Talal, JI leaders discuss ‘Balochistan Rights March'
He met with Jamaat-e-Islami leaders including Naib Emir Liaqat Baloch and Secretary General Ameerul Azeem.
The meeting focused on discussions regarding the long march. It was agreed that the government would provide full security to the March participants until they reach Multan and Lahore.
The Minister of State said that in Lahore, the federal government's committee would engage in talks with the organizers of the Haq Do Balochistan Ko march. He expressed hope that the march would conclude in Lahore and that there would be no need to proceed to Islamabad.
Jamaat-e-Islami leaders stated that the party is peaceful and struggles for public rights through legitimate and democratic means in accordance with the Constitution. They urged the government to provide security for the peaceful march.
The Jamaat-e-Islami leaders also emphasized to the Minister of State that the march should be allowed to reach its final destination in Islamabad and that the government must show seriousness in addressing the demands of the wounded and deprived Baloch people.
The Minister responded by saying that this was precisely why he had come to the party's headquarters in person. He added that the PML-N and the government have always given priority to resolving Balochistan's issues.

Marka-e-Haq celebrations kicks off in Hyderabad

He emphasized that today's rally marks the beginning of a grand schedule of events, including a mega student flag project, a marathon race, and the Cricket Tournament. He also noted that August 4 will be observed as Martyrs' Day, and August 5 as Exploitation Day, with various events planned to commemorate both occasions. JI to hold rallies for Kashmir, Palestine
KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar Khan announced that protests, rallies, and demonstrations will be held across the city on August 5 to mark 'Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir' in solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Palestine. He was addressing a press conference at the party's headquarters, Idara Noor-e-Haq on Friday Monem Zafar condemned the Indian government's abrogation of Article 370 and equated the actions of India in Kashmir and Israel in Gaza, criticizing the global silence over the humanitarian crises in both regions. He particularly called out the Muslim world for failing to take a firm stand against the use of starvation as a weapon in Gaza, where he said over 60,000 civilians had been killed and many more were now dying of hunger. He urged Pakistan's military leadership, particularly Field Marshal Asim Munir, to spearhead efforts to unite the Muslim world against Israeli atrocities, saying Pakistan, as a nuclear power, has a greater responsibility. Turning to Karachi's deteriorating law and order, Monem Zafar cited alarming figures: 56 people killed in street crimes, over 26,000 motorcycles snatched or stolen, and 354 lives lost in traffic accidents over the past six months. He criticized the Sindh government for failing to act, accusing it of focusing on revenue collection through vehicle number plates while ignoring its basic duties. He demanded the government issue number plates free of cost, noting that citizens had already paid for them. He said the administration had lost its writ in Karachi, pointing to poor services, broken infrastructure, and lack of clean water and electricity. He also questioned the Pakistan Peoples Party's claims about building 800,000 houses for flood victims, calling for transparency and urging clarity on the K4 water project's funding shortfall. Senate panel gives NHA deadline on N-55 project
Listen to article The Senate Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Division met at the Parliament House on Friday under the chairmanship of Senator Saifullah Abro to address critical concerns over dualisation of N-55 project. It gave the National Highway Authority (NHA) a stringent deadline of two weeks to furnish additional information crucial for finalising proceedings pertaining to the multibillion-rupee project. Senator Abro expressed serious reservations about the potential of awarding the contract for dualisation of Rajanpur-Dera Ismail Khan road under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (Carec) programme to a company that had previously faced issues related to its performance. He highlighted concerns over the termination of Multan-Lodhran Motorway section contract and the subsequent arbitration rulings, questioning the impartiality of arbitrator Zafar Siddiqui. In response to those allegations, NHA Member Aided Projects Ashfaq Khan defended the credibility of Siddiqui, citing his extensive arbitration experience and clarifying that any payments made were not related to the current project, which was under scrutiny. Committee chairman insisted on conducting a detailed financial audit to verify the legitimacy of bidding process and financial claims made by the local partners. Azeem Ullah, a financial expert associated with the NHA, explained the standard practice regarding joint ventures and reiterated the legality of claims made by partners for the released amount. Despite such clarifications, Abro sought a thorough trail of financial turnovers. Meanwhile, the NHA chairman intervened to underscore the adherence to legal procedures in appointing arbitrators and conducting evaluations, emphasising the transparency of the process. A spokesperson for the lowest-bid joint venture, led by a Chinese firm, called the process 'unjustified'. He complained about consistently targeting their company without merit and creating unwarranted controversy.
