here. Analysts at Scotiabank Capital Markets identified some potential Toronto-listed winners and losers based on predictions from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that chances are high of a major increase in storm activity in the Gulf of Mexico region where plenty of oil infrastructure resides. Among the S&P/TSX composite index-listed winners could be Cenovus Energy Inc. (CVE), Imperial Oil Ltd. (IMO), and Suncor Energy Inc. (SU) as their 'downstream businesses could benefit from higher Canadian and mid-continent refined product prices. However, modestly wider WCS (Western Canada Select) differentials could partially offset the downstream tailwinds for CVE and IMO and would have the most negative impact on (Athabasca Oil Corp.) ATH and IPCO (International Petroleum Corp.). Scotiabank also warned that Gibson Energy Inc. (GBI) is exposed via its South Texas Terminal and so is Enbrige Inc. as the operator of offshore oil and gas pipelines — 'though this business is small in the context of the whole organization.' Index Ventures' Jahanvi Sardana shares the truth about TAM and what founders should focus on instead

Early-stage founders just can't get away from TAM — the concept of having a total addressable market for their startup to disrupt and conquer. But Index Ventures partner Jahanvi Sardana has a reminder for all those founders worried about finding TAM for their product or service: many startups have emerged from markets that, at the time, were essentially nonexistent. 'What was the market for search before Google?' Sardana asked the audience at TechCrunch's 2025 All Stage event in Boston, held earlier this month. 'What was the market for operating systems before Microsoft, or the market for cloud before Amazon?' Sardana compares TAM to surfing. Every few years, there are massive waves founders must ride — first came the internet, then the mobile wave, then the cloud, and now, she said, the biggest wave of all: artificial intelligence. 'Have you shaped the right product to ride this wave?' she continued. 'That's what we call product market fit.' Which TAM bucket are you in? Sardana places TAM into three buckets: known market, emerging market, and invisible market. The first, known market, already exists, and it is when a founder seeks to replace a legacy incumbent and must prove to an investor why their startup idea is better. San Francisco | REGISTER NOW 'Everyone brushes their teeth,' she said. 'You have to tell me why you're building a better toothbrush.' The emerging market is when a certain sector of the market is using a product, and there is potential for it to go mainstream. 'Think about non-alcoholic beer before it became cool,' Sardana said. Then there is the invisible market, which Sardana calls 'the biggest trap,' and 'also a little bit of a dark art.' The market doesn't exist, and a founder has to essentially create the one and provide investors with evidence of how innovative they can be. 'Think about smartphones in 2006, nobody knew they wanted them and they changed the world,' she said, later adding that 'people don't know what they're looking for and sometimes you have to show them what's possible.' The audience at All Stage, many of whom are early-stage founders, peppered Sardana with questions, largely about what investors want to see. For instance, do investors want to see a TAM slide in a pitch deck? 'It's OK to create that slide and talk about the math behind your TAM,' Sardana said, though she added that sometimes investors get annoyed when founders rely too much on industry metrics rather than having their own unique insight. Sardana also cautioned founders not to rely too much on industry reports. If a founder is too dependent on an external service to dictate how they think about the market, it can signal that they haven't thought deeply about the market they are trying to build in, she commented. 'How do you size the TAM in the marketplaces, especially big marketplaces?' one audience member asked. Well, that question hurts, Sardana quipped. After all, Index once passed on Airbnb, having believed its TAM was too small. 'The reality is Airbnb created a whole new inventory, which is now bigger than some of the largest hotel brands, and that led to a big change in behavior on how people travel,' she said, adding that marketplace TAMs are tricky. 'You want to focus on, again, what is unlocking supply, and once you unlock the supply, how will behavior change?' The audience also asked Sardana what makes a company stand out to an investor like herself. A tough one, Sardana said, but a really important one. Ultimately, if a founder can understand who the customer is and why they are willing to purchase their product, then a company should have no problem standing up to investors, she added. 'We're in the business of evaluating founders more than markets or products or anything else,' she said. 'When you talk about your market, it's really a lens on your ambition.'

