No talk has started with PMK yet, it will join NDA soon, says BJP state president Nainar Nagenthiran

Responding to a reporter's question about Thuglak editor S Gurumurthy's meeting with PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss on Thursday, Nagenthiran said, 'Gurumurthy always aims to bring good governance in the country. In order to bring good governance and positivity to TN, we have formed a single largest alliance against DMK. While AIADMK is already on board, PMK will be joining us very soon.'
Further, he said during Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Madurai, the party will discuss the poll promises made by DMK government.
On HR&CE minister Sekarbabu's alleged comments that permission will not be given to BJP to hold its proposed 'Murugan Manadu' in Madurai, Nagenthiran said his party would approach the court seeking permission.

Women, girls unsafe under DMK rule in TN: AIADMK chief Palaniswami

Agency: PTI Last Updated: Nagapattinam (Tamil Nadu), Jul 20 (PTI) AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has expressed concerns over the escalating crimes against women in Tamil Nadu, claiming that even young girls were not safe. He alleged that criminals were getting emboldened and flayed the ruling DMK for not ensuring safety for girls and women. Addressing a rally here on Saturday as part of his statewide campaign to 'protect people, and redeem Tamil Nadu", Palaniswami said, 'the culprit who allegedly raped a ten-year-old girl in Gummidipoondi is yet to be arrested. Young girls, women and even elderly persons are not safe in the DMK rule." 'Do you want such a government to continue?" the former CM asked, and the crowd replied with a thunderous 'no". Speaking at Vedaranyam, famous for the salt sathyagraha against the British, Palaniswami said people were 'disillusioned' on all fronts with the present DMK regime and 'they are ready for another Satyagraha – this time against the DMK to vote out that party in next year's Assembly election." Earlier, Palaniswami, accompanied by party seniors, visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Health, also known as the Velankanni church, lit a candle and offered prayers. While addressing a roadshow in Nagapattinam, he paused for a few minutes from his campaign vehicle till the Muslims in the neighbourhood completed their evening prayers. DMK collecting Aadhaar details illegally, says PIL

MADURAI: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition has been filed before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, seeking action against the DMK and its functionaries for alleged unauthorised collection of Aadhaar and personal details of individuals under the guise of the political campaign Oraniyil Tamil Nadu. The petitioner, S Rajkumar of Thirupuvanam taluk in Sivaganga, accused the DMK cadre of trespassing and pasting posters with the CM's picture, along with the slogan 'Oraniyil Tamil Nadu', without the residents' consent. They demanded personal identification documents of the residents and their family members, including Aadhaar, voter ID and passbook, he alleged. The functionaries also obtain the contact details of the residents, and without the former's permission and knowledge, enrol them as DMK members, after inputting the one-time password (OTP) sent to their phones. If anyone refuses, the cadre threaten them that all state benefits availed by the family will be permanently suspended, the petitioner claimed. The collection of such sensitive data is not just an invasion of privacy but can be used to manipulate voters, he said, and requested the court to declare the same as unconstitutional. Moreover, Rajkumar also wanted the party to destroy all information collected so far. He further sought a direction to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and the centre to initiate a thorough investigation into the matter and take legal action against the DMK. The petition has been listed for hearing on Monday.