Headphone deals: Great prices from Samsung, Apple, and Marshall

Ryan Haines / Android Authority The Samsung offer is available from Woot, while the other sales come from Amazon. There are some price differences, depending on which color versions you want. We'll go into more detail in each section below. Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Situational awareness, and utility lights Compared to the nearly identical Buds3, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro offer better sound quality, thanks to 2-way speakers, and enhanced situational awareness, thanks to advanced Ambient sound offerings. Audio is delivered through a 10.5mm DD speaker, and a 6.1mm Planar speaker. Bluetooth 5.4 offers solid connectivity and features such as Siren Detect can automatically switch ANC and Ambient Noise levels on the fly. The new Interpreter mode works with your phone to offer translations. See price at Woot! Save $140.00 This is, by far, our favorite deal today. You can save a whopping $140 on the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. In fact, the discount is bigger than the current price, which is $109.99. This is a super hot deal considering the Buds 3 Pro are great earbuds. These offer excellent sound quality and outstanding ANC performance. The rest of the experience is also on the premium side of the spectrum. They come with a pretty convenient 4.5-hour battery life (without counting the charge in the case). They are also very nicely built, with a unique look and an IP57 rating. A bit of sweat, rain, or dust will cause no issues! Just keep in mind that there are some Samsung-exclusive features. Some include device auto-switching between Samsung products, live translation, and sound detection. The latter can disable ANC if it recognizes important noises you should pay attention to, such as emergency vehicle sirens. Otherwise, these will really work perfectly with any phone. It will be really hard to beat this offer. It's available in Silver and White. The deal is available for seven days or 'until sold out.' The only caveat is that it doesn't get a full manufacturer's warranty, but you get a 90-day Woot warranty. Apple AirPods Max Apple AirPods Max (USB-C) Apple AirPods Max (USB-C) A spectacular pair of headphones with best-in-class ANC The AirPods Max wireless headphones offer best-in-class noise canceling with twenty hours of battery life. They provide excellent frequency response and great audio features. See price at Amazon Save $99.01 Are you invested in the Apople ecosystem? If you have an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, or a combination of all, your best option is to go with the Apple AirPods Max. These aren't exactly cheap, but today's $99.01 offer brings the price down to a slightly more reasonable $449.99. The Apple AirPods Max are among the industry's best headphones. They have excellent sound quality and impressive ANC performance. We also love the design, which has metal accents and a minimalist look that is now iconic of Apple products. Not to mention, they are very comfortable. Of course, you'll get plenty of features, but most are Apple-exclusive. These include automatic device-switching between Apple devices, gesture controls, Siri support, and more. While the battery life is not extraordinary, it is nothing to scoff at. We managed to get about 21 hours per full charge. Our only real gripe with these headphones is the price, but that is slightly better right now! The deal is available for all color versions except Purple. Marshall Major V Marshall Major V Marshall Major V The Marshall Major V headphones are a fun, rock-and-roll-inspired option for casual listeners who don't need ANC. With plush ear pads, long battery life, and wireless and wired listening options, the Major V headphones still have plenty to offer. However, its stock sound needs some taming from its companion app EQ for the best possible listening experience. See price at Amazon Save $60.00 Limited Time Deal! Samsung and Apple are super popular, and their audio gear is excellent, but there is a very special place in my heart for Marshall. The brand's history and culture are just the beginning. These headphones are also gorgeous and very solidly built. They look super cool. The Marshall Major V are fun, and rock-and-roll fans will absolutely love them. The earpads are pretty comfortable, and they offer a great experience across the board. Sound quality is pretty good, but these don't come with ANC, so keep that in mind before making a decision. These have more than impressive battery life, which is likely the model's biggest highlight. Marshall mentions they can last over 100 hours, and during our testing, we managed to get well over 90 hours per charge! We also love that you get both wireless and wired listening options. The stock sound is a bit treble-heavy, but you can customize that in the app's EQ. Most color versions available are equally discounted. The only exception is the Midnight Blue model. Are you going for any of these? Sign up for these deals before they go away! If you're not quite convinced, though, you can always look at other options in our lists of the best headphones and best wireless earbuds.
